You presumably need to play the game in a normal manner with your VRChat account, walking around, meeting people and also making some friends. Idling won't help.
According to many responses in this discord, a rough estimate would be 20-40 hours, but big exceptions are possible.
Make sure you are not using a steam or oculus account because those can be verified but wont be able to upload and continue playing the game until you get a notification or e-mail.

I mean, I have no knowledge on how you map custom things to an avatar, if it's controller specific handled by mapping in the sdk, or if it uses a default mapping scheme, or what. I've just kinda assumed that you mannually map custom things to controller inputs

It uses a set of 7 hand poses and each controller has a different method of doing that hand pose
Point, finger gun, thumbs up, fist, peace, rockout, open palm
Then neutral is relaxed hand and hopefully no one puts anything on it
Controllers like touch or knuckIes just have you do that hand gesture, vive wands can’t detect fingers so it just picks them form a menu wheel on the trackpads
You can also put gestures on walking or jumping or falling but few people do

Yeah I was thinking that he only views others that way because that what he himself believes to be true. Atlasing makes the model 1 material with all the same texture. This causes it to look broken in blender because usually you still need more than 1 material even if they use different parts of the same single texture
