Even with 8, collisions and high polys play a big role in dropping frames.

If application priorities are set right and you have an appropriate amount of ram for the amount of applications running, there shouldn't be much difference.

If you have motion smoothing on it will 1/2 your frames. I reccomend it since it makes the tracking look more smooth.

Also locking your resolution is better than auto when checking optimization for a particular world/avatar.

I also reccomend using rivaTuner/msi afterburner for performance chart overlays.

Then you can identify the spikes better in RT.

Also compare the difference in performance while having background applications open.

This is expected behavior. 3900x doesn't clock particularly high, and because dynamic-bones is single-threaded, you're heavily bottlenecked by single-core throughput for FPS

Even with a 5900x and a 3090, everything on SSD, expect frames in the 48FPS~ range with worlds that have more than 4-5 people in them, unless they happen to be in particularly optimized avatars

I feel the recent situations that have been going on in VRC are leaving a
bad taste in my mouth like a very sour :🍋:. There are many features in the game
that I wish we're added but have not been implemented because the development team is
prioritizing monentary gains instead of service support, and instead of putting an effort
to care for their player base of multiple groups across the world, they have decided to stay 100%
within the US with servers, which leads to the VRC team having to follow U.S government placed sanctions
for other countries like Cuba or Slavic countries like Ukraine or Russia for example. Hopefully the game
improves soon otherwise I will take my departure gladly.

The performance isn't drastically better, it's a newer Unity and differences in the game code are a things.
But it is still unity, and the performance impact of the asset's doesn't magically vanish. And sadly that is where a lot of the performance issues come from.

Oculus Quest 2 is the Headset i would recommend. Just take a look at the price and the speccs - It is a very good Headset that you can use on your computer or as a standalone

yes you can use hand gestures on pc that cause effects, shift + f1-f8 for one of the 8 and left or right shift is left or right hand
