That was my next option, when I tried to delete selected textures inside a folder
Unfortunately unity decide to be a dumbass and instead of deleting the selected textures it deleted the entire texture folder. Gonna be a while to look for those images again
deleatin them textures are useless it only uses the textures in the scene
when you get them back just try and lower the quality trust me i once had a pc avatar that had 56MB but after i lowerd the quality it it only reached 9 somthin

for some reason, locomotions doesnt affect the file size for quest avatar but emotes animation in the action menu does, who the heck made this logic?
probably because if you're swapping animations in the Base Layer youre not really changing the size of the avatar at all whereas in literally every other animation layer you are adding animations instead of swapping them

- If you're making avatars, learn
- The knife tool is literally just drawing to cut it out
Just draw around the transparent parts and then delete the non-transparent parts making sure to check shapekeys as you go because they will likely be disrupted
For some reason when I use any of the VRC mobile shaders this hair gets random blue effects

unfortunately I cannot make scratch creations so I do not really know a learning path that would take you for say anime women models
Don't decimate a model you are rigging. I learned the hard way that you make sure everything works before decimating
you could make clothing and just plop in the texture but you would probably have to do considerable UV mapping changed to make it look nice
UV mapping is how the texture knows how to apply itself on the mesh
well thats how i can explain it that makes sense
Making your own clothing from the body of the model is something some people do
I don't know how to model or anything but currently rn I plan to learn by just finding a free base model with a license that's good with what I'll use it for and then mess around till I make something

It's unlimited but you will make people lag if it's too high.
10 mb is max filesize I think but I've never gotten close
And anything over 20k (or anything below poor) means it'll be automatically blocked and people have to click to show
Yeah, 19999 tris or below is a good limit to stay under
if you cant push it under that, you havent considered enough ways to optimize
Or you havent made a good enough comprimise with your avatar, say only have 1 set outfit
Of course it also likely wont look as good as it did on PC but yknow it what you got to do if you want to stand out as a creator in the community that cares and isnt lazy (if they do make their quest content quest compatiable)

the workflow is exactly the same as you're just selecting material going unwrap and then putting that unwrapped in one of the color squares

if you would be very poor everyone would see your fallback Avatar
If your avatar is signifcantly more than that amount and also bad in other metrics it really needs to be optimized

You can download random models pretty sure. Just make sure you aren't breaking their rules.
How I started out was by porting models from games.
I use models off of sketchfab for somethings, if they have a license that basically says I can do whatever with it
VRoid avatars have issues on Quest. I don't recommend using them as a beginner thing.
I remember trying to do one as one of my first avatars and it was a mess.
Mainly cause Quest doesn't support transparency
you probably need to bring Avatar Into blender to cut out the transparent bits using the blender knife tool

New neat thing on CATS dev version, finally! I've added postprocessing filters for all passes, currently all on by default. For typical passes this includes a slight sharpening (which I may leave on only for Quest builds) and for AO and Emit I've added blender's lovely AI denoising (MASSIVE quality increase for rendering, equivalent to leaving everything rendering for absolute ages)

as vrchat uses of different rendering techniques than Doom eternal so you need to tweak the model to fit vrchat rendering

I'm in the android target (as you see in the screen) there is no dynamic bones, the material used/shader is the correct one, everything is suppose to work but for some reason I can't upload it.

If any of those other avatars you have in the scene have a SDK error it'll prevent upload for all avatars. Typically, the easiest fix is to just disable every avatar except for the one you want to upload.

Hello recently I updated the newer unity as stated in the sdk for vrchat I have uploaded two models recently for pc and quest. The pc version is fine but the quest version is.... questionable to what is on with it.

So I was playing among us the other day, and I saw that somebody had this enormous Stal Lord from The Legend of Zelda. I copied it, and it was the biggest avatar I ever saw. But the thing is, the rigging made it so that way it had 2 left hands, so I couldn't select anything. No switching avatars, worlds, settings, no joining friends, NOTHING. The only thing I could do was leave the game. It probably would of been a mistake with the coding and rigging, but the avatar is for quest users only, which is the only device this scam would work on. I've tried everything, turning my headset off, leaving the game, but nothing works. If you have any suggestions, please tell me.
reset it to default on the vrchat website or go play desktop mode and do "control + /" or "control + " one of the 2 to reset ur avatar to default robo
if you only have an unmerged steam/oculus/viveport account you cannot login to the website last time I checked and if you also dont have a pc then u have to make a support ticket to reset it

If your avatar is Quest compatible, will it become your fallback avatar that quest see? since the fallback doesn't seem to change in menu
It won't become your fallback no, you need to upload your Quest avatar (that has to be good perf rated or better) and specifically tick the fallback option on upload settings
but
If the Quest version of your avatar is rated medium/good/excellent then on default quest settings it will be shown to people, and wont get ovverrided by the fallback
if its rated poor, some people who set their maximum perf rank from medium to poor will see it, but again the default quest settings have it up to medium
if someone on default perf settings on quest sees your poor (or very poor) quest avatar then it will just show the fallback you have set instead until they manually show u

Heyo, anyone know why I can't build and upload to android? the button is just greyed out and all the optimization requirements are met and green.
If toggled back to the windows build it can build without issue but when switching to android can't do anything.

Yes, went through and deleted them all to make sure they weren't causing the issue. Still persists. Attempted deleting the quest avatar but still couldn't upload the other models either

technically supporting 2019.4.30 and 2019.4.29 and nothing else

u click on the avatar in hierarchy
dont uncheck the box annotated in red here
just right click anywhere on the name (annoteded in dark blue), and hit 'remove' or 'delete'
it will come back either instantly, or when you try to upload again
and it will be new, not causing problems because it isnt retaining the blueprint info thats stopping it from uploading

double click the locomotion controller there
then double click the standing state
then click this big rectangluar thing and pull down the window that visualizes the animation so I can see all the animations
and then screenshot this for me so I can see if it has an animation in there that shoudnt be there that is causing you to walk idle
