The main issue isn't what people say, it's how they say it.
There are some key things to avoid, no matter how honest you are:
Never attack someone's character, assume everyone has (at worst) neutral intent until definitively proven otherwise, and don't assume the other person/people are stupid.
I see a lot of people falter on that last point especially, taking stances from the position of a pedestal talking down to plebian commoners like they're the universe's gift to humanity.

Mods cant be vouched without a lot of people-hours and headcount we just plain don't have. It can't scale. Volunteers are out of the question, there's no accountability. Mods almost never consider what they're changing/breaking, which we have to consider.
The list goes on and on, but suffice it to say this wasn't an impulse decision. It's teamwide, it's unanimous.
In the future, it might be a good idea to try taking your stance without all the caustic hyperbole. Makes arguing the point a lot easier. 😄
I get it's easy to think mods are harmless if you don't see what we see. But I promise you they are not.
Are there improvements we can make to VRC core? Sure, plenty of them. Most are being considered, and anything considered has to be balanced against the massive list of things that need doing in any given quarter. Priorities get formed, things happen when they happen, same as most development cycles. ^_^

I went to an Orion the other day with like 34 people, no performance limiter (lotta Poor ava's) I have a 5950x/RTX3090 and 64GB 3400MT DDR4 and I bounced around 40-80fps depending on where I looked @ native rez on Valve Index.
Same system I'll go to like minigolf with 20 people and smooth sailing at 144hz
It almost feels like performance in this "game" is entirely dependent on other people making their avatars run properly lol - That being said, going to worlds with just friends and such is your best performance gain per dollar imo heh

I rarely (knock on wood) crash in adobe applications anymore, I can keep all my various apps open without having to save quit reopen and actually make use of the interoperable workflows available (sure couldnt do that back in college on those public PCs haha) Hell, I was downscaling and converting video clips to gifs the other day while I still have FF14 open in Limsa and my system didnt even break a sweat, its really just this game 🤷♂️
