Yup. If you have an old avatar ID attached to an avatar that you have since deleted, it will just try to update a non-existing avatar.

So you need to detach the avatar ID and reupload

Well that's interesting. Just had someone join a world with no nametag/invisible. Then everyoen crashed and my computer opened up about a billion programs and needed a reboot to get back to normal.

Sent in a moderation report with the log. I'm a bit disturbed that the VRChat client can affect the host machine that much to the point of needing a reboot to get back to normal.

The people with issues seems to be the ones that update.
I've always been using an SDK which is outdated by 1-2 months and I've only had one upload fail ever (trying again fixed it)

Playing VRchat normally. HMD greyscreens out of the blue, take off headset, see that steamVR has lost my base stations and must restart, steamVR exits and VRchat hangs

@faint spade It's not supposed to happen, but I've found on occasion it does. (my experience with it is I go to join someone, and end up in an new empty instance instead of theirs)
If it's happening a lot there might be something else going on, in which case mention this in #user-support-old and be ready to get an output log from a session when this problem happened.
