White balls? That sounds like the game is trying to put you into full body since the only white balls I know are when you're calibrating yourself for that.

For most people, if you write your username and password on a text document, then copy and paste it into the login fields rather than typing it in, that gets most people in. If that doesn't work, people have fixed it by reinstalling vrchat. Its just a common glitch @wild stump

people who legitimately know what they're doing when it comes to crashing people can get through a lot of the protections, unfortunately. and there's not really a great fix for that

#

if you use the particle limiter and disable shaders from everyone, that's probably 98% of all possible crashes gone though

#

the big thing with the particle limiter isn't even the limiting of particles really, it's the fact that it disables mesh particles from interacting with your avatar

it's pretty easy, you just download the default file from VRC and place it in a folder

#

the default is pretty lenient with how much it limits particles, the actual important part is that it makes it so particles can't bounce off your character and instead just go straight through you.

@vocal shard it's a fascinating subject. We're in untrodden territory in many ways. I feel at times I am able to have a more pure connection with someone else in vr than I usually experience in the real world. That's an interesting question. I'm definitely at fault of what you describe. I don't know anyone in the real world who would be ok receiving hugs, snuggling up or petting hair while discussing complex subjects or going to sleep. @vocal shard Meeting people with the exact same interests is significantly harder outside of VR just due to the constraints and logistics of it. It's significantly easier in VR because VR is a game that attracts people with similar interests already. Nothing you can do IRL can help this in any way. It takes time, money, and energy to go to meetups like conventions and not everyone acn do that. VR creates a space for it that's somewhat free of needless judgement

I'm sure people would be more lenient on vrchat if people cited the original author and gave credits, but yes even ported models still fall under the rules of the original, don't think for a second that porting a model anywhere excuses you in any way shape or form from the terms the author has written/stated.
