A quest I recommend if your pc cannot handle vr and if you don't wanna buy a new pc, if you are going to buy a new pc or your pc can handle vr, then go with whatever you please.

the wireless is probably the biggest appeal about it for me. but the oculus vrchat is pretty limited on quest. have to link it for steamvr but then you lose the benefit of wireless, and virtual desktop introduces a lot of latency and jitter still. but yeah, if priority is mobility and self-contained, the quest is probably fine

I still noticed a bit of controller latency with virtual desktop. and the image quality is even worse due to the extra layer of compression. after playing on the quest for a while and switching back to my rift the difference in image quality is massive

So im playing on rift s and i haven't played for a while, but my last time playing nothing went wrong. This time however, when i got in the game i could not do anything with my right hand. It was there and I could move it, but I couldn't use any of the buttons or gestures. All the right hand functions are linked to my left hand on top of the left hand functions. This is only a problem in Vrchat btw.

To be honest, I had started to loose interest in the quest, but once they added the ability for the stock charging cable to work as link rather than just forcing the official $80 link cable as an only option... I gained interest again. Feels like oculus does care

After getting a Velcro top strap for the quest I can safely say the headset itself is a straight upgrade over CV1. The top heavy is gone and, the resolution is so much clearer, and oculus link is flawless. The only downside is the controller tracking which is the same as rift s anyway.
Turns out quest isn’t too heavy it just could have had a better designed strap to move the weight to top of head instead of resting in cheekbones, anyway it was fixable with Velcro.
Much preferable to a counterweight, counterweight added inertia which bugged me

It's not the way things are meant to be though. Avatars were never meant to be individually searched. It was supposed to be players making their own worlds and they had the ability to share avatars they made in worlds they make. If you're wanting to search avatars for things like characters from anime or games, remember that those types of avatars aren't necessary endorsed by vrchat because of copyright.
From a viewpoint of avatars being individual to each creator, and not character specific, a search isn't as important

if your pc cant handle vr in the slightest, and you dont see yourself upgrading any time soon, quest is the only viable option
now that it has link, youd be able to connect it to the pc, if you ever upgrade, and play like with a normal pc vr
