I haven't used a dualshock yet, but I do have a controller with the rumble/vibration function. Honestly, I don't notice it in the middle of gaming. Usually when it activates, I am in the middle of some hectic action and often just ignore it.
I remember it happened later on, but it's not like it made any difference in the gameplay.

It's the 'flakiness' of the shadows at the edges. It's like they are chipping off or losing cohesion in that area for some inexplicable reason (environmentally speaking).

It has a linear storyline, but the world itself is open. Running around murdering zombie hordes created a huge time-challenge series of videos on YouTube.
But, the game itself is quite scary especially in the beginning, because of the zombies targeting you unexpectedly.
So, it might work, BUT we have had some SPECTACULAR failures recently, especially with that one game that was a complete disaster at launch (I forget the name, but it was on Steam).
If the studio is good, the team is good, they have resources, the skills, and discipline to see it through, then yeah, you can make a damn good open-world zombie game.
