Team Dying Gun I can model for you
i liked that the unreal engine 3 epic citidal demo ran nicely on the original ipad. im sure steve jobs was happy at the time.
oh wait this is about actual jobs. not about steve jobs, :-p
<rants about the fact that there is literally 0 info given....not even whether it's unpaid/royaltee/paid ๐>
(sorry, but please elaborate on your post a bit if you don't mind. Discord offers post editing ๐ )
Ugh, another survival game. But that's not irks me about that post the most. He doesn't even ask for a specific skillset or anything! Just people in general.
Well im not going to flood the whole chat here, I just made a post in nutshell whats that about, people who know that they have enough experience for these kind of games will write and ask if they want, who has no experience in this im pretty sure they wont write. But I can write a book for you here about everything, but whos interested and have the skill to work with us, they will ask and write if they want. That simple
whos interested ---> how are they interested? Not gonna flood the chat either but you're not giving a lot IMO cause you're making a common project these days.
Job - noun - a paid position of regular employment.
Haters gonna hate lol, people who wrote to me already understand the state of the game and what Im talking about and we already discussed the things, what needs to be done etc.
Yikes sorry, I just saw a post with 0 info. It's kinda better now, but ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
If you're trying to attract people who you aren't paying you need a good sales pitch, that's all ^^
Can I post again, if I delete my own post?
(searching for something else)
@gentle pewter
@vale shadow of course
thank you

Is it possible to find someone to work on a hobby project? (just want to know is it my project sucks or just everyone has own projects to work on...)
It's possible
ok, so just my project sucks ๐ thanks ๐
just lots of people don't have time or see/share the vision you have on your game
a game is something you need to sell to developers as well, certainly when it's free/royalty.
Not everyone instantly will say "okay cool" when you say you need help, try to sell the game :)
sure, I understand this. That's why it looks very unlikely for a simple hobby game. Usually people attracted by good visuals, I believe...
gamers, mostly, but i've worked on a lot of games that visually don't look like battlefield 1
we are developers, i think we dont go just for visuals, they help tho
but are very fun games
both to play and to developer
my visual standards are as high as a cube :p
๐
well, ok, will keep looking ๐ Sometimes it's boring to work on a game alone (even for a hobby project)
focus on making it attractive to yourself then, so you dont drop it
Yeah, ask around, ask here and sell your game, when I started I joined a few projects too :)
But yes, felreach is right, it does help to put some effort towards trying to make your own game prettier
I've posted my project here and in several other gamedev communities, /r/inat and so on ๐
well for me it's interesting, at least I definitely going to complete the game even alone (my first "real" project, don't want to abandon it)
i am just curious. What kind of game you are guys working on?
@gilded pendant me? it's planned as a mix of Crimsonland and Battleheart. Top-down arena shoot-em-up in a fantasy theme with controlling multiple characters at once ๐
Are you working alone or with a team?
alone and exactly looking for anyone interested who can help ๐
controlling multiple characters at once sounds like a micromanaging clusterfuck
@gloomy gull have you played Battleheart? (the first one, it's mobile game) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dz_0oeeIdw
Gameplay Of Battleheart The Amazing Rpg By Mika Mobile
@gilded pendant not really, but I'm planning to make MMO one day... Also I have a half-finished MMO Battleship browser game.
yep
@gilded pendant just multiplayer games are more complex, so as my first game project I'm working on that single-player top-down game which I've mentioned above
sounds like a good plan
I am working on a single player game project alone. Even for a single player game its a lot of work.
yeah, I'm working on my project in a free time since May and still not even close to Alpha (== more-less playable)
recently took a 2 weeks vacation to work full time but still didn't implement as much as I wanted to
@gilded pendant what project are you working on?
I am working on stealth action game. You play a mercenary during the gulf war that is paid to eliminate targets and other jobs.
@gilded pendant I like stealth games, especially if they have different stealth mechanics and non-linear gameplay ๐ I've found you post in the #work-in-progress channel, looks good! Are you making all graphics as well? (models, etc)
thanks norlin
I will be doing most if not all the work for the prototype. When I finish the prototype, I will be looking to recruit a team.
do you mean paid team? paying by yourself or you're thinking to find an investor/publisher?
Probably some of both. I will probably be looking for some local friends, collegues or students for my main team. Then I maiy look outside my local area for other people. But yes, they would be paid. As far as publisher, I do have one in mind.
that's great, good luck with it ๐ I'm going to make my project alone (unless someone join me as a hobbyist) to the end and hope it will be not so bad for release ๐
good luck norlin
thanks ๐
Looking for Spriters, C++ programers, voice actors, and 3d moddlers! Payment will occur when we are at a good point in development! [ROYALTY]
Hi everyone. My [] is for lack of a better one and lack of a 'collab' channel.
I'm basically looking for people to partner up with.
By this I mean that while I have a partially implemented proof of concept for a game,
I want to partner up in creating a company beyond this project, mostly focusing on VR and AR.
The current project is a 1 vr player vs n (4 so far) mobile players game, loosely based off the capture the flag concept.
I have a developed idea for the game as well as several key components and modules already implemented (80% c++).
This being said, there are still open questions (i.e. the possibility of incorporating geolocation and maps) and I am even open
to pivoting the core idea; I've written the code in a modular enough way that most of it can be reused in different games.
I would most immediately benefit from working with a 3d modeller with BP knowledge, since I've been structuring things on the c++ side so that they
can easily be extended or customized on the BP side by a technical artist for instance (and since my Blender skills belong in the 'crappy programmer art' realm).
But I would also love to work with at least another engineer.
I am looking for people in the SF Bay Area, since I am in San Francisco.
I'm more than happy to meet up to discuss in person and show what I've got.
In the meantime, here you can see a bit more about my professional work:

And I'm usually online here (mostly in the c++ channel), so feel free to DM me.

Hey! We are looking for rest of the team members for an upcoming survival game thats playing in a medieval age with a bit of fantasy style.
What we currently have :
We have most of the assets for level design , so the map will be done in some days, some ingame systems, characters with animations etc.
We don't have much people right now since our team is based on 2 3D artist, 2 ue4 game dev and 1 level designer but we do the project with so much effort and passion, so we would like to get the same passionate and experienced people to join us and create something good together !
What we really need right now :
-More people with c++ / unreal engine knowledge of building up systems and optimizing them.
-People for creating animations outside of Ue4, and putting them back to the engine and setting them up.
-3D Artists.
We use source control to share files between each other and we use discrod to discuss things and talk about everything thats needed.
We really want to create this game for steam, so if you are interested feel free to PM me anytime and I'll answer the rest of your questions!
@daring marsh If you are going to repost every week, can you at least delete your old post?

Hi guys, I'm considering hiring a programmer. How much can I expect to pay for these services.? I've got the programming done on blueprints, however it doesn't quite have the result I'm looking for.
Are you talking C++?
That or blueprints.
@fickle hatch
It's for a first person horror survival.
Mainly for player body movement and actions, it involves physics and also then for enemy AI.
depending on how quality they are, you can expect $20/hr low end
professional programmer salaries range from $60k/yr to 90k/yr
depending on where you are and their talent level
the one and only
except for some random dude in spain that also uses RoyAwesome as their steam profile name
you been good bud?
ya
nice
I will have to get drinks with him or something
I haven't seen him since Germany
this will be my first pax although I went with roy here to steam dev days last year which is in the convention center here in seattle

hey everyone, I was wondering if i could get some free private tuition on unreal engine
ive got noughts and crosses in mind but have no idea how to start it
Hope I'm in the right channel for this!
Good evening (EST) people! I'm setting up a casual & non-obligatory development team for the purpose of portfolio creation and improvement. I am looking particulary for relative beginners and intermediately experience developers of all sorts of skills.
Basically the gist of it is that there will be a small discord group of people who will be working together to make practice games & practice projects which we can use to add to our portfolios and to help ourselves improve in our field of work. This will allow us to gain more experience as we endeavour to make careers out of our hard work.
If anyone is interested please direct message me on discord ๐
A few details:
-There will be no obligations to stay active for long periods of time
-There will be no obligations to participate in every project (since we have other obligations that come first)
-Basically we'll be brainstorming and forming ideas in a fun and friendly way
-Hopefully we'll end up creating something that will benefit us all.
For more details just DM me :)
Thank you!
Intresting idea
@dusty jolt gotta start somewhere ๐
Definitely need two separate job channels <@&213101288538374145> one for paid. One for not paid.
@empty star true true, bit of advice tho u only want high quality work in your portfolio, as when i look at peoples work as company owner if i dont see anything decent in first 15 seconds i tend to close it
@kindred mason I would do it way different
@dusty jolt duly noted. I personally wouldn't use half of my practice work for my portfolio, and that's why it's so small haha. I only value a few parts of my work
Dont get me wrong tho its also bad to just have 1 thing haha
I wrote my own discord bots and I would advice to have a DataBase in the background (mongoDB for example).
Then let users add their stuff via simple bot commands. Later you can query for paid, nonpaid etc and get the results as DM
Something like that
Instead of the weird pin system
^ So much this.
Oh yeah for sure. Until I'm confident in what else I can do I only identify as a level designer of a very basic form LOL
Still waiting for @tawny kayak to allow pull requests to the bot
Hey everyone, I'm wondering if anyone wants to collab. I'm working on my own games but I'm more of a designer/illustrator.
I realise a dev(s) to focus more on game mechanics would accelerate the workflow. I have tons of assets and want to start a 2D starcraft style RTS
This is unpaid collab but our goal would be to rain crowdfunding, I would also focus on marketing etc.
@kindred mason <@&213101288538374145> Maybe a "Collaboration" channel
@ember plover that might be the channel I was aiming for too :v
Could benefit from having 2 seperate, but read only channels that get the messages through a command like @granite brook says, so there's no unneeded talking there
Three separate channels
I don't consider Royalty as Paid
So that would be in unpaid section
But talking in here is very beneficial tbh
Instead of some database that pings backs stuff in PMs
I mean it works in every other discord
(but they have 3+ channels for jobs)
Paid, unpaid, something like collaboration
There's going to be two separate channels soon: one for discussion, one for job posts created by DMing Unrealbot.
If that doesn't work out in practice, we'll make changes accordingly.
Ahum. #server-feedback. :P
:( should make it three though. Easier for people to see at a glance. Oh, these guys want $$$, these guys are free.
Either way. I hope there is a "naming convention" enforced by bot.
@ember plover check ur DMs, i sent u a request
I was referring to #lfw and #joboffers, not #paid and #unpaid
With the bot, we can enforce Rolalty/paid/unpaid anyway
so no need for it anymore
And we can take it over to #server-feedback
Someone let me know if a channel pops up for small collab groups then x) otherwise I'll just advert it here ๐
Offer still stands if anyone wants to join a casual collab group ๐
I agree... paid, unpaid and colab channels would be good
I find this chan frustrating due to that..
true.
paid , unpaid, and we might pay but apply at your own risk!
and the "you pay US to work for us" section.
:-p
in soviet russia you pay salary :-p
I would like to see the channel more like...
Looking for Job
and Job offer...
Currently those are mixed...
Paid unpaid royalty isnt a big deal tbh, its the first word of every post.
Like the forums are build up?
I think it would be better, i e.g. got a job offer becasue im in a dev team already... so i search single persons for the project. Just an idea.
That thing looked enormous on mobile. So tiny on my monitor.
Oh ok lol sry
I kinda liked that ad personally... a little diff to the normal text... it's still unclear tho.. might wanna do that up a bit ๐
if discord had message threads it'd make alot of sense, you could have one for each posting in paid / unpaid
@torpid atlas ๐
NOTICE: Before you read this, you must know that this game is not in development yet, we are just hiring our team members before hand so we dont have to worry about it in the future.
Looking For: 3 UE4 Blueprints Programmers, a 3D Modeler and/or Animator, Concept Artist, UE4 Level Designer, Composer
My Exp.: I have developed 2 other UE4 Games total and one of them is going to the market.
Project: Boltrun - The player is constantly walking, when the player presses W, he starts sprinting, and shift goes even faster. The player must advance through a series of obstacles to get to the checkpoint to advance to the next round while sprinting the whole time. The player can unlock abilities the faster the player completes the level.
Length of Project: About 6 months to a year.
Split %: This project is a revenue share, the game will be sold for $14.99 on GameJolt. No pay during development.
Contact: DM me on Discord or email me:
starlightpictures@outlook.com
Thanks for reading!
Outlook? I haven't heard that name in years
Lol
My main email
I hate gmail, sry
Do u know anybody who would fit those roles? @vernal wolf
Unpaid? No
Oh ok, thats fine. Thx for your time. @vernal wolf
just hiring
No pay during development
๐
Yeah unpaid/royalty I don't really know anyone that'd bite.
But i like rev share cause when i dont have money, i can share the money i make with the people that helped... @digital gate
Yeah its better than truly unpaid
Yea
But I've never seen a cent from a royalty project
Even the one I worked on that released
Well im getting the game published with tinyBuild so hopefully that helps
That's got less to do with the model and a lot to do with the uh.... ahem project.. uh... lead.
But its still a glaring problem I have with revshare
personally
I think we should limit the usual royalty discussion to Mondays and Fridays.
I have no real justification for this.
๐
Ok
This channel loves to attack royalty unpaid, but hey, so do I
lets talk about how its pointless but we all do it some more
Aye
[ROYALTY][CONTRACT]
Hello all my peoples! We are currently trying to fill two positions for game developement. Both positions are under contract for royalty payments on the initial release and continue 5 years post final release date.
Who we are: Three Peak Studios is a brand new developement studio (was Cooper Mountains Studios, but an appartment building says our names are too close. figures). We will be developing a post appocolyptic RPG game (no zombies). We are getting ready to enter the developement phase next week and could use a music/sound specialist and a 3d modeling specialist.
Music/Sound specialist:
easily one of the most important positions we need filled. We need music to set the moods for the different levels and sounds to add more realism to the game. You should be well versed as to how music files interact in the game as well as be able to make flawless loops.
Experience: Must have experience making realistic sound effects. Must have experience making soft background music to loud epic moments in the game.
3D modeler/animator:
We need some one that is well versed in 3d apps like blender to make 3d characters and assets to be placed in the game. You will be working along side me and our level designer to make the game the best game it can be.
Experience: Basic experience with blender, skeleton rigging, drawing, and animating characters and other assets.
For more information or to apply, please PM me. If your applying, please include some samples of your work.
Thanks for reading!
[PAID][CONTRACT]
Weโre a stealth AI (artificial intelligence) company building a way to train AI within the Unreal game engine. Youโll be working with two highly talented Unreal developers and myself (https://www.linkedin.com/in/daeil/). In general weโre looking for an amazing C++ developer and a technical artist to join us on a month to month contract basis that could lead to full-time with possible equity for the right person.
Technical developer: Weโre looking for someone with years of engine experience (4+ years) in C++ and Unreal. This is not negotiable and you should be able to pick up esoteric parts of the engine without needing a ton of hand-holding. Extra bonus to folks with knowledge of real-time global illumination techniques (VXGI) and can work directly with the graphics buffer. If the sound of procedural generation in Unreal sounds amazing to you, contact us.
Technical artist: Are you interested in pushing the boundaries of photorealism? Can you make anything look photorealistic using pre-bought assets (which we have thousands of) and libraries such as Megascans, Speedtrees, and Substance? Since most of our levels will be procedurally generated, weโre looking for someone who can broadly apply their artistic insights to the procedural pipeline for a variety of environments (interiors, nature, etc).
We care a lot about getting the right people and we work with the highest degree of respect and kindness towards one another. For both of these positions, please provide a portfolio of your work and if that looks good, we will ask that you chat with our developers to assess fit and promise.
COMPENSATION
To be upfront, we are looking at a full-time involvement at a flat rate of $7.5K/month initially. If youโre a great fit, the compensation can go higher (we are backed with Silicon Valley money). Preference is given to folks in the NE (especially NYC), but remote is fine too, especially for the right talent. Please DM if youโre interested and good luck!
@real summit Whatever you guys are cooking up, sounds like it'll be awesome (hopefully something public, so we can see how it turns out!)
Thanks! We're super excited and plan to release what we're doing in about two months. We're at a point where we're looking for some great talent, so please let me know if you know of anyone who can fulfill any of those roles!
@real summit Depends, you say remotely, will you allow Non-US Citizens to apply?
Perhaps, we require a very strict NDA for this project and we need to place a lot of trust in another person to ensure that this source code doesn't get out
so my preference is to be a citizen and close by, but everything is open to negotiation depending on the right person
Looking for a team, I am a 3d modeler that uses blender here is my most recent work, my prefered art style is stylized realistic or post apocalyptic. I am looking for unpaid work with no royalty just so I can build a portfolio - Thanks HooknCook
Project Name: Sacrament
Role Required: System Designer (Other roles welcome to apply as well)
Team Size: 60+
Project Length: 2-4 years until launch (rough estimate currently)
Compensation: Rev-share with future paid options once funding is available.
Responsibilities:The Sacrament System Design team will be finishing the finer details of the game's system designs (such as crafting recipes and the components, where those components come from, items found throughout the world as loot or obtained through other means, NPC names and placement, and other minutia involved in the overall game itself). The major systems are already designed, we just need all of the fine details that make up the small elements of each system created in design documents and spreadsheets. Those interested in the position must also have good communication skills, able to read and write in English proficiently, and must be able to work with others in a team setting. Applicants must also be of legal age in order to sign an NDA and further paperwork if the applicant is accepted.
Project Description: Sacrament (http://www.sacramentgame.com/) is a game that looks to bring players back to the fundamentals of MMORPGโs in the areas of grouping, progression, community, and of course challenge! Through 28 classes, a large world filled with content, and enemies that challenge you from day 1; our team hopes to bring players an experience that is both unique and challenging every time players log in. With the upcoming release of our Basic Combat Build, we hope to not only build our community but also build up our team size as well (MMORPGโs certainly need a large team). To learn more about the project, please feel free to look at our website linked above or feel free to send me a PM.
@vague tartan You realize that you can have a completely valid contract with a minor? Just get their parent/guardian to sign too. The exact same legal implications as an on-minor
[Royalty]
Hey, I'm looking for some People who wonna build a adventure jump&run with for GC 2018. PM me if you are interested or if you have any questions.
I think i will clean everything that is older than 1-2 weeks later
Although that's already done
Nvm
@hybrid phoenix Indeed and that has been the case for a few talented members of our team however it's been the decision of our management to only consider folks able to sign for themselves as we have had issues with younger developers even in the 18 to 22 age range in the past. If a individual though possesses a strong skill set and a willingness to work, we do make exceptions. Regardless, the decision of my superiors is their decision and I have to respect it while doing recruitment.
Alright, I see, was just raising the point due to the "in order to sign" part.
No worries. I appreciate your interest in the matter.
@here [PAID] Okay, so i need someone with very high experience in Maya, and Intermediate (or better) in unreal engine. I am going from Blender to Maya, and wanna learn the workflow between maya and unreal engine. however, i want to bring a lot of the features and keybindings form blender to maya to speed up my workflow, so you have to understand key rebinding in maya. Also, find solutions to tools that are not in maya, such as having individual origin points of two separate selected mesh islands, https://gyazo.com/f0908ceb3e100863729aced039e20bc9 like this. i could not figure out how to do this in maya for instance, and there will be a lot of things like this. Ive been doing 3D for 4 years, so im far from a beginner, i just want to tralslate my skils from one program to another. Voice chat, with screenshare through discord. 8 bucks per hour
^lol
(found the rate going higher by a dollar every so often a bit comical, my bad)
PM me btw if ur interested, im probably not going to check here very often.
@fleet lagoon You're asking for quite a bit for only $8/hr
The type of person you really want will be at the very least double that price
well its not a fulltime job either.. its something that we might do like 2-5 times
That's even worse then
mind you, im a student with limited resources
hey guys
is anyone available for a (very) quick job? I need something fixed up in a VR blueprint that's loading UE savedgames so that the hand controllers have spheres attached to them
for an MR recording
Job bot still down eh
yup
Hey everyone
We are a new york city based virtual reality company that is in the process of programming
a few VR games for the htc vive and a few other devices. We thought weโd check to see if there are any experienced Unreal programmers in the new york city area interested in programming VR in Unreal. Our Office/Production Studio is based in Manhattan, there is a paid position open to work in a team of 3 programmers on some of these apps.
If so, please donโt hesitate to contact me
Thanks :~}

Hello guys i am looking for a real game project byside my study at the university. I like 70's-90's Neon Future like Games.. musicstyle mostly synthwave. I do this work for free, if you have small budget, i just want to push my porfolio with a game. I do Modelling, texturing.
Hello. I am looking for team mates to work on a project called Arms of Redemption. I am in need of a level designer, artists, and programmer. The project is non funded, as I am trying to create a demo to become funded. Here is some art work and some work in progress for the game. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/P4dg4 If interested please private message me and I will get back to you right away. Thanks.
(Paid and you work on your schedule)
Hello everyone, I have a game entirely planned out story and gameplaywise and I am looking for some 2D animators and programmers to make it happen. I am currently on my phone so I don't have any files to link but if you dm me i have some examples andI will pay directly for work and hopefully after we make a demo or two we can crowdfund it!
-Sketch
I have concept art and story outline and systems in place for the game documented
if you want to any more dm me
ty and have a wonderful (holi)day
I will negotiate your pay with you once we discuss the project
I have direct funds so no waiting for payment
@primal tree - are you sure you want to do 2D in Unreal?
@lilac walrus I am not surre but from what I am trying to do people said try this engine so here I am, I write and am a stddent, coding is not my forte
@crude solstice i guess u search paid Work?
no
@primal tree - You can do 2D in UE4, but generally speaking there are better options
Some friends told me about here
I might suggest looking at GameMaker Studio as an example
@lilac walrus / ah thank you
there are a few different 2D engines that people use, but that's a very common one
I just don't like the look of game maker studio tbh
me either, however it does deliver results
UE4 doesn't have much in the way of features when it comes to 2D, and it's not great when it comes to performance or package size
@pine scarab No way, all free brother
I've heard good things about Love as well, may be worth looking into
possibly also Cocos2D
well crap, I was hoping I was in the right place, darn
Godot, another good option, IIRC
@crude solstice i will DM u shortly i Look for people
Well I am trying to make kind of horro based survival game where each level is a new story, can you suggest which engine I use based on that? I don't have the funds to try all of them sadly XD
several of the ones I named are free, hehe
if you're paying for programming, Godot is probably a good option
I'd look at these two:
https://love2d.org/
https://godotengine.org/
ty
@lilac walrus TY! The LOVE engine looks like what I am looking for, I want to make a game simalir to http://store.steampowered.com/app/530370/Warlocks_Tower/ But with better graphics and a darker feel to it, would it still be appropriate?
Warlock's Tower is punishing puzzler with elegantly designed levels around one brutal rule - one move equals one life lost.
$9.99
to my knowledge both Love and Godot are fairly applicable to a broad range of 2d games
ah wait
I found a game engine that made a commercial game the has the look I want https://www.yoyogames.com/showcase/3/death-s-gambit
but it isn't free
hmmmmmm
your thoughts?@lilac walrus
I haven't worked with any of them specifically, but they are all supposed to be good options
If you're considering paying for programmers/artists, an engine's cost (especially a low cost one like game maker) shouldn't be that much of a worry though. Anyway, game maker is generally quite a nice engine ๐ (and it offers a free version too if I recall correctly)
You might be able to find a bundle on humble bundle for cheaper also
it is frequently on sale, but I would not count on that
ty
I found another game that looks like how I invision my own game
they are both 2d/2.5d games
I simply can't afford or seee this being 3D
@crude solstice is it ok if I pm you? I'll be looking for 3d modelers pretty soon
@true magnet no problem buddy
Still looking for a 2D animator and level designer for a large project, dm for info ty

Any one interested in UE4 level designing for a horror game - non paid work for now , but after the level design be done, will go for kickstarter , working at Novum studio - for more info please PM me , this is the trailer of the game - https://youtu.be/aZXqyVJscR0
anything new unpaid
I am nearly finished with my game but I have no moddeler
do you have any examples of your work?
@plucky hatch
Poor people sure do ask for a lot
Also at this stage, you should move to PMs if you're interested
if the guy wants experience then I can give him that oppertunity, my wealth, or rather my lack therof should have nothing to do with it
I don't understand your point yes it went right over my head, care to explain then?
i feel like everyone wants to do horror games cause its the easiest one.. but they all turn out shit..
cheap jumpscares, character with flashlight, creepy character
if all you want is experience, then do ur own thing. you dont need a team to get better as an artist.
in fact i recomend not working in a team if all you want is to get better, so you can focus on what you want and at your phase.
The reason horror games kinda suck, is because none of these job requests are ever looking for anyone who can tell a story.
Of course, that's the reason most games suck.
The reason why horror games suck is cuz they dont support VR like RE did ๐ Masterpiece
I still look for C++ Programmers and a 3D Modeler for our FPS game... its unpaid and i directly feel doomed by that word.
I don't think there is anything wrong with unpaid. Have a good and well thought out plan. A pro is probably not likely to jump on board, but a lot of talented novices should.
Split that rev share up, evenly! But there's a billion fps games.
Well we could discuss that but i dont want to offtopic this channel... i keep try to find some people.
Paying $50 an hour for anyone who can help me implement my stupid foliage system which should be easy to fix. It's just a very inconsistent system. Must be able to be done in 4.17 vanilla with no engine modifications.
Total time should be 1-2 hours.
Private Message me for details.
Overview: Hello everyone! My name is Riley and I am developing an indie game called Boltrun and I am looking to sell it for $15.00 on GameJolt. This will be unpaid besides revenue share. We will discuss that privatley.
Game: Boltrun - For more information on story, lore, and overview, please DM me.
My Exp.: I have worked one one FNAF Fangame before this that was not sold. So im not very familiar with the financial industry yet.
Roles Needed: If you are, or now anybody who can fit these roles on the memo post below, please let me know! Thank you!
Length: About half a year (hard to tell)
Split: We will discuss this when the game is sold...
Thanks for applying! Thank you for you interest in my game and have a great day!

@plucky hatch C++ or BP?
@hybrid phoenix ive asked him he hasny responded yet...
Hey everyone!
I know this question is pretty vague, but still:
How much it costs to make a low-poly (middle-poly?) 3D model of a character with rigging, animation and textures based on a concept art images and sketches?
(cross-post with #graphics )
@peak wadi I assume you would need to ask artists in private.
We don't talk about rates/money here.
@granite brook hmm ok, sorry. Just I don't know anyone here so maybe someone who want to answer will tell me in PM ๐
That's basically them sharing their rates with you.
I doubt that every artist here has the same quality and rate.
Your best luck is to properly describe what you want, send them the concept art etc. and then wait for a quotation
Id like to get someone on board my game, to finish one part of it (involves widgets etc) whilst i work on another part, rn my game consists of me as the only dev, would be great to get some help for this part, willing to give full credit in game and youll be a playable Character!
@graceful vault hey! what's your projec about? do you have any videos or something?
also how you suggest to collaborate?
@peak wadi The project is a 3rd person semi open world game, I have a full 6chapter story, two writers a composer and artist, the game has fully fleshed characters and mission list. I dont have any videos yet as im working on it when I feel ready ill post more about it. But for the collaboration id be down to send you a few screenshots of what the current situation is and what needs to be done, really its just merging two things together and re arrangement, PM me if you are interested!
@graceful vault no, I mean technically, are you using some version control system, or how? Or you're want someone just make separate assets and you will insert them into the game by yourself?
Well id have to send you both projects that need merging realistically
its a settings menu, and a main menu id like soembody to merge the two together
@graceful vault ok, I see... I'd like to participate, but for now I don't have any time, because of full-time job and own game project %) BTW tried to look for anyone interested in participation as well... %)
[PAID] [LFW]
I'm primarily a level designer, with a focus on natural environments and gameplay flow, with four years of experience in CryEngine and World Machine (4 years), Unity (2 years) and Unreal Engine (1 year).
Having been the only in-engine guy on my own project's team, though, I'm also capable of lots of things relating to Blueprint and VFX (Specifically materials and dynamic lighting). As such, I'm capable of doing most things in the engine, if with a bit of extra work. Current BP work ranges from inventory systems to custom movement for AI entities, so there's definitely room for job offers there, too.
Landscapes cost a flat fee depending on the complexity. In-engine work requires a bid to determine fair pricing for the complexity of the task.
TLDR:
- 1.5 Years of Experience in UE4
- 4 Years of Experience as Level Designer
- Experienced in using World Machine
- Capable of creating complex Blueprint Systems and Materials
Source assets are only sent after payment.
Are there any artists that are looking for creditable work? I need someone to design my games characters, will provide full credit and make the artist a character within the game! can be 2D /3D or both preferably.
Hello again! @graceful vault
You too! Lol @graceful vault

[UNPAID] Good afternoon everyone, I am here on behalf of our computer science student group at University La Rochelle, France. We are running a private research project on Artificial Intelligence on Unreal Engine 4. The aim is to make the AI learn the play style of other players (NPC/Human) and use it against them. To demonstrate the result, we decided to make a small WW1 Online FPS to test our idea.
We also formed a small discord group to recruit volunteers to help us. If you need a playground to show off your talent, as well as a small reference for your profile, you can apply for the following posts:
- 3D Modeller (urgent): medium-high quality character / weapons /props - Verdun (game) standard
- Voice actor (urgent): fluent speaker in French (metropolitan) and Russian (any).
- Level designer: extensive knowledge of WW1, medium-large maps
Kindly note that we do this project out of passion and curiosity, with no commercial aim. To assure the benefit of 3d artists who join us, you will have "collaborator" status: you own every right (even commercial) to your creations and grant us exclusive rights to use it for our project.
Please contact me privately or join our discord group, #recruitment. We are looking forward to meet you!
Thank you for your time and attention!

[ROYALTY]
Looking For: Modelers | Texture Artists | Animators | Sound Producers
My Exp: I'm the project leader and main programmer.
Project:
We are doing this project as a hobby.
We have already started, we are aiming to release in Early Access in about 2-3 month or maybe more.
Here are some of the key features of the game:
- Scifi Fantasy Style
- Survival Stats
- Character Attributes
- Skills system to unlock craftables.
- Can tame, ride and breed creatures.
- Each creature will have a use and there will be more than 1 taming method for all the creatures.
- Advanced Building System
- A big map with different biomes to explore and build in.
- Interesting Lore
Split: Depending on the sales, we will talk about that when we get close to release.
Possibly looking for an unreal engine tutor, need to gauge prices per hour
Noob question: If you buy a bunch of assets off the marketplace and use them in a game or parts of them:
- is it normal to credit the creator of the assets?
- is it good style to credit the creator of the assets?
- not required?
@pearl basin depending on what type of game you do and especially the scale i would say. if you make a major game, yes i would credit them. its the same as you credit the people that help you making it. if its just a small thing without lots of credits i maybe wouldnt. but that again depends on how many assets you use and where you use them. if you like used 90% marketplace assets of a specific guy, of course i would credit them, but i wouldnt credit the creator of the teapot in a huge game if thats the only asset i used. again, it depends on where you put the credits
if its 10 minutes end credits anyway, yeah i would list everyone just for fariness. but then again, i wouldnt list them on top. so not totally sure about the visibility.....
as of requirements. IANAL and i havent used marketplace really myself, but i dont think its required (dont rely on that :P)
yeah, well... im just thinking, that if i was making a game, and got help from a dude that wanted to help out in return for getting his name on the credits list, his name would maybe drown in names from bought assets
if that makes sense?
that entirely depends on how you put both
and frankly that wouldn't be fair to that volunteer.. but again... i don't know people usally do
no need for wall of texts
ok thats nice to know @kindred mason
BUT
If you start seeing PUBG starting to do it (credit their original asset owners)
Meh, maybe jump on that train as a nice dev.
Until then....move it along.
not understood: the part with PUBG?
You know the game?
shiiiit, they earned that much?
95% Marketplace Assets
omg
@kindred mason straight up
you can say a lot about victor, but you can't ever accuse him of dodging around points
@pearl basin You credit them if the liscence says you must credit them. read the liscences
i kinda assumed there was a "normal" way of doing that stuff
can you sell an asset with the requirement that you should be mentioned in the credits if you use it?
sounds kinda weird to me
@real hinge Marketplace does not allow that
Not Unreal Marketplace anyway
All's fair in love and war as long as it's an Unreal Engine 4 game
Outside of that, no idea
Read the fine print
so anyway... is it good practice anyway to mention authors of assets used?
Did PUBG?
no idea
I mean, this is what my answer will always be
Follow up their logic to $80 million
even tho i would love to make a game that makes that much money, i don't think thats gonna happen
im just asking around what is normal to do
so i don't step on someones toes
That's such a divisive topic though
Like, completely 100% opinion based
You do you
ok... hmmm.... but u said "not needed"
yes, and also what was good practice
anyway this is #career-chat lol
those two things are not the same
I would have just googled the question
@real hinge sry, none of the other groups really mactched my question either
(shutting up)
๐ฌ
Please keep jobs channel clear :)
Also, when asking for tutoring. Please try and be a bit more in depth. It could be that you're looking for a generalist, but otherwise, adding whether you're looking for someone who knows c++ or level design could make it easier for potential canidates ๐
Okay so possibly looking for an unreal engine tutor, need to gauge prices per hour. PM me your hourly rates and questions, info etc
I would like to focus on:
Blueprints, lighting, possibly random level gen, HUD/GUIs, and online multiplayer
Seeing how this is also about resume stuff...
Working on an artstation to get an art portfolio going
Honest opinions, pretty please? โค
I would add tri counts to stuff like your trees as well as LOD because that's what people are going to want to see. Looking good is just half the requirement.

No need to actually follow the channel.
And that's much more true with automatic pin management, which the mods of the server don't have control over. I'd agree that banning the usual royalty discussion might not be a bad idea, but there's also the search function so you can look for keywords if you want so trying to moderate message frequency doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Scrolling will never be an effective means to sift through a discord channel IMO.
But then whose fault is that? Having this place for jobs is a great resource but it shouldn't be your only resource.
If we start discussing Server Features, we might go to #server-feedback
hey im very new to unreal engine but im making atm my own game so if you can help me with simple blueprints or may help me with my world design it would be awesome!
Mhhh alright ...
@CHR#0388 do you mean me?
#blueprint for BP help
Lol no someone said that when im searching for people who can help me with my game im not asking how @kindred mason
@topaz jungle ok. But make your intentions much more clear
K
Nothing in that first statement made it seem like 1) you put any effort, 2) you were looking for collaboration or to hire people or 3) what exactly you want
Please look at the pinned messages for some examples.
Except the top one right now
No idea why that was pinned
But I guess it has a redirect. Meh.
Guys what do you think is a reasonable price to hire a dev for an RTS game? Obviously I cant go into much detail here. I just want the basic game mechanics which I can scale up
Depends on the dev, the project, the time on it etc
Search for programmers that meet your qualifications.
Ask their rate via their forms of contact (email for example).
Make sure to give as much information as possible about the project (with or without NDA).
And then check if you can pay their rate
Applies to all devs
There are two RTS templates in the marketplace which are about 50% of what I have in mind. Using those templates its more fleshing out details
I'll also give the forums a go
Would still need the dev to refactor the marketplace project into what you want
I usually require a bullet point list of features + additional information like "is it c++ or bp only?" " Multiplayer or Singleplayer" ? etc
@granite brook pure genius
We need an FAQ up in here
!jobs
pm people faq
!lfm pm people those who are Seeking jobs
!lfg pm people those Seeking Members for jobs
Or w/e
My bot has !info shortcode
@kindred mason When I ship the new bot commands for posting jobs, the pins will be a good place to put an FAQ.
How to reply, how to keep an eye out for scammers, etc.
And of course the commands and how to use them.
@plucky hatch paid?
@tawny kayak simple !help jobs + PM with command explanation should be enough
Might be worth to make channels for the posting that delete wrong formated posts, send the post via pm (so it's not lost) and explain the user the command
[Low Paid]
We're looking for a group or individual who can produce high quality enviroment object packs.
The game will be a first person shooter, produced by a small indie team on a tight budget.
Each pack will make up 1 level, the size of each level to fill will be 505 x 505, in total we will require a minimum of 10 packs, so this will lead to ongoing work.
In the near future we will also require weapons, characters and animations.
On average 5 different large enterable buildings, the theme to vary per level.
On average 10 different medium enterable buildings, the theme to vary per level.
A varierty of walls, fences and other props to complete the theme of each level, ranging from crates to trash bins to wrecked vehicles etc
DM for more info if interested.
<@&213101288538374145> please delete @plucky hatch recent post or you are setting a spamming precedence on here. He literally just posted two days ago.
Sorry buddy. That's just not allowed.
We have pinneed messages for a reason.
That one isn't even pinned. That's probably why he reposted.
Hmmmmmmmm. I fail then.
But still doesn't matter really
Could have just asked for a pin.
But if you are allowing posts every two days, should be good times in this channel.
You're not allowed. He probably just should've asked for a pin instead.
As if I scroll up to check if someone posted that already
It's a sh*tty system atm anyway
Aye. Lol
I am just saying. I didn't want people to get the wrong idea.
It's fine. Thanks for caring
@plucky hatch it's just how he is, he meant nothing ill, I'm guessing. ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
Nah, Victor didn't mean anything bad. Just wanting to keep this place a little clear.
And rightly so

[PAID WORK] Unreal engine 4 - Level designers- 3D artists - job offer for a studio based in Virigina USA remoately work , if anyone interested PM me
[ROYALTY]
Looking For: Modelers | Texture Artists | Animators | Sound Producers
My Exp: I'm the project leader and main programmer.
Project:
We are doing this project as a hobby.
We have already started, we are aiming to release in Early Access in a few months.
Here are some of the key features of the game:
- Scifi Fantasy Style
- Different creature tiers
- Survival Stats
- Character Attributes
- Skills system to unlock craftables.
- Can tame, ride and breed creatures.
- Each creature will have a use and there will be quite a few different taming methods for different creatures and tiers.
- Advanced Building System
- A big map with different biomes to explore and build in.
- Interesting Lore
Split: Depending on the sales, we will talk about that when we get close to release.
PSA:
Don't be afraid to fail. Especially on your first contract job. Your first few contracts might be tough, or a breeze. Making mistakes and learning from them is critical.
Don't accept jobs that you have no business accepting. I.E., if you take a Single Player->Fully Replicated gig, I would hope that you actually knew how to do it.
If you do accept a job and it's a bit over your head, you have a few options available to you:
a) Keep at it until you destroy all obstacles
b) Tell your client you will not be able to do the task asked and refund the money
c) Try to get external help, be it via subcontracting (paying someone for help) or a more open (and free) format like Discord/Facebook
Regardless, keep track of the amount of hours it takes per job. It should give you a rough estimate on how long future jobs may take, and you can gauge rates/milestones. Time management is crucial. Good luck out there!
@tacit hare That isn't your image, is it?
it is not , as i said it is an example of the project
Yeah, but that's an incredibly vague sentence ๐
I've had a lot of people in the past who seemed to think claiming other people's work was okay
And like I said, the sentence was just vague. It could mean either
Dude, you wrote remotely/remote work as remoately work
Don't think it's my English
An example of my house
^
*if things go well
I'm having this conversation not because you rejected me, but because your job description is vague
Which is just a waste of everyone's time
But yeah, moving on
Just wanted to ask that
Now that's just toxic
'-'
I thought you weren't getting into a boring argument with me
potato*
But anyway, yeah, but I know what your potato is. I don't know what your job offer pertains to
Concept Artists: Hard surface? Organic? Environments?
Programming: Networking? Gameplay? AI?
I'm giving feedback
Yes you did
You told me to teach you
<3
Oh wow
Sure
Go delete your own messages
:stuck_out_tongue:
So you cut out the messages that put you in poor light
yeh go all the way
Anyway
I'm just letting this be
Hope you enjoyed your boring argument
For those annoyed that all the job postings are now so far up, by the way, all the current ones are pinned

hi people, still available, 3D asset artist here
@crude solstice if I were looking for a 3d artist, I wouldn't even bother trying to get into contact with you.
You need to sell yourself more.
There are plenty of 3d artists. Look at the other pinned messages as an example of how things should be done.
oh cheers mate
that's why you should probably learn to ask more questions as well as a possible employer
I could surprise you
Hmm. No.
aaallrighty then
i'm not looking for your type of person
I am trying to help you out here kiddo
thank you for the tip though
, relax
K
@kindred mason it's a long wounded way of asking my portfolio, but here it is, for your interest, the reason i didn't send it is because i already sent it on this channel and didn't want to repost: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGy2AREu95MTAoSMVZiukUA?view_as=subscriber
tinyurl.com/thomaspaul
I don't think I am bleeding
@crude solstice I don't see you in pinned messages
I'm an old timer
Anyway, look at the other pinned messages for an example of how you should present yourself for employability.
next time, if you're interested in someone, send them a private message as not to spam the jobs board
There was no spamming going on in this channel
like a lovely gentleman did right after i sent my message
okay buddy
do you need a 3D artist?
This channel is used for discussion on all matter pertaining to jobs.
Including other people's posts if there are questions or concerns.
my job application was pinned a while ago, I guess maybe it was removed?
If old enough, then yes.
either way, I would never dismiss someone like your reply, it's an exercise in futility
Which is why just simply stating, "oh btw everyone I am still available for work, 3d artist." Doesn't really say much to anyone actually looking.
it doesn't?
it says something to the people who know his work...
I'm sure if people are looking they would bother to send a message
but yes, most people here are not really selling them selves hard
how many people know about 3D art?
we all are making assumptions here
absolutely
He could be the greatest thing since sliced bread
And people would pass him up since he didn't even care enough to muster up some effort into his post.
that's true, i could, that's why you should never dismiss someone like you did
but juizoi brought a point i haven't considered before
That's what I was getting at anyway.
juizoi - Today at 6:49 PM
i'm not looking for your type of person
that's true
maybe certain job posts attract certain people .. who knows
agreed, and i got a message from someone straight afterwards, so everyones a winner
I sent my portfolio and youtube channel if you're interested victor, that shows my work
and for anyone else interested, I have experience with Ubisoft Singapore, Framestore and I'm currently head of digital innovations at A.J. Morrisroe

The instructions have been moved to #more-resources so moderators don't have to keep repinning them.
Thanks, Nick!

@pine scarab Would be nice if you would also read Nick's (pfist) post.
The auto pinning is on again. Please read #more-resources (top most post) for it.
We are not going to pin each message from now on.
Sorry i will... but u cant expect me to read all the nonsense. I hope this will change that. And thanks!
What "nonsense"?
I dont know the 280 messages between the 3 posts about jobs maybe ๐
This is a channel to discuss jobs
not only to post them
No one forces you to read them
When i look for people im kinda forced dont you think? And is there a reason why only 1 person comments every post? Is fine we had that 2 weeks ago already.
I can deal with it its still bullshit.
I hope that bot helps me to filter
You don't seem to understand.
You check the pinned messages for people.
I already told you to read #more-resources.
It's posted in there at the top.
Iยดve read it 3 times already... am i blind?
oh does it now directly work with [PAID]?
That's how it was before the bot broke, yes
And dosnt it work cuz i made - F2P?
Yeah, it needs to be the exact term
Im confused but i was added with unpaid F2P
Ah u did it thank you in advance... cedric
Yes, I manually pinned it
Any chance you could delete that?
too big?
And just link a doc?
sure
I mean, looks like you're going to just keep adding to the list ๐
Might be easier to just link a GoogleDoc or something
ok
Also, look at the #more-resources message
So you can get auto-pinned
As this is a fan-game (which is tricky at best anyway)
Make sure you let everyone know what legal issues that are present (or have been resolved) with the original devs
Just format it correctly. For example:
Section:
- List item
- List item
- List item
Section:
- List item
- List item
- List item
Just look at the other postings where people are looking for others
Even that will make it far easier to read.
Or that yeah
what do I put if pay is optional?
if you're either working for exposure, or passion, etc you can opt out of being paid which will save the games budget for other things. but if you desire to be paid for your work you can opt in to being paid. and you will have to sign a contract.
not like a full corprate contract, just something to ensure the work is done so you don't leave mid project and cheat out the game budget.
Well first off...if this is in regards to the Fan Game
You have other pressing concerns
Excerpt from the doc:
Regarding legal implications:
Fan-games of halo are perfectly legal to make for halo as long as we abide by the following:
-Fans cannot make custom campaigns from the initial release.
-Cannot be commercially sold.
-Has to be an original story and not canon to the main games.
I'm not a lawyer. So don't take my word for poop.
But, the thing is... first, if you try making any money off the game, you are going to get a nice Cease and Desist at the very least, super pronto.
So, if you are not going to make any money off it, what's the point of paying anyone else?
I recommend posting a link to an official statement so applicants can verify the caveats you stated @plucky hatch.
one sec
Then, there's the legal ramifications of anyone else invovled in the project, especially when they get paid
Oh, I wasn't fast enough
I just read up
@tawny kayak can @plucky hatch just PM people who post [UNPAID] listings a premade argument agaisnt unpaid projects, same with royalty ?
and if it contains fan game, same thing?
like when you do the expanded feature set?
a halo modding team by the name of CMT were able to commercially hire paid people for spv3. and 343 has acknowleged the game and have not filed any cease and desists
@digital gate It's technically feasible, yes, but I'm cautious about taking a hard line stance against unpaid projects. I don't encourage working for exposure either, but I think a different approach might be more effective.
Perhaps I can add a mod category.
basically this discussion happens every time
Mods are the common use case here.
not that I've never participated
The new features will handle formatting automatically, so I could feasibly add a caveat at the bottom of mod-related job posts.
in addition there are other halo fangames in unreal greenlit by 343, including installation 01
and installation 01 uses UE4
@plucky hatch OK, find links to official statements regarding those matters - as in the actual statements from 343 - and put those in your job post so applicants understand what they're getting involved with.
will do
You writing it out is not the same thing. I'm talking about sources. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
I understand
So
I'm going to read this. But, that's not an official source by the devs.
Right, so they had to legally get permission from the devs
(they got it via Skype and I assume some legal contracts were exchanged to make it official)
as long as the game operates under Microsoft's Game Content Usage Rules you're in the clear
The devs are probably irrelevant in this case. it's rather a statement by the IP holder you're looking for.
Man, I don't know. IF I were to ever consider a fangame (and most likely, I wouldn't), I would be perstering the dev's legal team until I knew I was 100% in the clear and had it in writing.
But yeah, it says as long as you follow the MGCUR to the letter, you're golden.
@karmic kayak And true. But usually Devs hold the IP.
But, in this case no.
If the Item you create and distribute is a free app, then you must distribute it for free (you can't charge for it), and you also canโt earn any money from advertising in that app.
so what should I do for optional pay?
@plucky hatch So, explain that part one more time please
You are going to pay people to work on the project?
if they opt in yes
But, you expect no income from the project right?
There's no way for you to make your money back
this game will be free and the budget will come out of what I earn at my job
this is a passion project for me
So I think the thing is that you're not clear who would get paid. You can't pay everyone on the project, or you'd run out of money. What's to stop half the people from opting in?
I mean, TBH, I don't know how you are going to "optionally" pay some people while others not
fair point
Right
I think this is something the applicant should be discussing with you
me and @digital gate on the same page
But hey let's do it all here
If you're working with people and not discussing this kind of thing when appropriate you kinda walk into problems when they happen.
hence why I joined this discord. helps me get insight the halo modding community could never provide. (this isn't a mod btw, its being made in UE)
halo CE's modding engine is too limited and primitive for my goals in this game
seriously the halo modding community is cancer
donations are a special case, mayB u can still get those
nah
while I do have patreon and paypal, I would prefer not to be donated anything for this game.
well if u have a company with a logo or something u can still sell t shirts i think ๐
@plucky hatch What is you're game really going to be about?
It's going to be an alternate timeline after halo 3 using bungies principles of gaming
ahh ok, not the best business model but good luck none the less ๐
I'm working on a doc that applicants can read
So it's totally a personal project?
343 criticism project? ๐
to show 343 where they went wrong with the games after reach by fixing them
Oh, 343 is a company?
OK, this is beginning to come together... ๐
Hey folks. My friends at Interactive Fitness in San Diego are looking for professional unreal developers.
yoyo
Hey dude. PM me and we'll talk shop
i'm looking for somebody who can do blender character sculpting over my basemesh, nothing fancy, PM me!
<@&213101288538374145> ^^ just for reference all the places this got spammed (although jobs was the closest)
@tawny kayak would love a #unpaid/parttime-jobs section to root out all the full-time carrer jobs from the side-project/part-time jobs.
Luking 4 A Human Hu Has 1 Hour Per Week Time For A Sphere Controlling Gejm.
@wheat hinge 1. I disagree with that filtering. Paid/Unpaid, sure, but part-time/full-time? Because parttime people don't care of their work pays?
- That is very much #server-feedback - and I don't think you need to tag the admin for it, either 3:
What speaks against having a system where you can add tags to your post
Like up to 5
And users can simply do "!findjobs <tag1> <tag2>"
And then they get a private message with what ever they searched
And maybe a !jobtags" to post common tags
Then everyone can customize their post and search queries
I'd make a standardized bunch of tags though
Doesn't have to. Tags generally evolve
I suppose
If you use a tag that no one knows, it's kinda your loss
We can suggest tags though
Decided my argument wasn't exactly well-put right after saying it xD
You are right about the server feedback channel though
Can't take long until someone with "notifications on" comes in here to annoy me
I
[Paid] I'm looking to hire someone to do one or two fluid simulations to be brought into unreal via alembic. I'm looking for high quality work - Must be able to show examples of fluid simulations. DM me if interested.
@hybrid phoenix The difference is a career offering vs a one off 300 dollar job. There should be a place for professional career posting and a place for everything else.
that said I was tagging him and etc as the conversation was happening here
would rather keep the conversation together than strictly adhear to channel organization which in the end would lose that part of the conversation
I doubt many AAA studios are posting jobs in Unreal Slackers though... I suspect most of the job postings are 1 offs, indie startups with revshare, or short term contracts
you get big studios posting in here from time to time
I mean we would get more if we ensured this was a more profesional area
probably not
Eh. I mean I am at Inxile Entertainment trying to convince them to post jobs here.
the informal nature of Discord is part of the reason why it works
Eh informal doesn't mean unprofessional
Tons of games industry people aren't formal
We need to welcome larger studios and get their jobs in front of more senior developers
@wheat hinge I am a professional ๐ญ
Now, as far as "larger studios" and all that. They usually post in their own website what careers are open
Sometimes they do a press release for gamasutra
or orca
TBH, if you're looking for a "real job"
You are better off looking for it yourself
But I do agree that it would be nice to have it filtered by "Unreal Engine 4"
Yes, that is true for right now but isn't #career-chat suppose to work towards that issue?
The issue is, this particular discord
We've talked about it before in #server-feedback
I am looking for coders reaal bad
Please, please be a bit more specific than that ^^
Please use the correct prefix, explain the project a little & that stuff, some of the pinned messages are bad examples, but there are some good examples too if you want some inspiration ๐
Well if you mean me then:
Im a professional Coder, I import OBJ files ๐
Only one job post every two weeks.
I would suggest you adhere to the guidelines in #more-resources also
@untold granite just dm me
@plucky hatch you can just edit your other post ๐
Alright. @mentioning me something stupid then deleting it right after multiple times is pretty much trolling.
It wasnt intended to be trolling
Did you not read about what happened with the Level Designer and 343?
No
did they design a level?
I should design a level?
Are you threatening me @kindred mason?
That is beyond my capabilities at this point
Huh?
Oh i thought you were telling me to design a level
Lol i doubt someone would deny aqua's job applicaiton to somewhere just because he trolled you
(Insert Roblox Death Noise)
Haha @tall shard
