Quest has its own platform that has its own store and games exclusive to the quest. Most are cross platform with pc. In you buy a link cable or use airlink/virtual desktop with a capable pc you can play pc/vr games on the quest 2.

Yes most steamvr games will work, but some won't perform well as compared to other headsets. All in all anything that is compatible with the oculus rift, will most likely be compatible with the quest 2 connected to a pc.

you have both eyes enabled. VRChat has a smooth / high FOV camera that is customizable in the config file if youd prefer to use that

right clicking the steamVR display view and switching it to one eye only will fix your issue, but also dramatically reduce the FOV

Note that last New Years wasn't an issue with the game's servers at all, it was a problem with CloudFlare thinking that the sudden popularity jump was a DDoS attack. As a result, they shut down all other incoming connections, thinking they were attackers..when they weren't lol

If you mean around the 17th, that was an upstream provider issue - otherwise issues like that are likely due to bad unaffiliated endpoints that people are routing through, which the game can't do anything about

This is almost a comically bad suggestion as when I had a paid VPN I was blocked out of VRChat every single time I attempted to log in using it, both the game and the website. VRChat hates VPNs to the point that when I was trying to log into the website it told me my service was BANNED from accessing their servers.

Even if your network is fine locally, it could very well be an issue with an endpoint between you and VRChat - using a VPN would help get around the endpoint, changing DNS servers could help if your current one is resolving some hostname(s) slowly/incorrectly, and disabling IPV6 seems to help for some

It's something that you just kinda develop if you have it

Some people don't. There are technically super expensive devices to imitate it but unfortunately those are out of the price range for most people

keep rule 10 in mind, but also yyeah I don't think anybody would willingly go to the Quest version from the PCVR version? maybe for the portability, but..they can have both worlds with the Quest 2, via linking

the cheapest new headset you're gonna get is the Quest 2, and while I don't recommend buying used headsets, looking at Ebay directly would be good for that

I have a silly question. I am currently using Desktop, but I am saving up for a VR set. I see a lot of people using headsets floating around while they are sitting. Is this because they are using full body tracking, or something else? I am unable to stand for long periods of time but I don't want my character to look like it's riding an invisible car. :\

They may also be using OpenVR Advanced Settings which allows you to move around arbitrarily

there's a sitting/stand toggle that'll adjust your height - without FBT your legs will automatically move around
