@thorny delta the world is designed around 4 people. We just felt the horror we were going for works better with a small group. small corridors with large groups of people can get too chaotic. Also the world is kinda semi open world so it would be chaos trying to organise groups through all that. So very early on we targeted 4 and we do a lot of stuff like syncing all progress, even with late joiners so there's a lot going on in the background.

Not that you should spam friend requests or anything, but the small friends list is likely a factor yeah. How much world exploring have you done? Or were those hours spent mostly in the same places?
The system is basically trying to figure out two things to increase your rank. Firstly that you're not a bot doing the same things with low interaction. And secondly that you're not a crashers alt account that's only added your other accounts.
Personally I got my upload rights somewhere during my first session in game (although it was 10 hours long). Noticed the email by the point I logged off. But that was back in 2018 where the system was likely weighted differently.

Just don't push yourself. If you're new to VR, it's common for people to feel some motion sickness when they're not used to it. Take breaks if you ever feel anything, and usually after a week or two of playing, most people get their "VR Legs" and don't experience motion sickness anymore

As an aside, you must have a VRChat account to upload content. That means you can't use a Steam account, Oculus account, or Viveport account to upload content like worlds or avatars.

Here are some tips to enjoy VRChat, talking from my experience:
1) Turn on your safety settings! Disable everything except voice from Visitor and New User Ranks. Disable all Materials, Avatar Sounds, Lights, Particles and Custom Animations from all ranks, including Friends! (Unless your friends are not obnoxious)
2) Block/Mute everyone who annoys you without saying anything to them. Do not cause a scene, even if you dislike what they are doing, or people will not like you.
3) Adding someone as a friend doesn't mean you will be instantly their friend. Know their personal space!
4) Hangout with your friends or people you know. Don't know what to do? There are many games you can try out with your friends or go World hopping!

- go to a rarely used world and go to a public instance there and hope no one else joins that rarely used public instance (a very niche or new world works)

There are lots of worlds that are almost always empty. I always use video game worlds to meet up in. Search the title of a random game, pick a random world from it, and wait at the spawn point. Then i add my friends and take them to some avatar worlds

Anyone have issues with gestures on Valve Knuckles? My left hand on certain avatars doesn't trigger gestures, but my right does. Fingers do match my IRL gesture, but doesn't perform the gesture in game.

I’ve stopped caring about very poor and just make sure my content is actually optimized. 1 material, 1 mesh, never more than 70k triangles visible at once, no dyn bones... good enough for me. It rates me very poor but I know I cause no lag so I don’t care...

Its not about you are being disrespectful when you have safety settings on. We have all seen people trolling by using obnoxious or crash avatars. If you are talking to someone, you can always just click "Show Avatar" to see their avatar. You dont have to turn off avatars from everyone. I have avatars enabled only for those who are User and above rank, but shaders, lighting and particles, custom animations and sounds are disabled
And when you are a streamer, you need to have this on otherwise you can get banned for showing bad avatars

I have a Rift DK2, Rift CV1, Quest, and Index. And I am now a resolution snob and say FoV is irrelevant. Seeing far away things sharply is where it’s at. I recommend waiting for Reverb G2.

In the pic I can see 5 vive trackers, 2 tripods for the basestations and a vive wirless adapter. So There's tutorials for the wireless adapter on youtube and to pair the trackers you just plug one dongle in (into the little box that came with them, and then the box into the pc via the usb cable) and then in steamvr you press add device and follow the instructions. Then when youre done with the first tracker you unplug the usb cable from the computer, and do the same with the other trackers, and then plug all of them in and you should be good. The tripods, you just unfold them and mount the basestations on top, and then plug them in

The server status is usually more of a gradient in terms of being up or down. Just it’s possible to log in doesn’t mean it’s functioning at capacity
