Shadowplay worked well but I don't think it will accomplish what I had in mind. I'd like to set up a locked-off camera in the scene that is not the head cam from the HMD. I want to be able to capture the scene from this Third-Person view like a virtual camera man filming me (my avatar) as he walks around the scene.
Just to clarify this would be taking place in a custom World I'm creating.

@red saddle So you could do this by opening two instances of vrchat, one normally and the other with the --no-vr option (use cmd or powershell, or a shortcut with the arg added to do this). Minimise the vr vrchat then fullscreen the --no-vr vrchat and record that one.
Or get someone else to do the filming with you.

@fast pumice Thanks Gallium. I gave it a try and it does work but unfortunately the lag is too great. My machine can't handle two instances of VRChat and Shadowplay simultaneously. I think getting someone else to "film" is the way to go. Cheers!

@red saddle for filming I suggest the cameraman do it in desktop mode with a game controller. Gives you good smooth camera motion and you can use the analog sticks for variable speed moving & rotation. (If you need camera shake you can add that later)
Bonus points if they have a Steam Controller because that thing is configurable out the wazoo and back and is great for this kind of thing.

if your using windows, left click once near the object your working on, then hold cntrl and drag the RMB to make a hand drawn shape of what you want selected., just know that it selects everythin in the shape, wich means the vertexes behind the visible ones.

just found out a spam account contacted me through that vid someone named ximertracks something about he steals NCS music and posts it as his own i just found out he has ove 212 accounts under the same name, I whent though about 50 of them and found the all contain the same videos (all up to date as well yikes) and all the same. Well all the same but one which is the main account that has over 40k subs and is still growing just looked into it. If you get any type of messages on your vids from him in your videos do not respond and block the account that he messaged you with , the main issue i think i did was i put in my youtube tags was NCS so he linked my account to using the music and tried to scam me, sorry for the paragraph have a lovely day guys im gonna head to bed love you all
