can really figure out which channel this belongs to so ill just ask it here. i have a door implementation in blueprint which works fine, however it doesnt work after ive networked it. the original implementation has 4 states for the door (open, opening, closed, closing) and the animation is driven by a timeline. im curious if i actually need all 4 states or if i can just have open and closed. if i mark it as open and the animation is still actually opening the door, the door isnt really open, at least not fully which is why opening exists and same for closing. i guess what im asking is how do normal people implement doors which arent instantly open or closed?

Ive had similar with sub levels but I was able to fix it by creating a new copy of that actor and deleting it. Sometimes you'd get actors like hanging references, it wants the actor to be there but its not

ah yeah, I had to do some hacky stuff to fix that

first thing to do is push the UE prerequisites installer to the deck

and then you need to run it under proton. I don't actually know how you'd run an arbitrary executable under proton so I put the prereqs installer in the game directory, pushed it over and set the executable for the game to the prereqs installer

run that once, go through the installer, change the executable back to the game, done.

2013 was the version 1.0 release but it was public beta for a while too

It was inspired by Diablo 2, but everything they have done with the game has made Diablo 2 look like a barebones game. It's fairly complex in terms of how many builds you can make, the crafting is insanely good and the currency all means something. They add content every 3 months and I still play it when new leagues start. Can't fault it.

they have redone the atlas a lot, there are more choices for end game content now too. Its not just maps, you do play maps but in the maps there are multiple new ways to run it.

there is a new atlas passive tree too. It's like the skill tree but purely for maps. So you can juice them how you want to play. If you want to do Expeditions, you can skill it for that, delirium, etc. Play it your way

@zinc matrix I play builds that cost less than one exalt to build and can do end game. If you go meta builds for the league, thats when it costs because everyone wants the same gear

One thing that bugs me about POE is the Maven Fight. I get that it's an end boss, but I simply don't want to run that fight. I used to think Sirus was bad with it's colourblind nightmare and offscreen one shots, but Maven is just too long a fight with really annoying mechanics with the memory game and all

I saw a billion dps build this last league. Legit too, not some path of building exploit for numbers

they made the last two bosses too easy this time around. Which I kind of liked because it felt like I wanted to farm them, but they weren't much harder than Conquerors which suprised me

But like I said, I don't like to go meta because if you don't make 20exalt in the first week, you are always chasing the prices on gear

Especially early on, I remember how awful Dreadout's level design was. Tried to put together visual riddle like Resident Evil, ended up lost for hours with inconsistently triggering audio cues.

I don't know if not improving much on that regard for about 7 years is an achievement, but I'm sure that makes local devs now ended up making borderline visual novels, where level design is next to no importance. (If it's not a mobile title)
