I dont keep it a secret but basically its just very advanced AI people (I talk about procedural conversations with lip sync and random realistic events), photorealistically recreating large parts of Vienna, a fully functioning train (which is actually done but I just keep on remodelling it for some reason) and with fully functional I MEAN IT, emergency scenarios, Mod support (which can be done later), obviously advanced weather (which i kinda got already)

I have like 13% of the map built and 80% of the pictures taken

but i focus on functionality first

problem is, i cant stop improving it if you know what I mean. I started in 2020 with barely any know how and this is my 4th Train model already... I keep on resetting my progress. I thought about using MetaHumans but honestly theyre a bit of a pain to work with and also in a train station its hard to optimize the game so well that you can have hundreds of people in there at once

also, the people are modular. So random clothing and hairstyles and accesoires etc

Ah yeah, i know what you mean. Sometimes you get so familiar with certain parts of creative work you have trouble letting go of all that knowledge to go tackle something unknown again

I used to be a professional flash developer and I can tell you from experience. 3d is way easier to do. The limitations of making quality 2d animations are all generally solved with that third dimension to hand. In fact, using a toon shader and outline, you can make way better animations with 3d that look 2d, than you can with 2d.

the fun factor is obviouslyy personal choice, but damn I disliked getting stuck in a 2d animation quandry
