It's been a few months since ive built anything for VRchat.
Is there still no ability to make a world persistent between play sessions?
I would love to build a small town where a player can do quests for in game currency so they can improve a house they get or stuff like that. Just a small RPG idea i want to bring into VRchat so multiple people can be in the same town, working on their stuff together.

find whatever asset that is and delete it, if that fixes it then we know thats the culprit. From there you have have to go through the asset files and remove whatever ini file is breaking it

Anyone know why I can't launch the Control Panel for VRChat SDK? I was able to in the past, however the last time I tried clicking "Test & Build" nothing happened so I closed Unity & reopened, now "Control Panel" doesn't appear in the drop down menu at all? Try walking backwards and only attempt moving forward when trying to map the affected areas
working on a world and i'm a little confused. it's my first world so bear with me, but i've made this archway that's rounded with mesh collision enabled, because it didn't seem practical to use a box collider given that it's an archway, however, when walking at a certain angle into the archway, it'll sometimes teleport me out of the map. i'm confused by this. is there a more substantial way of making a collider with rounded mesh in worlds?
Curious.. Can a world be set to allow just one user specifically specified, to have a "god" voice that can be heard all through a world, with no distance roll off.. sort of like an MC that joins the world that everyone can hear easily, no motter where in the world they are?

oh, so when you go to a ui panal, therell be a "tvmanager" slot at the top of the udo n behave component in the inspector, from there, youll drag the tvmanager in your scene/hierarchy into that slot and that should hook them together

Um, I'm having an issue trying to animate a door for a toggle :') The animation on the anim asset looks just fine but when I go into play-mode, only the Transform gizmo moves and not the actual door 🗿

Basically in my world, I have picture frames all over the walls, and people are going to be submitting pictures to a email and I need those pictures put on the wall every hour

i made a world in blender and converted it over to unity, it has objects inside of the single fbx file and i placed everything down but for some reason this world crashes other players
i don't crash in it, but other people who join do
i don't understand what's gone wrong because unity shows no errors
Errors should be looked for in the logs of those who crash. But I suspect that this is due to the collider mesh.

I don't know, look at the logs, if the player's camera coordinates move very far on crash, then yes. This is a mesh collider.
I've honestly spend half my life in VR, but I have only got 2/3 friends on there, is there any other way I can gain enough trust to post a public world?
there's some parts of my world that when i walk into the wall, box collider or mesh collider, i seem to be flung out of the map

I played for less than 4 hours total with only one friend and unlocked public uploads. If you have played for half your VR life and are still not User than you might want to check and see if you have a negative rating(caused by trolling and the reports/blocks that follow).

@kind leaf i use a terrain collider and a few box colliders going inside of that because of the differential shape of the terrain, is this ok?
if the terrain was made in unity you should only need the terrain collider. The fling is a physics issue when your avatars collider hits a collider and doesnt know how to respond.
could i potentially make invisible unity objects as ground/walls for collision fixes?
is your terrain made in blender?
you could try just setting both objects to mesh colliders (the unity terrain already uses a mesh collider), so your imported blender assets that is overlapping, set it to a mesh as well.

sounds like your issue is with your blender imports. Using hidden box colliders is performant and done a lot with retail assets. I'm not a blender expert so I wouldnt know where to start with fixing the issue at the source.
just make sure to remove the mesh renderer when done for the hidden box colliders. No need for extra bloat

make a copy of your project, then use the builder gui to switch build target to Android. wait until it's done converting the project, fix any shaders that might have broken, rebake lighting if necessary and upload again
definitely don't skip the copying step. you'll want a backup.

could you try stuffing your world into a prefab and put it in a new scene that doesn't have any world descriptor so that you can be shared no data goes with it that has to do with the world ID?
In the hierarchy in the search, we type VrcSceneDescriptor, and make sure that there is only one descriptor. We unbind the ID in the descriptor. Delete everything from the SerializedUdonPrograms directory

Door gets a script with OnTriggerEnter that checks if the collision is being made by the key, if so unlock. Plenty of google c# examples.

If you set it up for vrchat, its using the built in RP, and all scripts are removed.
In a attempt to make a "Subwoofer FX" for audio sources for my music player in my VRChat world I duplicated my audio sources and added a low pass filter to them at a 175 hz cutoff (to be fine tuned later on.) However in VRChat the full range is audible and I get this warning in the debug console of VRChat.
Can anyone explain what happened with VRChat audio processing as this did work previously in an older world of mine and how to fix it.

Model wise yeah you can use anything however you would have to set up colliders, lighting and other basic VRChat world settings before you upload.
And delete all the scripts that go in the assets.

as long as you have permission from the creator you can use worlds already pre-built. Not sure what you would need to do as not sure what condition the world will be in
After Publishing a world, say if I made some changes to the world in unity, how do update the world on vrchat? Do I have to republish?

Ignore that. UdonSharp has the same requirement statement. Its just a depreciated comment. We only use the latest supported sdk + unity version as posted on the vrchat docs.

Wait, if you just mean audio players. You can add an "Audio Source" and add a song to the project directly, or you can download a video player like UdonSharpVideo and stream from YouTube.

I have used a mesh collider on the worold so I am not sure why this is happening
On the model, the default layer should be. The mesh of this particular model is specified in the mesh collider. Even if it doesn't work, check the collision matrix.
i've seen sometimes i join a world and for some crazy reason some random surfaces i will fall through slowly
but then rejoin and the mesh in question is solid again

yeah, do it in code not by manually adding them. In your graph/script populate the array with the children of the parent object using a for loop. Then you only add the parent object as a reference. Or give the parent object a unique name and just get its reference by name and avoid physically refencing anything.
I can't remember if it's a default unity thing or not, but if you set the array size to 0 and then drag all your objects in it, it might automatically set the array size and put your gameobjects in it ?

just select them all, the drag and drop them onto the label for the array. it automatically adds them all in
yeah that method is just not practical to maintain with 70 objects. As they will find out when they start removing light beams later to save performance, because you cannot just delete the beam from the array, you have to shorten the array and then backfill with the changes and then double check the array is populated with the correct objects.
I'm not sure where i'd put this, so excuse me if there's a better spot. My mirror layer reflection options are missing some different layers. Is there anything I could check short of reimporting the SDK?

Fo now, open the sdk control panel, login, click the build tab, make sure the vrcworld prefab is in your scene and apply the collision matrix and layers as promted in the sdk.

I generally just give them all a specific tag, if you need to change it, set the array size to 0, select everything with the tag and readd them all, maybe like 10sec work tops

Assuming you followed the directions on each of those prefabs sites, those assets are plug n play requiring almost no effort on your end. So fiddle in this context is nightmare inducing. No udon sharp tutorial is going to cover fixing what is broke. You will have less of an issue working out getting one thing to work at a time than importing multiple assets and sorting out the mess later.

Reload the unity installer and then add in the sdk forcefully by using import package and selecting the file. It should be unity 2019.4.31 that you will be using. Select this from unity hub and try to run the unity world from that version. And download the sdk from vr chat again. That's my best guess. Other than that. Turn off turn off usually refreshes the computer

Hi, I uploaded my VR Themepark for pc and quest to CL and I noticed that my rollercoaster was a little tilted and colliders where gone. I thought it was a unity problem so i checked it but it was good. Then i opened a other instance and everything was ok. Could this weird problem someone caused this like a crusher?

I still just find that the vrchat sdk needs to start updating no matter what people think. The vrchat team itself heavily relies on this sdk. But it's unreliable buggy. And easy to break

Vrchat should start to update their sdk to allow a larger platform of creators to easily and smoothly create worlds. With clean guidance. As well as debug
Vrchat should then rewrite those packages to ensurere no errors. Considering that 99 percent of the creator platform gets their items from 3rd party sources like the asset store

because if you just duplicate the pc version, convert to quest, change any materials that need fixing for quest and upload it should work as you'd expect

you're going to have a horrible texture resolution trying to paint an entire landscape on one texture
There's a few good shaders that let you paint textures on from the vertex colour
so you can blend them around all you like

Yeah it's not possible to ban people from your world unless he's using some third party thing, built an udon system, or is like chilling in the world repeatedly kicking you
You should just need to record your normal account going there and the world doing the thing as proof
it isnt hard, just if they have a specific username respawn them in the void or something
