Hey guys, I want to import models to vrchat but the technique needed to do it is wa to complicated and long for me. So I'd like to know is there a way simpler and faster technique to import models

@stray prism you haven't said what technique you're using, so I can only assume you're using the most efficient technique possible, and therefore no.

More seriously though, there's a lot of information that's needed to properly render and animate a model, and someone needs to set it. If the model you're using was originally designed for vrc usage it might come with an pre-rigged asset bundle that you can just import and immediately upload, but apart from that it'll always need some setup.

The vrc sdk is a plug-in for the unity editor, you're not really uploading to one then the other. But yes, this is all necessary for now. Maybe that'll change if vrc starts supporting vrm files directly? But in any case the model needs to be prepared for use as an avatar somewhere, by someone.

I'd say the knuckles implementation being "gesture based" is the worst case scenario in some sense, as the ones who have the controllers already can already do that with no official implementation from VRChat's side. I'd hope that VRChat would put some effort into implementing it properly, but that's speculation from my side.

I'd just be skeptic about using that old video as proof of what the proper support would be.

I dunno, I trust that video because they'd need to impliment an IK, its easier for other games because they don't have already existing gestures, like emotions, but we'd still have to rig like the fingers, with facial expressions

@odd blaze I've tried that around a year ago, but all it did was cause teleports/spawns to spawn you 50 feet away from the intended destination, as well as "slide" you around instead of walking.

It essentially worked as a sliding playspace mover, letting you phase through walls and not allowing you to walk up or down stairs

Also, for me, it's entirely in steamVR. Not just VRChat.

Edit: Reinstalling did not help either. Guess I'll wait for a while for an update to come out, and sit stationary until then.

Any idea on how to fix my issue? Basically I did the whole use a ps vr headset on your pc and it works fine etc I just have 2 issues, I can get keyboard and mouse to work and I can move in the 4 directions but I can’t turn, I can obviously look with my headset but my body won’t turn. The other issue is that steam recognises my ps4 controller and vr chat uses it when in non vr but in vr it doesn’t

One thing I find amusing about VR, is that you mention it to someone, and they seem to imagine this image of you laying in a chair Matrix style, getting fat in a forgotten dirty room, alone and not caring for your personal hygiene or appearance.
When ironically, largely due to VR-Chat it's been the total opposite for me. I now spend lots of time standing and moving about where as before I'd just be sat at the computer. I have never been more social in my life. I had to reorganise my room and am forced to keep it tidy so I don't bump or trip things. I vacuum it far more now, since I enjoy dancing and then lounging around in full body, and don't want to breath in dust. And I both shower and wash my face far more often now, due to needing it after dancing, and wanting to keep the face-pad clean.

I think because vrc is a very social app, people who aren't used to going out with friends are surprised how much people drink socially. It's pretty normal but people are shocked who aren't used to it. I find it really interesting how much hanging and drinking in vrc feels to hanging out with friends irl drinking, except you're in the safety of your own home

[Help] VRChat doesn't recognize default audio devices
Everything always worked fine but with the recent problems VRChat had and with the latest updates I can't hear anything in-game and I can't speak anymore in-game. All other applications work fine. I'm a desktop user and tried starting up VRChat with and without SteamVR. All drivers are up to date, I tried playing with my audio device settings but no luck. Also checked forums and other people that had problems and tried those solutions and still nothing. An actual game breaking bug unfortunately.

I would really recommend the Oculus Rift S then, it will be 300$ American and you just need to plug it into your PC and you don’t need to set up any sensor cause it’s all in one package so it’s easy to travel with or if you have a small space

Didnt they also ditch the gamepad on that version, so now only a joystick and less buttons since all the directions on the gamepad could be changed to a button with steamvr settings, still good to see they are working on better tracking

Rift S is good price for what it offers! It’s going to bring a lot of people into VR Becsuze if this which is why they’re doing it! If you’re more hard core into VR And have a more expensive gaming computer and willing to spend a hefty amount of money then index could be an option

Random fun minor discovery. If you put an IK follower on your head, and then parent a mesh to it, that mesh won't shrink locally like the rest of your head does.

Tested it with a wide brimmed cap, and was still able to see my own hat at all times.

Normally you don't get that.

Can now use this with the witch version of my avatar to know if people can see my face or not. (I've had a habit of looking up through my hat at people, due to forgetting it's there.)

There are mappings for WMR using sticks to move on the Workshop. So at least you can get around, just not gesture.

Or do you instead just capture the view in your headset? I just notice the image is not one to one in the game window vs my headset so things can look cut off
