I've used the rift, and the touch controllers are great.... But tbh, personally, id take an odyssey over the rift. Thats just me. Larger fov, better colours.
I'd still take the vive over both because of the lighthouse system and upgrade path.
But it's all to preference. I've heard some love the rift over the vive, and visa versa. So one person's opinion isn't good to go by

For me the server issue has been extra teasing, since I uploaded my new avatar just before the issues occurred. Test was 98% successful, with only a small but very off-putting lighting issue needing to be fixed.
Only took me 2 minutes to fix it without even taking the headset off, but by then the upload refused to go through.

Hey, just a quick question. There's some avatars in VRChat that you're able to technically "Fly" around. To do this It's an emote on the left hand and an emote on the right hand WHILE jumping. I own a VIVE, and whenever I use the jump on the right hand while emoting, they cancel each other. Is there any way to fix this? Or Is this just my inability to fly? Have I sacrificed my abilities to fly, for my feet?!

Yes turn on vive advanced control in settings and do the emote and trigger to bind fly to the trigger, then hold trigger while jumping
I also find 3P holoport can work more smoothly with some flying controls though you sacrifice big time on immersion so not sure it's worth it

@jolly pelican You may be using an avatar with a cloth component on it. That has been known to cause crashes in the avatar menu. That can trigger crashes when it loads the spinning version of your avatar. A solution: find an avatar world or go to the default home and switch using a pedestal. Then you should be able to pick a working avatar from your avatar menu.
There are other things that can crash but seems unlikely they would crash in the menu if you are wearing it outside the menu just fine.
might not be a bad idea to look at #vrchat-support - another thing you could try if you are adventurous is try the #vrchat-2017-beta-info version - if it's one of those Unity bugs like the cloth crash, there's a good chance they fixed it in unity 2017.
