It’s good enough for video resolutions today (though it still needs to be compressed even then) but the future of vr is retinal and that’s well past what can pass through the air. The future of vr, If it is wireless, means good portable computing that you wear. Air is and always will be a bottleneck.

For every individual, you can
-Hide an avatar entirely
-Show the avatar fully
-default to the current safety settings for their rank
Everyone defaults to the third option unless you change it for them

Some shaders are really whacky in some worlds and you then gotta limit the full avatar or everyone on that rank

My VRC just commited pepperoni, so I thought I would look through the end of the client log for any insights...
[OVRManager] OVRPlugin.shouldQuit detected
The entire log is mostly error free (aside from a few badly implemented function calls with no parameters), but the above is what caused my game to shut down. Either I'm, being haunted or the game doesn't see a complete graphics failure as such.

Yeah I like to use no safety at all and just hide the avatar for the few people that are spammy. Just wish instead of hiding their avatars entirely I could just disable their anims and shaders. That way I can still see them as a unique avatar as well as know when they have changed it

and turn on the dynamic bone limiter too

I also had someone make an avatar for me. Kind of paid him too much considering he was just bashing together the same ripped/stolen assets that everyone else uses. But he didn't not do a good job. Better than being one of the absolute blinged-up public avatar nightmares

It took me around 3 days to find both my main private avatar and my main public avatar though I plan to commission one in 2021 once I acquire a drawing tablet.

I only turned off custom animations since they tend to cause me to crash or reduce frame rate to 5-10 frames which is unplayable solely because of the frames not motion sickness since I'm naturally immune to it.

Not my experience. Most avatars are poor. I don’t see very many very poor
