Another thing I've heard about vrchat on the quest is that there's literally no avatars(as in there's not a lot of avatars to choose from unless you go on an avatar world)

if you go to settings from inside vrchat, there will be a “upgrade account” button at the bottom right you can press. that’ll take you step by step showing you how to merge your accounts so you can keep all of your avatars, friends, and saved worlds. it’ll ask you to sign in with your vrchat account, (make one if you don’t have one) then you put in the merge token it sent you earlier, restart your vrchat and you should be good to go.

steam vr light houses are basically IR beacons that your controllers use to determine their position. the controllers are the one doing the tracking. the base stations dont need to be connected at all

the only issue is that gestures on vive-like controls (vive wands and wmr controllers) have been bugged/broken since the release of the avatars 3.0 update. It's not possible to do any gesture on the trigger or grip while any kind of touchpad input is done

sounds either like you have some wird control binds selected in steamvr or you have gestures disabled in the radial menu. Hold the menu button and then there should be a selection that enables and disables gestures

Technically, you just can't modify the client or SDK. If you use a SteamVR addon to manipulate the VR controls in weird ways... technically allowed.

Here's something Misutaaurufu told me to do:

If you are using Oculus Link this has been a common issue, as well as an issue with Rift as well. I was talking to some people at a VRC party last night and apparently the Rifts (and Quest in Rift mode) are drawing more power than they should and it can cause the audio to cut out.

To be sure this is happening though:
1.) Click the volume icon in the taskbar.
2.) Next to the name of the current sound device should be an upward chevron ( ︿ ). Click it.
3.) Select the Oculus Quest from the list that appears.

If the Oculus Quest is not in the list:
1.) Right click the volume icon in the taskbar.
2.) Click "Open Sound settings"
3.) Maximize the window.
4.) Select "Manage Sound Devices" from the right side of the window.
5.) In the list of playback devices find the Oculus or Oculus Quest sound device.
6A.) If it is greyed out, right-click it and select enable.
6B.) Right-click it and select "Set as Default Device."
7.) Select the "Recording" tab.
8.) Repeat steps 6A & 6B from this list.

The "audio dropdown" it is referring to is your system settings audio, but this looks different depending on the version of Windows 10 you use. (See the first set of steps for current versions.)

You must obtain at least "New User" Trust Rank in our Trust and Safety system in order to upload content. You can get this by just spending a few hours in VRChat, hop some worlds, and make some friends. Give it some time and you'll be able to upload content in no time.

As an aside, you must have a VRChat account to upload content. That means you can't use a Steam account, Oculus account, or Viveport account to upload content like worlds or avatars.

u cant do it ingame, u need to do it from steam
