If I made a game and I saw my assets being shared around in VRChat, I wouldn’t care. If I saw people using it in kitbashes and selling it, I’d be annoyed but realize there’s no way to stop each individual. But if I saw VRChat itself letting players host shops and have people paying in-game to use stuff with my content, yeah, that’s how DMCA’s happen and that’s how most companies would be.

I noticed an odd bug happening with the update in terms of video players. I'm testing out a world of mine with a player, I put in the video link and after 20-30 seconds, I notice my ping start to skyrocket to the 1000s despite me being the only one in the instance before loading the video, going back down and the screen looks glitched despite the audio working.

Read this - if you add non-steam shortcut and set it as VR, it should be available at the VR app list in Steam VR.
And if it won't show up on the VR list on the wall, you can still open the dashboard and trigger the shortcut there. Or you can use Anarchy arcade or any other VR launcher...

On native quest I get a lot of portals that load and then dump you back to your home. But I don’t think that’s timing out.

So for example, in my Africa world I wanted all the animals to be true scale to reality, so it was simply a case of googling their average height, and then scaling a cube to those measurements and putting them side by side.

Some people have experienced a worse performance, eventually some are on a worse network connection or there is some other individual scenarios causing that, but the over all performance improved a lot.
Especially since you mention "high ping" aswell, it's likely tied to some network related issue.

Because if they didn't, they'd be stuck using a version of Unity that would eventually be no longer supported, half the systems the game runs on would become outdated causing far bigger problems, and a competitor would come along and replace them.
It's kind of like saying, "Jeez, why aren't we all still using Windows 3.5 or the DOS promt?"

It's been a bit more unstable, but honestly I've not seen the kind of "every 5 minutes" crashing some here are talking about.
Personally I've only crashed once in hours of playing, and all my friends seem mostly fine too.

Every time there's an updated, the live version has bugs that weren't caught in the beta, it gets worked on over the weeks. More and more people get the game working as the problems lessen, and then it's all good again
