Just keep an eye on the Announcements room - VRChat is fantastic about keeping up with issues, I.E. the whole cloudfair issue. I am very happy with the staff's responsiveness.

Do not get the oculus unless its a special designed one by omen. Specs do not matter. Many cases the hdmi is connected to the cpu and it wont work AT. ALL. @vocal shard

Take Beat Saber. It appears it runs good on Quest. But one of the things they removed was the lighting from the walls on Quest.....well they removed it from the lighting on the walls in the new levels too. It's not huge but it is a compromise for all platforms just to have it on Quest.

Do they use discretion in these things though. Yesterday there was someone who kept saying they were nearly crashed, nearly crashed....and finally they did crash. They knew their setup was the issue verses the animations in the PUG at the time. So no one crashed them maliciously. Will the VRChat police even try to determine intent when a crasher is reported?

I ask because I would hate to be banned just because someone can't accept their PC isn't up to the task of disabling safety features.

whats more annoying is the auto-on videoplayer worlds like voidclub or the sinister worlds not letting you load in properly, the game loads your avatar, then proceeds to load ALL videos before itll let you leave spawn or interact with anything, so much for a night of drinking with friends when theyre in a world you cant join, thanks devs

Make sure you ain't downloading anything. I've noticed sometimes even on amazing connections vrc tends to slow down due to certain other services downloading

Your best bet is to wait until you can get into VRChat with your steam account, and upgrade it to a VRChat accoutn from there. once you do, you'll be able to use the website.

Oh the issue is absolutely not fixed unfourtinate. the issue is all loading screens are taking upward of 20 minutes, and things like invite requests never get sent or received at all

Even if you just use an .exe to run the game it will be launched via steam or Oculus.
Throwing in that link is a version of an .exe that direct links towards the game. So as everyone here is saying, there is NO standalone game, NO web-version and it just starts up Steam/Oculus version.

I would focus on using your vrchat account enough to enable avatar upload first. That will get you on your feet a little, uploading other people's avatars is much easier and will ease you into learning unity
