Hi! 😄 really wanted to share my latest personal project, a swamp environment created in Unreal Engine.

@vocal kernel Yeah the renders were created in marmoset but I developed/optimised it for Unreal through the development. I did set it up in Unreal first but it didn't look as good as how it did in Marmoset. The Unreal renders are on my art station blog if you are interested 🙂

There are several ways we can eradicate the evil skeleton enemy such as :
- TOWERS
The tower is a very crucial thing when playing Skeleton Defender because the tower can fire bullets which will reduce the health of its enemies. There are several types of towers, such as
- Gun Tower
- Fire Tower
- Ice Tower
- Sniper Tower
Towers in Skeleton Defender have an upgrade feature that will add stats in the form of Damage, Fire rate, Radius, and Projectile Speed. Each upgrade has its own difference for the tower.
- SKILLS
Skill is also one of the crucial things when playing Skeleton Defender. Skills can help players if they have difficulty facing enemies.
There are several skills, such as :
- Fireball
- Stun
- GUARDIANS
Guardian is an additional feature that can help players to eradicate enemies. Guardian is the same as towers, but the difference is that the Guardian does not need gold in-game to build it because it is pre-built. But to upgrade Guardians, players can upgrade through the shop on the Main Menu.

Also what about the 'High Resolution' setting. When would you use that?
@sharp sedge I have also noticed that with Movie Render Queue my terrain is rendered differently as in more tessellation, jagged peaks. See attached. Very strange! Top is MRQ .exr using your suggested settings, bottom is Sequencer .exr.

what does it do?
I made a Terzo Millennio Lamborghini, its for free if anyone wants it
It is a standalone program (Windows only) that can run Setup.bat, GenerateProjectFiles.bat and then compile the engine to produce an Installed Build all in one click of a button. It can also zip the final build (with options to what to zip which greatly reduces zip size) that you can distribute to team members. Another feature is the option to package as many plugins for as many Engine versions as you want and zip it all which you can upload to Unreal Marketplace. Basically it makes a lot of things easier via a GUI and saves time. I hope it clears up 🙂

I love that you are sharing this, I still got to remind you that you need to make sure people know that they can NOT just use unlicensed real life products in their games or presentations in a commercial manner. This is due to a simple copyright issue - if they let you use it without a proper licencing agreement someone else could in court make the case that they did not protect their copyright and therefore possibly start abusing it. Which means its highly likely you end up getting sued if you dont get proper licencing on those type of products.
Like i said - great that you share this for others, just make sure they know about proper copyright usage with this ❤️

Glad to hear, please let me know if you run into any issues. If the project is blueprint you should have no problems. C++ is tricky but it does most of the work for you I just released a new version to be less aggressive with how many files it actually searches and replaces, I felt like its best to leave that to the user and just do the files everyone will have.
Sure, i worked on rename old project before, it kind of huge with blueprint& c++ inside, with the way from internet, it always tell me something wrong, i'm consider to make a new project and migrate,but it's kind of painful... Thanks for your sharing, hope it can save my life😉

Usually, we don't touch specular values on PBR materials. But for landscapes, we need to do that with Unreal Engine. Things get tricky when we need to use glossy surfaces with roughness closer to 0....

i think the big problem was (and still is, sorta) that everyone did a race to the bottom and did 90%, and many people didnt get any or almost no sales between big sales unless they discounted their content.

I do notice some issues with shadow contacts and physics slightly different
I also get multiple flags that the phone doesn't recognize the install files but I assume that is because it was directly downloaded onto the phone and not acquired through a publisher like Google Play Store.
Of course I forgot to add something stupid like a touch exit button LOL
So you have to restart the phone to exit the game.
But all the mechanics work. Also notice the health bar sensitivity is slightly different than the PC version of the game
I did get a warning that the game was built for an older Android OS version so I might have to update that at some point

After struggling to find a shader that will fit my projects, I decided to make my own anime-inspired shading model. Looks nice. Good amount of features for the price. Given how many freaking hours it would take to do that (just the programming).
Only thing I worry about with such huge systems is how easy it is to extend them.
I worked with so many marketplace assets, some internally, most from clients, and most of them are not easy to extend as the more a feature is developed, the less it can be extended.
Not saying your project suffers from that though.
There should probably be more full fledged systems for 200+€ on the Marketplace.

There is probably a more extensive reason than just a "lack of content", I'd think. I haven't gone through the Marketplace system so this is speculation, but have you tried reaching out to them to figure out what is lacking? How complex is the shader, or what all does it do? What are all the features aside from just wind which comes standard in engine already? There is probably a reason for the repeat rejections. I remember seeing some advise posted by a friend of mine who was on the Marketplace Team:
If you're going to try and sell an asset that is a hammer for a blacksmith package, DON'T just try and release the hammer and anvil. Make the hammer, anvil, and every other tool in a blacksmith's forge. That's more useful and will actually sell to customers because it fits more situations and needs

I recently made an arm for a fps game I've been working on, I wanted to push it a little bit further by using some workflow I was quite unfamiliar with. It was hand-sculpted in zbrush ( I used some alpha/brushes from flippednormals and Pablo Munoz Gomez ) and hand painted the textures in substance painter.

But even as a professional developer, you're going into a marketplace that is trying to give all their customers better solutions to their needs. If you're looking for just a hammer asset, but a solution you can get gives you not only the solution to your current need, but the needs surrounding your problem as well (in terms of content) then that would be a better purchase to make. If you price out each item to what an individual one might be, it is probably cheaper overall. Outside of content the argument can certainly be adjusted. Its not exactly an oversight imo.

If you're looking for an overall solution, yeah, that's great. If you're just looking for the one specific thing you need, it's not a better purchase to make, it'll just be more painful to integrate
I can absolutely see both sides, but I think it's unreasonable to refuse to sell things because they're just trying to tackle one specific issues
They're basically saying "This pack would be fine if you also shipped foliage with it", but that's entirely not the point of the pack. Why'd I make people pay for the foliage as well when they're really just buying it for the wind? 😛
If you shipped with a couple of foliage assets it would be more for demonstration, presentation, etc. You probably don't need a full forest / multi foliage pack or something exaggerated to bundle with a node that might improve wind functionality compared to the stock wind node. It would be to improve your marketability of your product so that it will sell. This could be a bare minimum of a single tree, a bush, and a patch of grass for example. Its not the point, as you say, of the pack but rather supporting elements to fix the "lack of content"

Honestly I've always loved space, I took 2 years of Astronomy classes for my sciences in college . I thought for a long time I would teach in a highschool.
I really enjoyed games , especially customization or game makers
And just honestly man there are alot of really bad games out there , with even more ridiculous ads. I was and am confident I could make one that's better than many
I knew I wanted it to be 3D but limiting the movement to 2 dimensions made my learning curve alot easier .
I slowly to just started adding things , like when I first made the enemies the player had no reason to not just run in a straight line, so I made the home star to want to return to .
But the player needed a reason so I made the gold per second and the asteroids .

Did a Narrative Driven game jam, and decided to use unreal to create a more interesting way to present a "book" mechanic. So it's basically a book, that you "turn pages" by walking (right). Looks like a promising project. As an avid kickstarter critic I need to point out though that not making clear from the start that the money you ask for in your limit doesn't pay for the full development of the game doesn't sit quite right with me.
You are selling *"a digital copy of the game when it´s released"*starting at 15€ which does not specify if that includes just chapter 1-2 or all chapters and it also is not very clear if you intend to keep developing the title if funds **and **steam sales only achieve lets say Chapter 1-3.
If I was backing the title, I would be inclined to be mad if I went into this hoping to get all chapters but then only get halve of them 🙂

Whilst it is true that initial goal will cover only game's first chapters, it is also stated that all backers will get access to any future chapters of the game if public interest allows us to release new chapters.
If the game is popular enough, the next chapters will be developed and all Kickstarter backers will be granted access to the next chapters for free with a simple proof of their participation to the Kickstarter.
My own feedback is that the trailer goes into gameplay one minute into the video. Cut the pointless company intro - no one knows you. Cut down on the story elements unless they're hitting a lot harder than they are right now. A successful Kickstarter in this day and age is a rare thing, you want to be shocking the viewer with how good your game is
and here i went trying to be polite as possible and you pull the straight punches 😄 much love ❤️
I'm saying this with no ill intent, if that came out wrong. These are common mistakes in pretty much every trailer from new developers

Original concept by Free Radical Design, 2008. Total triangle count came out to 8,538, with the entire model using one 2048x2048 texture (making up the base of the turret) and one 4096x4096 texture (making up the main barrel) being downscaled to half the resolution in-game. In this episode, we set up weapon swaps on an animation graph with replication support.
Offscreen I enhanced the equip and unequip poses by adding blend by bone and blended them on spine 01 up, from the "base final pose". This way you can still walk while swapping weapons. Forgot about it and fixed that hours later ;) Although worth mentioning!...

Thanks! I've modelled the columns in Blender and use one of the materials I had on them to add imperfections (didn't have enough time to sculpt them). It might have been one of the rocky materials from startcontent 😅 . For the lava I've started with this tutorial https://youtu.be/bIvjz3A3anQ, added some displacement based on normal map and tweaked it a bit. I'm not 100% happy with lava as it's quite simplistic - I should have extended it with flow map so that it flows around stuff in the 'river' and made the rocky part stay more solid. But given the time constraint it works 😅

@steady dagger Nice tutorials, one thing i suggest not using is the SpawnActor gameplay task, i actually made one based on AbilityTask, as these tie in nicer with GAS, second your formatting in your code blocks seems to be really broken (lots of **'s everywhere).
