It's possible that being added by higher ranks will boost yours a bit, the first 4 people that friended me were all known or trusted, may have been why i ranked up so fast

But even then, I don't think any of the numbers on any stat is the same for each person, some randomized algorithm going on in the background

The favorites are limited to encourage people to return to worlds to get avatars. For years we didn't have favorites and every time you loaded the game you had to go and get your avatar again. Favorites were limited to encourage people to still keep going back, since that was a big part of avatar worlds

Sadly it doesn't seem we can check from our own menu, but if someone else is wearing the avatar, you can highlight them and press the "view avatar author" button. It won't tell the specific world, but you can see the worlds made by that person

Since avatars aren't linked to a world. They're all just linked to the user's account, and the avatar can be put on any world with the code to the blueprint

home world is usually whatever world is set for you to spawn in when you first load the game

and you can set most any world to be your 'home'

#

private vs public is a matter of how the instance was started, you can start a new instance of most worlds instead of joining an existing one and you can set it to public or private at that time

Got the same problem as elen. since a short time ago my avatar is just shaking/jittering (all of them, doesnt matter what i use) as a whole in vrchat. Especially when the fps are at 45 or below (and i dont mean lag by shaking). Only happens with oculus + steamvr. If using the oculus store version it is fine. Also only happens with vrchat for me. Most people dont seem to notice or just think it's "normal"

The IP issue was due to vrchat using steam's VoIP system that made your IP more accessible. When we switched to unity 2018, that was changed as well so it's not so easy anymore. I don't know details though since I'm not too familiar with develpment @vocal shard

you also need to do the oculus link setup in the oculus software but yeah thats basically what you need to do. And you can also use the oculus version of vrchat so theres no need for steamvr

you can use the steam version, but the oculus version might give you slightly better performance. so if you have performance issues with the steam version you can try using the native oculus version for slightly better performance

You must obtain at least "New User" Trust Rank in our Trust and Safety system in order to upload content. You can get this by just spending a few hours in VRChat, hop some worlds, and make some friends. Give it some time and you'll be able to upload content in no time.

As an aside, you must have a VRChat account to upload content. That means you can't use a Steam account, Oculus account, or Viveport account to upload content like worlds or avatars.

Becoming verified by the trust system is based on reaching a not time based trust score, which's exact algorithm is unknown to prevent exploitation.

You presumably need to play the game in a normal manner with your VRChat account, walking around, meeting people and also making some friends. Idling won't help.
According to many responses in this discord, a rough estimate would be ** 20-40 hours**, but big exceptions are possible.

Make sure you are not using a steam or oculus account and continue playing the game until you get a notification or e-mail.

just curious, does anybody here have a GTX 1650S (super) or 1660S? both are supported technically by the Oculus Link GPU chart, but do either of these have issues with VR in general? I've heard the 1650S isn't great for VR but the 1660S seems to be quite a bit better, according to benchmarks at least
and I haven't seen anybody exactly complaining about the 1660S, mostly the 1650S
I posted this in #quest-general a few days ago (because it has to do with Oculus Link a little) but considering it's more of a PC question I'll move it here

@iron aspen I assume you're on the latest OVRAS from Steam? I don't know if Rift S has a seated/standing mode for the guardian, but you need the guardian to be on or else you'll be sent back to your starting position when releasing the drag.

You can also give a try to going into options in OVRAS and enabling legacy space drag (it writes chaperone changes to disk on every frame of input)

Anyone able to lay down comfy with the index? I used to rest a lot with my cv1 rift, laying down sideways and all kinds of positions and i managed to be pretty comfy. With the index it feels really hard to get in a comfy rest position. If im lucky when im laying straight on my bed but the knob on the back and the headphones are just to much in the way x.x

That's a screenspace shader. You can disable all shaders, or just disable animations so you can see peoples shaders, but anything that would be activated by an animation like that won't show

Ah, so it involves a modded client and isn't just a "mod" for the game itself. I thought it'd be similar to how they let people use "Advanced settings" for playspace adjustments and such. Damn...guess that means I'm stuck with just 16 max.

Yeah it's against the rules. Things like favorite limits were added for a reason to keep a balance and encourage people to keep returning to worlds for avatars. (As was how we did things before favorites)

We went 4 years without favorites. Things were kind of set where Creators made avatar worlds and people had to return every day to use the same avatars. This became normal traffic for avatar worlds. They used to be more complex and popular, but when favorites were first announced, many avatar creators were concerned that people would just join their world once to take an avatar and never return. The limit was to help keep a balance, but even with the limit, the traffic to avatar worlds has dropped a lot and worlds have less effort now

The pose the hands are in when configuring the T-Pose in unity have stricter requirements to get them looking decent when using the Index Controllers. Just letting unity try to figure it out generally isn't enough.

I've owned both and the Rift S never has issues for me. It's one of my favorite headsets I've used. I used most that are available on the consumer market

Sadly haven't used the index yet, but between the rift S and Vive pro, the rift S is good for the price

The biggest rift s issue was the mic, but that seems to me more of a USB bandwidth issue then the headset itself.

It does, but the controller latency and the Pentile screen was the deciding factor

If you played a certain amount on steam and a certain amount on the VRChat account, a merge would add the two together

sometimes when you hide peoples shaders the avatar shows nude. could you guys perhaps fix that ?. i dont want to have every avatar double checked before i use (with /without shaders) with without lights etc etc just to be sure. not asking just for me but in general
