the reason pc-only worlds and avatars arent available on quest isnt due to segregation, its optimization. quest isnt a very powerful machine. pretty much anything you make for quest will be usable on pc too

Depends it you should get a good idea if it would by looking at the specs of your laptop and the recommended and minimum specs are needed for a SteamVR Ready Setup. As well as make sure you use windows as any apple laptops, that have Apple M1 Chips in them are not compatible with Meta Quest.

Key things to ignore on this video, do not go and modify the files in SteamVR like the video says to do(OpenVR space calibrator automatically does this)attempting to do it manually will cause SteamVR to break and you'll have to reinstall it. i have fbt that works for me its 3.0 trackers 2.0 base stations and im on quest. you just have to calibrate your tracker to your controller. but the problem doesnt lie with weather or not the trackers work her base stations dont detect in steamvr which has nothing to do with what kinda headset she uses

idk about anyone else, but i started out on my quest two by mainly playing pavlov (fps game) i think that helped me quickly get over the motion sickness, (i never really had motion sickness to begin with) although for the first few nights after i took off my headsets i had trouble telling if my hands were real or not so it’s gonna br weird so take your time getting used to it

Again, there is no a single functioning world right now on standalone regardless of world creator the lets you input any kind of video url. There are SOME that still have working default playlists that don't go through youtube, or happen to use a youtube container or redirector, which might work if I looked into it. But defacto even most of those broke too. And using the search function tells me it's been broken like this since friday as youtube changed something on their backend and vrchat dev confirmed it. But keep talking smack.

Hey so can someone help me out. I'm using a Quest one to play vrchat but everytime I go into a world I get kicked/crashed. Mind you I'm playing stand alone, are there any settings I can change to fix this?

This has happened to me a few times, a few things you can try is restarting your device after the crash, also clearing your caches might fix the issue (it did for me) sometimes files get mixed up.

Crashes on the OG Quest are mostly due to graphic heavy moments such as custom avatars, or even the world files. As a rule of thumb (as a user of an OG quest 1) i try to stay away from worlds bigger then 80-100mb. This seems to fix most of my issues with crashing. I also reccomend not enabling avatars of everyone in the server because the graphic load can crash the app.

If this is a dongle you plug into your pc and do airlink from your own PC, then this makes sense, otherwise if it's connecting to meta's cloud gaming service (if that happens) then i don't see how an adapter would help or make sense. It already has the hardware on the headset.

I hope the cloud gaming pcvr becomes a thing though, that would be sick, and even cooler without a needed adapter!

I'm having a terrible stick drift on my quest 2 controllers for a month now, today it becomes basically impossible to do anything about it, I already set 100% dead zones, cleaned and tried to do everything. your gesture 'slots' will always be the same, but the avatar controls what the hands actually do. and quest is really neat where you dont always have to press the buttons, you can just rest your finger on the button and a sensor inside will know

most avatars just have the basic set of gestures, but some have other gestures (a common one is a 🖕 in place of 🤘 ) and some avatars are built for sign language

Well is she visiting? If so. Universally, the cord to connect is purely based on PC ports and those are universal. As long as you have a c port or a link cable with a USB adaptor then it should work just fine

Oh absolutely not. You can't do that you have to physically connect on the same wifi connection. You'd have to be together irl

No. But upping hardware capacity and ability when you don't have a physical.connection to do so is not a reality. You NEED to at minimum be able to Bluetooth link and you can't do that with the quests limitations across the ocean. You can barely do it from 50ft away

p sure stadia doesnt do vr. but yes it requires either a physical connection or being linked both by bluetooth and local network. you can stream a visual feed from your rig to someone else through your favorite platform, but the internet simply doesnt have the bandwidth to do what youre asking

Yes, the Oculus/Meta Quest 2 is better than the Oculus/Meta Rift S is effectively better in every way besides audio (audio quality is basically the same between the two) and maybe tracking quality (Rift S has 5 cameras while the Quest 2 has 4 cameras).

If vr chat will do one thing I think it will make the hole game better because with the new only show who is close Featur in the beta you should be able to show pc avatars if your only showing 5 people or less and it can differ if the map it self has lots of stress on the game all ready but I have seen some amazing avatars that look like a n64 can run them and oculus can’t see them

So I think there should be a show pc avatar at your own risk type system because if a map can show a high detailed model why can’t a high detailed avatar

Anyone else getting audio bugs that result in a game crash upon loading a world? I've been getting crashed by audio bugs since a few beta updates ago. It also removes my ability to make hand gestures and animations completely stop in their tracks.

I'm using both the live build and the beta build and both have this issue. My Quest is up to date and I don't use avatars with audio on Quest (though I have seen them).
