I have to say, I have been a developer in many different virtual worlds since about 2007 and got to experience the HTC vive in 2015 right before it came out, but it was a few minutes that changed my life. Not long after that, living out in the Seattle area, my wife and I lost our house and everything we owned, had to live out of our truck for about 2 months, went through wildfires and drew pistols in a robbery, landed on the East coast and started life again over 50. Then, there was a car wreck in 2018 that almost killed her, we spent a year recovering from that. Then, the pandemic hit, with her working at the hospital front desk the whole time. Slow forward to 2021; We have been hoping like hell to get back into VR and finally be able to own a headset and create content again. We got the 5G vax, which gives us better fps. Ideally, I hope to be able to make some world spaces available using Unity.

Today, I set up a dedicated VR space with a new Valve Index in the space where my living room used to be, with a sliding lanyard system to keep the cords free. It was a really major step for me personally, but on top of that the difference in the experience from the early Vive to the Index is just f*Kn mad. The first place I went to was VRchat and scooted to a few worlds and I was moved to tears from conjunction of the experience and the personal milestone it means for me as well. I survived a lot of shit in the last couple of years. Life kicked all of our asses I guess.

It just felt like I got to kick some ass back today and part of that was VRChat, so thank you.
