Oh yeah, and a few days ago some people were talking about connections breaking when you edit a custom struct. I think that only happens if you split pins instead of using a break node
I ran into that issue yesterday, but solved it by not splitting the transform that's part of my struct

@dense storm I have no clue about the gameplay ability system so take my feedback with that in mind, but overall the main thing that seems to be missing is the AbilityTypes class stuff and maybe some examples of why I would want to create a custom ActorInfo. Otherwise you might wanna do some proofreading and grammar checks, there's a lot of language which could be simplified so it reads better but those are not really huge problems :)

Im personally see some sense on it. Houdini are really like crazy scientific software, so its kinda "upside down". 3d max looks most "simple" and "normal". As i user of 3d max in the past and a bit of maya, and now user of blender - its really make sense for me. I doesnt touch blender before they finally added "industry standart" keymaps, navigation and gizmo. Before it, blender really feels like "that" pose on bike, cause navigation and generally all interaction paradigm was wierd and uncommon in compare to any software, probably excluding ZBrush.

Hotkeys are just one part of a puzzle. Old blender was all about not even a button with text but like just a plain text. Its uncomfortable cause icons are easily to recognize. And iirc the problem with gizmo in old version was in lack of separate gizmo for move, scale, rotate. At least im was only able to enable 1 combined gizmo, not separate.
With nowadays blender it makes less sense cause now UI and navigation looks okay. Currently i see only one reason to switch from blender to something else - blender are not well optimized in edit mode. Hopefully, atm i didnt really suffer from that fact.

I kinda started with Blender directly and I found it quite easy to operate. Using the navigation in some other apps, I find it confusing. UEs may use Maya's I think? If so, that maddenning style. Also Z is quite cool interface. Basically my point is, there is "what you are used to". With what you started and anything different than it, you find weird. Like I still can't imagine why people drool over c#, but here we are 🤷♂️

Reading other peoples code and understanding it and not judging it too harshly is an underrated skill in computer science
Although I am faster reading my own code because it feels like it has the right shape (I think visually a lot) I have learned a lot by being able to see others work and try to figure out how their mind works

When I come back 6 months later or so, I have to go through my code with a logic flow to understand it. I kind of remember what I was doing, but in order to continue with the right methodology of what process was happening before requires some study time. Like my current slot machine project. I know exactly how it works, exactly how a slot machine should work, and yet I am writing flow charts for systemic logic and such so I don't continue with any doubt as to where I was upto and what I was doing, and how I was doing it.

@pearl pewter when you compile the code and the shaders, it sometimes needs to store information. This is done there. But when you have temporary information that can be recompiled, it's best to keep it seperate from your actual code. So it's best there. It can get quite large and often it can get bloated with old information that hasn't been cleaned up etc. The binaries are the compiled out dll's and such for the project so they get rebuilt too. But you can optimise it off to another folder/drive if it's an issue.
