Just like the Vive Pro Eye, EyeTrackVR has 2 IR LEDs per Eye and a wide FOV camera, the IR LEDs light up the Eye but you cant see the light, only the Camera will
The camera sends the feed to the PC where it is processed

Not sure if anyone has done any commissions yet though, it is still early days and the number of people using it might have just reached double digits.

Prohurtz, the creator, just finished sets for Thrill and Phia so after they make videos about it it will probably be easier to find people to commission.

You can buy the hardest to solder parts from Prohurtz Tindie store though (the IR led boards), which you then just need to wire up (by soldering it).

@flat heron you can think of it like the outer shell of your model is not water tight. There are holes or floating vertices/faces that the slicer doesn't know what to do with. If you're using blender there should be a 3d print add on that can fix it quickly. Or back in the day we'd use Meshmixer or Netfabb on the .stl or .obj to fix any issues.

It looks like you're trying to print an avatar. Like AtomJaay said earlier, the model is not "water tight" or has no volume such as your sleeves. It takes quite a bit of time and effort to get a model like this to be printable.
In blender, you could try adding a solidify modifier and adjusting the thickness of areas of concern. That is a quick and dirty way to do it.

In my research it just seems like the only difference is that resin can be more brittle/fragile and that you need some way to cure it, the latter is probably why it hasn't taken off, extra complexity. . . or that it is toxic.

As someone with both fdm and resin. You definitely need a dedicated space for resin. With fdm I tend to just casually use the thing when I need something. Resin I have to plan to use in advance, gear up with gloves, mask etc.

The advantages are that I can print 10 1x1 figures in the same time as I can print 1 1x1 figure. The details are amazing. And I can do any color I want with alcohol dyes, along with white and clear resin.
Downsides are that resin is brittle when cured, toxic before cured, smelly (though if you are smelling it too bad, then you should get a better mask), and messy.

That being said, if I was told I had to give up either fdm or resin printing, I would need to think long and hard about it.

Does anyone else have a Sovol 4? Been having trouble trying to clear the right extruded of filament and I assume it because a piece of the filament got stuck higher up in the extruder above the heating element and got stuck to the inner walls once it cooled down

I do not, but if the nozzle can be unscrewed, I'd either clean or replace it. Hoteneds or the nozzles aren't too pricey if cleaning doesn't help

The secret is derived parts, honestly. You can make a generic part, then derive it in another part, to make a specific variation. If you do it right, any changes to the original part will cascade to the derived part, for use with fitment, etc.

Really useful for dialing in hole sizes and clearances for 3DP

Hello everyone. I hope you are doing amazing. What kind of printers do you use guys? I am looking to get one. Never had one before. Currently intersted in ender or a Anycubic printer. It should make high quality prints. Want to make little/big figures, masks etc.

either of those are decent. just make sure to get one that has auto bed level and a heated bed for doing different materials. the auto level saves a lot of hassle of setting up. I printed both those things above on a anycubic kobra max

sadly doesn't work as a passthru for me :\ had to use another route. and I downloaded a spacecalibrator that seems to work great, lets me switch between the meta or the xr and has graph data.

Nothing is natively supported on PC, the OSC endpoints have to be used, but using VRCfaceTracking (third party program) is simple enough

Maybe if u didn’t mind having your lens possibly covered a bit and a lower fov. You could make a 3d printed adapter. But I’m not sure about the nose fitting maybe some small changes to the face tracker and hmd.

You still require the use of VRCFaceTracking (on PC), the third party tool, (where the Vive Pro Eye is basically the baseline and out of the box supported) but all avatars with "eye look" (any avatar with functioning eyes) will support eye tracking, however, unfortunately not all will support blinking and at the moment VRChat still hasn't released the individual blinking SDK update, but any avatar setup with the VRChat provided way to do blinking (i.e not setup their own blinking animations) can at least do simultaneous blinking.

With a avatar setup for it you can however just sidestep the blinking issues by setting up the blinking like people did before the eye tracking update.

To my knowledge the only way to get eye tracking working on Index is by DIYing it with EyeTrackVR.
I can't say for sure, but people there like messing around with already existing eye tracking solution and I do not think that one worked.

So just checking the EyeTrackVR discord real quick, no one has gotten it working on anything except the original headset, but people are trying at least.

Like there are quite a few prints I can think of that you need more than 11 inches (or well 256mm) so people have to make additional parts that somehow interlock/connect

100% removing the need to prepare the model or make a pose the model
all you need to do is get into the HoloSpace box,make a pose and take the 3D photo

It is also possible to place these photos in the Holospace shader to be able to view the photo.
This makes it much simpler to have a collection of statues of your friends

I used like 10 lb of filament or 5 ( 2lb) rolls (i buy a pack of 4 rolls much cheeper) . 3d printing takes some of the labor away since it can keep printing while u go to work or do something else.

im working on my own haptic perfirral as well but not vibration and it uses a rubber resin to make good skin contact.

i was thinking of trying Lra once by just reporposing the spare parts sold for joycons as they are slightly cheaper then buying an LRA low volume through say mouser

they kinda come to waste though if they are driven as your regular vibrational motor rather then a small amplified speaker to trigger profiles of sound i think.

i have that tundra dev board too and it came with a small LRA

well there were people doing early repurposing effects with the switch lras " i called them joycons im not much of a nintendo handheld user" .. where one used a contact mic attached to a cup to record the vibrations of a coin tossed into it. When they;d capture and replayed that signal they could reproduce the exact feeling of that

which to me signals that if you'd record /create sound profiles and control the amplitudes you could program your lra to really accurately recreate vibrations.
