Im really shit at reading names, like it takes me months to learn names from people i work with daily because i cant read it properly.
When they are at the point between the normal size and far away enough that they grow its often a pain to read and focus on.
Big odds its mainly also the font doing that but size and letter width (what kinda happens when you increase the nameplates) helps.

yeah. Any one factor, or even a small combination of factors will always yield the same exponential curve of accelerating rank. MMR would normalize progress. It's very tricky, no game does ranking perfectly. I do think trusted was so broke, that colorless nameplates were needed. most purple users are rank farmers. So many mirror in a box world creators.

Before logging into VRChat website, open the dev tools in Crhome, on the network Tab you'll have to select the user api key after logging in.
There you'll see all the tags associated (Rank related tags too) to your account.

You can always check the steam hardware survey for the type of headset's people are using still.
In summary, yes a decent amount of VR users do have a headset which makes reading text difficult.

Doesnt even have to be floating bubbles, can be a UI element added to the hud, so its also can be toggled off quickly if you do not want it. Best of both worlds.

I used an index for a while but as im almost completely blind on one eye reading always suck in VR.
Then add some nice shitty fonts that are a pain to read for someone with dislexia and i really just cba to do so.
