I've always been bothered by the fact that regardless of your avatar's scale, the player collider is always the same size, and there's no way to change that. So a few months ago I started developing a practical workaround, and I've released a fairly rough demo world that showcases how the system works and what it can do.

With it active you can scale up or down, and your collision box, including spaces you can fit through, under, or step over, should match for all players' individual scale, and appear seamlessly accurate to other players as well.

It's still a tech demo and employs a few hacky solutions to work, but the end result is fairly seamless, and requires no stations whatsoever, making for a fairly simple to implement as a drop in prefab once it's ready for release.

Okay so this is something I should've talked about years ago, so let's do it now.

With respect to reports, the team is in a silo. What I mean by that is, we take in reports from the same sources, regardless of who is doing so. It is the only way to stay as impartial as possible, up to and including even unintentional interference internally. Tupper is capable of filing reports too (and does! So do I, even). But, they're not considered "higher" or any sort of "more credible" because of the source. It also greatly reduces chances of random, arbitrary moderation actions. Accountability is a BIG deal to me, and regular audits happen quarterly for this reason.

Investigations are 100% evidence-based. If we have enough, and it indicates by SOP that a policy has been broken, we act on it. Attaching photo or video evidence is HUGELY helpful, though not required.

Finally finished a world I've been working on for over 3 years now, its out on November 22nd 👍

Making avatars takes a long time and finding them once they’re made can be hard, especially considering certain avatars found are private and can’t be worn, having patience for those giving and creating the avatars is a lot easier than coming into a chat and getting upset none are being made or found. Can we all take a moment of silence for Katie, aka IllyTheKitty.

I’m absolutely heartbroken and crying as I write this. Her passing was announced on New Year’s Day by @tight loom. She was just 23 and had been living with cystic fibrosis.

Despite being sick and disabled, Katie had an energy that drew people in. I truly believe many people joined VRChat because of her warmth, kindness, and resilience. She showed up even when life was incredibly hard, and that strength made her one of my heroes.

We were close for a time and shared similar medical and mental health struggles. There was a deep understanding between us—especially around how difficult relationships can be when you’re autistic and living with serious medical conditions. That connection meant more to me than I can fully express.

I cared about her deeply. I had a crush on her, and she was one of the very first VRChat streamers I ever watched—before I even played the game myself. Without her appearances in Drumsy’s videos, I don’t think I ever would have joined VRChat or made it through so many of the things I’ve faced since.

We loved each other as friends during the time we were able to spend together, and I want to extend my condolences to everyone else who knew her. I wish I could have told her more and done more, but I know how hard things were as she tried to make ends meet. I always sent her love during her streams.

She was my hero, and she is one of the reasons I still help disabled people connect online—especially those who feel alone or unable to socialize outside due to medical and mental health conditions.

Please check on friends you don’t talk to often. Sometimes even one day can be the difference between another chance to connect and losing that chance forever.

Rest easy, Katie.
You will always be loved, deeply missed, and forever remembered.

VRChat should put the log-in screen back off-center by 0.0007 units. I've developed the muscle memory for the log-in screen being in that exact way, and I can no longer log in as quickly any more. Truly broken update. 😔
