The servers going down wasn't due to overload. The server provider thought the game was under attack due to so many connections, and just cut connection. But the actual servers were good

I think what a lot of people miss about VRC as opposed to your average AAA titles that support hundreds of thousands or millions of concurrent players like your WoW and COD and all that is that those games are streaming nothing but statistical updates. World and graphical information is stored locally when you install the game. VRC is MUCH different, avatars and world data are streamed to each and every player in realtime.
