Its almost better to just build a fully new PC
Get a 1660 TI instead (Loads cheaper and almost no performance loss VS the 1070)

Yes personally I tried both vive has the best tracking and out of the box 360 tracking.oculus is more comfortable out of the box with an included audio strap. Thou with oculus if your play area is far away from ur PC you need alot of extenders. That's wat drove my decision

@covert linden @ruby needle the only Vive stuff that needs USB 3.0 is the Vive Pro (and I'm not eve 100% sure on that to be honest)
Everything else, Vive, trackers, is perfectly happy with USB 2.0, as long as the ports are properly up to spec.

I have a Vive and a Vive Pro and the improvement on the display & SDE is definitely visible.
I recently hooked my vive up to my desktop and using that after having spent several months with the Pro the resolution & SDE are very clearly visible.

Is it worth the $800? With how much use I've got out of it and for being able to see textures clearly in VR, along with the better headstrap, for me I feel it's been worth it.

Well. I have to edit my statement above as if you got the money, the normal vive isnt that much cheaper like where i live and you already have an VR experience it can be totally worth it.
But i assumed you wanted it as your first ever headset, what means you might not even enjoy VR at all.

I mean, in Canada the Vive Pro is MUCH more expensive and according to reviews: not a lot greater.

One thing I noticed about my Vive regular is the box that has HDMI/USB/Power connections sometimes like... locks up or has issues.

If you disable cloning, they might be able to copy it if it's not properly updated yet. But if the avatar is uploaded as private from Unity (overwriting that setting) then it's definitely a hacked client, and you should report them

Windows mixed reality is the best budget option for pc vr. It's what I use. I primarily just play vrchat and beat saber, so it's plenty enough for me

There are a few different vendors who use the wmr title. Lenovo, dell, hp, acer, Asus, samsung.
You can usually buy them at a decent price on amazon, or at certain stores depending where you live. Otherwise, bigger stores like bestbuy sell them close to oculus price

I noticed one of my favorited world got duplicated in the list, I tried unfavorite one of them, both of them disappeared from the list, I then went to search, only found the world I unfavorited stuck in favorited status.
The world preview has the favorited icon, and the button says "Unfavorite", when clicked on, nothing happens.
