As a child I was bullied. My bully used to racially abuse a local girl (one of the few black people in my town) and would encourage me to do so. When I was 17 I went to a work training scheme and she was there. I expected her to spit on me when she saw me but she came to me with a smile. I apologised and explained why I was doing what I did and she understood. That open heart and forgiveness completely blew my mind. She had every right to claw at my face until I was corned beef. That combined with another event at the time, where I talked to the local National Front leader in a bar, and he was talking about immigrants taking our jobs and making no sense at all. So I kept calling him out on his answers and he had no intelligent response at all. It made me realise he was all rhetoric for the image. So between both events I decided to respect my own intelligence, think for myself and stop being influenced by stupid people.

well its not so much about mimicking reality, just more about making shooters less like sports
even your ultra unrealistic scifi things get this UFC overtone instead of the dry war tone
all the guns are positioned in ways to make them competitive, which is a design choice and not a bad one but it doesnt leave much in the way of diversity
it doesnt really matter the real role of a SAW because what I see in games is a weaker machine gun with more ammo and thats almost universal. There are some exceptions, some games have a heavy machine gun which is more like an LMG but you end up with these balancing tropes which dont lend themselves to a good feel

they have microwave and emp type weapons to try to interfere with the electronics, thats why you got things like Growlers and Frigates which can mess with enemy scanners
even for infantry you need some sort of scrambler if youre out in the open or youre a sitting duck
and unfortunately laser weapons arnt entirely legit, there are a few you could use but if you use them against people thats a war crime 😮

How about a survival game where you start with nothing, have to go through the system being raised in care homes, then you come out and get a drug habit to make you forget about the abuse. Only to find your dealer was the one who abused you. And you end up doing favours for a hit. But if you make one wrong move, he cuts you off and you end up strung out in an alleyway getting passed around the hobos. Sell it with a season pass where you get a chastity belt and some Spice to tide you over.
