i love taking my non edm enjoying friends to edm shows because i have a feeling that a lot of them would genuinely really enjoy it but never have the thought that they can just like...go to one

i took one of my best friends from back home to go see odesza in kansas city in 2023 and we splurged and got vip tickets and we were at the rail for that show. this was almost 3 years ago and he STILL brings up how much fun it was

he's a huge metalhead and he told me over the weekend that he's seen his favorite band (asking alexandria) and tons of other bands that i am vaguely familiar with and have listened to a little bit beacuse of him but told me that the best concert he's ever gone to was when he and i drove down to kansas city to see odesza a few years ago

real as hell...russian roulette came out the morning after a particular and very specific bad night of being abused by my ex (who wasn't an ex at the time) so that's always part of it and the first line of that section being "i wanna see my mom one more time" when my mom passed 5ish years ago and was the first person i wanted to talk to when i was actively being abused..........yeah. i can understand why that's the song that gets people

i hope she found some peace in the fact that she got to freely express those emotions in an environment where that's expected and encouraged while surrounded by people who know and love her. i'm sure you're a phenomenal friend to her as well

im gonna say this and it's not even related to that, but i have a feeling that i'm gonna be unpacking from glow for much longer than just today. like, today i'll wash my dirty clothes and clean my water bladder from my hydropack (and y'all should do that today too, if you have one) and put my earplugs in a safe spot where i can find them, but i'll be unpacking the mental and emotional side of the last few days of my life for AT LEAST a month
