no cas? no tanks? your 36w arent pushing
No lol, 36w sucks
yes at pushing alone
I had air and flame support đ
dont get me wrong, 20w are great if your using them as human wave pushing blocks
As in the enemy
so you had cas?
Yes
how much cas damage where you doing
A lot, Japanese buffs are nasty late game
Like legit Japan is way too strong
Claps America 9/10 games it seems
I havenât even seen America take any islands đ
Every game Japan has just pushed to Hawaii
Did 4 games so far
america with the same shitty tree from years ago with no newer dlc compatibility exept for the few bits shoe horned in that just had every general and marshal get their level reduced by 1 with no counter balance by paradox except a focus giving 2-3 generals their level back? wow, who coulda guessed
Idk why they didnât just give naval buffs to a few focuses
Or anything
Legit largest industrial base of the entire war and it feels like some dated backwater
almost like, paradox would rather have america be terrible so we are more likely to buy any upcoming allies rework yk
Nah but if you gonna have historical mode, should be historical
well
thats thing with "historical" in hoi4
its only historical in pathing
not who wins
same for historical mp games
In my game I held out as the Phillipines loyal to the USA. Was 1946, US lost Pearl Harbor despite me convoy raiding Japan and holding all my land.
Then in 1948, Allies declared war on Soviets before Japan was even dead.
Idk add a 100% attack buff to usa on historical or something
Make rhe game unplayable
Well the game is historically pathed for the USA to get curb stomped
fair, fair
So they got rid of ghost field marshal planning, but added an immobile cohesion setting to compensate now
Neat
Agian, its almost like its an issue a new focus tree would fix thatll be like...50 dollars or somethin
Iâm not even super patriotic or anything. But USA is legit trash in the current patch đ
theyve already added immobile?
Im just reading the patch notes
I thought it was only planned
That is to be released
Idk, all I've done so far is play 1939 China
And it's pain
I cant touch their medium tanks yet
1936 China is also pain
I haven't produced enough AA to field in divisions
I love when you retake the coastline just for Japan to land at 4 diff ports with 10 million soldiers within weeks of taking it back
Well, you can get immobile cohesion soon
France gonna be rough ngl
Which acts similiar
u can still do it u just have to set it to immobile
Planning bonus saved France
They murked anarchism too
Anarchist society economy law is basically as inefficient energy wise as Total Mobilization
Doesn't France already have planning speed debuff?
So extra debuff from the cohesion option on top of it
Or was it another planning stat
50% extra energy usage total mob, 45% for anarchism
are the seaplane tenders just for spotting now like the cruiser ship to patrol spam with spotting?
Idk havenât used yet
I havenât touched navy really
Destroyers really becoming the everything ship
i mean ig its cool if u want sub detection
group 1 of them with an anti submarine destroyer
and u will destroy any subs
small groups of them will be cool on convoy escort
I just want to see if an Escort CV, heavy cruiser with majority floatplanes, and destroyers with floatplanes and depth charges will be useful for ASW
1 destroyer with depth charges one with seaplanes
u dont need the escorts cv with these tbf
But muh larp
It would have been epic if you didn't need capital escorts for escort cv
Budget carrier task force
Escort cover letter
im not sure if u can just do one anti sub destroyer and 1 spotting destroyer tbf
There is error in polish translation
In game northeastern army is called "armia poĹudniowo-wschodnia" which means southeastern army
That reminds me, I need to check if you can put the FVwhateverthenumber is on the Centurian chassis as UK
any1 knows how to download 1.16.10?
i present; bug(its 1938)
wdym bro thats just normal
They donât call it Tanna for nothing
After 1,000 hours of playing this wonderful game, everyone was tired of doing the same thing when playing as the same country. It was great when they had created template saves for tanks, planes, ships in playgrounds. I am very grateful to them. It was a very good move.
Damn they fixed this that makes me really sad đ
No Tannu focus tree AND massive nerfs to it
Tiny tuva
how do i declare on china as japan
with the army mission
It keeps going back
British reskin when? Serious question lol
Or rework. Britain vanilla is kinda meh
Uniforms, focous etc etc
is this focus icon ai?
Allies dlc presumably next year
hope so!
Probably US, Canada and Mexico main dlc next year with Central American country pack
UK year after
wait so paradox decided that they hate people microing divisions and not using their abysmal system for unit relocation
so now GBP is useless for people who want to micro their troops as the planning speed bonuses will just go towards "unnerfing" the halved stat from setting troops to "immobile", awesome
well I guess GBP doesn't really exist anymore now that it's the new doctrines, how sneaky
a lot of it is AI i presume
Great British Pound
đ
The rest of it doesnt have the piss tint hopefully not
the rosbif have gotten too comfortable
If I understand correctly they cant use AI-generated content without specifying that they did on the store page
Fair enough
have they fixxed planning yet
Does China have a Christian path?
best feature
Nah, definetly not. Hoi4 would never allow AI art in their game
A central american pack would be the worse dlc ever
Ireland should atleast get a tree before any central American country
is it just me or is getting china a 3rd research slot take ages?
ik you can rush one at the end of the industry tree but I specifically mean the one where you have to wait for the countryside modifier to get down to 5% penalty. I got to 1941 and only then got a 3rd slot lol
I genuinely want to know if China or any warlords have Christian paths, I know ma cliques are obviously Muslim but I'm curious about other ones.
I don't think so, at least not with nationalist china
they have a tutleage historical/ahistorical path, democratic and then the blue shirts path
blue shirts is more middle kingdom / ancient china (at least that's what the foci hinted with the middle kingdom focus)
what was the problem on planning
couldnt micro with planning
update game icon?
Idk did it? I have a custom icon set so I wouldn't know
theres a mispelling error in the filipino focus tree
"with OUT" isntead of "with our"
is not a bug.
is a feature for tannnu tuva enjoyers
So I tried the immobile cohesion and the problem I'm seeing is that newly trained units set to the order just stay in place
can someone explain to me the "value" of this new faction mechanic? I feel like the OP is so overpowered in the game that whether your faction actually helps or not is low key immaterial
Finally historical Germany
too bad that japan is standing strong in 1949
what is the big A doing on hist?
finally. paradox fix that its a huge part of why japan actually surrendered in 1945
they choose to fight uk instead of japan first
on historical
had to help a trillion times to make this game historical
is there an event of japanese surrender?
also if ai usa would nuke them would be immersive
It's cool that the new nations glow on the start screen
Oh no
Units pushed back during a battle don't return to the frontline
I think they broke the AI this update.
Nukes right?âŚ.right?
that is also missing
Nonexistent
Only for larp
U can entirely not interact with it and nothing will change
But than xp is pretty pointless nowđ
There is new content
The Japanese war effort will collapse should some conditions be fulfilled. Read the dev diary
Xp is pretty pointless now
But also they hard nerfed ussr
Now you need to spend like 45 civs importing coal just to fuel like 300 factories
yes
but I actually like that lol
spending it on
special forces
wdym spending it on special forces
the
special forces doctrine?
well just mountaineers I guess
i think it is better now though that its harder to max out doctrines
I found it easier lol
no?
you still need like 500
so early on its good
400 xp is nothing burger
Arti tree donât count
Since u can barely get mastery for it anyway
Ur capped harder by mastery
Like they were saying in RB, just making 100 4w of whatever type you need and just training it may be the way to go now
guys so when I patrol and strike force and my strike force joins a battle from a spotting cruiser how can i see the spotting stats that were added to the battle
middle kingdom is just the literal translation of china
i'm so glad naval is even more incomprehensible now
i cant get dominance in the aegean even though there are 0 enemy ships there and the entire italian navy is in it
You have to set patrols for Naval dim
I know most people probably donât go battleship focus on Japan but whatâs the point of doing it for a âTsushima Classâ supper heavy BB and then get 4 of a âYamato classâ Super Heavy? Would make more sense to just give an improved battleship hull instead for the Tsushima class
i have them on patrol in the aegean
and removed all other sea zones so they will only patrol there
still 0 dominance gain
the other zones got dominance but not the aegean
How do I get the secret warlord monarchist path?
Not really a secret path but you have to go down the opposition or align with roc path
is there only the empress for secret path or are there more in this dlc
Socialist buddhist path for japan
MacArthur for Philippines
How to get that btw
how to get that?
watch hollowbeings latest video
I was just messing with the tree playing with the ganap apparently when you assassinate quezon you get an event for Eisenhower to prevent them from taking over eventually calling upon MacArthur to take things over
I think it's:
- Get MacArthur to stay and Eisenhower as police chief
- Kill the starting leader guy
I was about to say I think that might be how you do it cause I autocompleted that part to see if they stick with you even if your independent and fascist
If we do get a third expansion pass, I predict that the USA will recieve a rework.
excav
Can you do it as communist Sinkiang?
that doesnt quite look like chiang đ
haircut
SHBBs are just better for about everything
Can do it as any warlord
What templates yall running
Bruh does anyone know where to find proclaim an empire focus for the warlords
And I deadass canât find it somehow
is it like a secret focus or am I being stupid
like how do you do the achievement
yes
you need the focus that switches your focus tree to nationalist china
as long as you donât go communist you get it
Rate my kumal run
They did that a while ago
God bless you
thank you
Update I lost run ruined
Are there any changes if you didn't buy the expansion pass?
japan historical army and industrial trees are updated
And political
Emperor Hirohito is the head of state
Okada is the head of government at the time
Does that mean that the UK's portrait at the top should be King George instead of Baldwin?
Yes probably, but Paradox isn't known for consistency
uk update...
well by that logic the US leader should be a big dollar sign
No, the US one should be the Shadow Council of the Secret Government
But they won't let their figure be licensed
It's a whole legal nightmare
Comparative of Chinese Provinces borders in HOi4 with their modern real-world counterparts
You can see the areas they updated in NCNS versus what they left from WTT
You unfortunately can't get a good rendition of Inner Mongolia right now, because they didn't update Manchuria's states like, at all
ohh
Compare it with roc provinces instead
I heard Hirohito was kinda "influenced" by some other higher ups to do stuff like pearl harbor and invade the rest of southeast asia, giving hirohito more of a innocent personality
not sure how true that is though
Well yes, that does make more sense to what we have
But a number of states draw from their modern counterparts to facilitate post-war map painting, which is what I was looking at
But whichever map you look at, Hupei/Hubei is all sorts of off-kilter
is the new update included in the subscribtion pass?
Which of the warlords would be the most likely to proclaim a new dynasty?
Can Feng Yuxiang lead China?
Hello, maybe not the most important bug, but i was wondering about the music player in the new update. The tracks in the OST are totally randomly ordered now, which makes it impossible to listen to the new tracks in a row. In past expansions the new tracks would be added at the bottom of the list, where I was able to find them easily. Can you please order the tracks of the sountrack by release date again?
no
i doubt any warlords wouldve actually proclaimed themselves emperor after the first time that happened but if i had to choose it would probably be Han fuju
are the new faction mechanics in the basegame?
Why him?
How do I win the 6th encirclement campaign as the northeastern army?
i mean at gane start the true warlord era was already ending
like yuan shikai he was very opportunistic so if he had the chance he mightve proclaimed himself emperor
it was very dominantly kmt controlled
the sino-japanese war was just what collapsed the kmt as they were centralizing and gaining power, allowing the prc to cease this gap of weakness and take over rapidly
thats what i know about it
thats unrelated to the question
yeah but
in the previous pre kmt warlord era
many warlords did actually fight for true ownership of china
Can someone explain to me why it is so unfathomably technically hard to code the same width in a tech tree? Is there a major brain drain at Paradox?
and there wouldve been candidates who would want to be emperor
but shandong is misrepresented it was more of a glorified province rather than a nominal clique
by game start, most leaders are already not too ambitious
sheng shicai was probably the most ambitious
yeah but he mostly collaborated too
IMO mao / the prc were the most ambitious and succeeded through a deathly miracle
out of the warlords most of that was already kind of gone?
like there had been years of warfare, poverty
and people at some point just want to rebuild first and foremost
and in this kind of time youll see a shift, really anywhere, where as power is consolidated that there will be less ambitious rulers alongside the main power
thats just my pov/opinion tho
and in this case that would be that no warlords were seeking to be emperor anymore
How do I defeat communist china as the northeastern army during the encirclement campaign?
even chiang kai shek did not go for such a role
either bait them in or have some offensive power
you cant rush the wargoal because your units are too weak
i doubt any would have anyways after the national protection war
WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO PATCH COAL IN ITALY????
THE NEW UPDATE HAS LIKE 12 BUGS ON START
WTH
#StopSellingSlop
What focuses should I take before doing the encirclement campaign?
Can I do the encirclement campaign when communist china has a border war?
mil spawn in
get artillery or tank tech
tank would require recon tech too
so you can put it as a support company for break
anyway thats more a #ask-for-help-here question
go there
Is the ningxia ma border war scripted for ai? If so, can I start the campaign during that?
@brittle venture
Is dlc good guys
dont ask in this chat, its off topic to the latest game updates
irrelevent to the channel
Can someone show me the portrait of New China Democratic leaders please?
its zhang lan, caarsun chang, soong ching ling and zeng qi
unfortunately no sun fo
Is there any portrait?
speedrun japan
of course
Can I see the portraits please
ig soong since she was the widow of sun yat sen
WAIT SIAM IS GETTING A DLC?
I just came here to say that the need of coal when you have a civilian nuclear reactor built in every state is absurd. Nuclear reactors should reduce the amount of coal needed in a state, lets say 25% reduction for heavy water reactors, 50% for regular reactors and 75% for civilian reactors
Yeah to be honest I think the fact that civilian nuclear reactors DO NOT provide energy/energy reduction is criminal
Its already an unbelievably bad special project
The standard nuclear reactors not providing is fine because those are specifically made for the production of the weapons, but the civilian reactor made to provide energy NOT providing energy is silly
Why Uranium should be a thing imho
thats why I posted the description, it literally says "provides electricity for the civilian economy"
Considering to even get the civilian nuclear reactor you have to get nuclear research, do a special project that can easily last up to 2 years. Research construction 3 and THEN you can finally do another special project which depending on RNG can take up to 2 years
And then finally sink 35000 ic into the construction of it WHEN IT CANT BE BUILT IN ANY STATE THAT HAS A NORMAL REACTOR
and in the end it does not give electricity, so you need to burn coal đ
Yeah its literally PURPOSE BUILT to fuel your industry, it should provide immense buffs and energy reductions because you are purposefully skipping out on the nuclear weapons project since you cant build this in a state that has a normal reactor
So your purposefully playing the long game and delaying your ability to send nuclear weaponry, additionally it also produces the nuclear weapons slower like the heavy water reactor which is infinitely cheaper
Tbh I am just gonna change it in my mod to be way better for that reason, if dams which you cant construct can provide a 65% reduction then why cant the literaly holy chalice of energy production do it lol
did you release it to play?
spread the word for paradox to fix population
manchu has way too few and kyrgyzia and tajikistan
this is the best historical paradox could do? please make it a bit more accurate
Why did the khotan ma win?
have they fixed world tension yet? cuz i ahd all of china, the siberia of ussr and most minor polynesian countries as japan and ended somehow with 0% world tension
That IC cost is diabolical
It's coming along....
stalingrad max pro

is this decision bugged to anyone else? (playing northeastern army warlord)
I gave a research facility and they shoved their scientists and got most faction influence
Yeah I thought they should've actually solved the problem rather than hotfixing only Tannu Tuva to stop clicking the button
Wait what the DLC feature allows this to happen?
Yeah honestly the Faction system seems really untested
They intended it to stop members from different continents from joining factions and usurping them randomly causing frustration
Except now its infinitely easier for a nation to usurp a faction for the most random reasons
And then they add a focus for Japan thats like "Join the axis" which completely contradicts the purpose of this new system
What happens if they join the Axis? Do they deny peace conference if Germany capitulates?
After doing a short term goal about research together, you can add special facilities to the faction
at least yugoslavia doesnt join the chinese united front every game now
and nationalist spain sometimes joined the GEACPS
I know about that feature
I just didn't expect they balanced the faction influence so poorly that it's no less broken in DLC as in the basegame
cries in basegame
Oh yeah if you give the facility as britain, you get no points
If you give a scientist as Oman you'll get points
New portraits for people like Doolittle and Thomas Dewey are in the files for the United States now.
I laughed so hard after seeing new engine on Poland
Did they fix it already or still no?
Can your planes be powered by anti-imperialism
Powered by pure hatred and anger at imperialism
Thermal energy from the pure anger of the polish pilot
And do the volunteers go back from Spain? As Germany? Or do they still take permanent vacation in Alicante
They did say they fixed the bug of a country just stealing your divs
So likely they do come back now?
im suprised i havent seen any dogs on phone calls yet
i usually see some in place of portraits when dlcs release
i think the iraqi leader portrait was replaced with that for a while without the dlc
They do provide local energy consumption reduction
what did civilian reactors do before the update
i thought they were just better nuclear reactors
and never bothered building them
yeah
They produce nuclear weapons slower than normal graphite but they provide bonuses similar to a dam
Local construction speed, local resources and building slots
They now do also provide a bonus of -25% energy consumption which I think is frankly silly given the dams do -65%
lets see if i can politely ask the soviets to release the entirety of siberia
ill send my legendary general Ma Ma to moscow
coughing baby vs hydrogen raptor
Surely it should be a toyota, would be on brand
Nuclear raptor is an inside joke of me and my friend
We played a game called stormworks
Loaded a raptor with tons of explosives (arming mechanism was the left blinker). And we tried to load it into a ship and transport it onto a different island without it exploding
After 4 hours of trying to do it we Photoshopped this picture
No matter what i do i suck at the game đ
Am I supposed to get a focus tree that doesn't look like current China ones after doung the focus where I change focus tree to nationalist china as a warlords?
its the old one with an extra political path for some reason
Is that supposed to happen?
yes
Seems weird to get an outdated focus tree that has a lot of day 70 focuses
How many hours do you have?
guys do you recommend buying the new dlc? Is it worth it?
over 500
It's ok. Is it worth it? Depends how much money you have, I would say 30⏠is way way way too much
Its a decentish DLC quite imbalanced, but ÂŁ25 is an absolute rip off given Gotterdammarung adds way more for ÂŁ21
Coal is so buns man
Completely neuters minors while not affecting majors that much at all
Another annoying mechanic
do i really need to wait until elections to follow communist path??
Okada will die and you can pick a socialist PM
I do wonder how much for the equivalent of one in-game unit of coal
when is he going to die? he is still alive
Idk
I see this in TommyKay live
Kinda odd how the irregulars infantry doctrine path doesnt actually give you irregulars
is kinda irregular for a irregular doctrine indeed
is there a bloody cheat or console command for coal? this thing is driving me nuts đ
I did the focus to demand subjugation or war on every Chinese United Front member... hoping that it would cause Nationalist China to leave and go to war...
guess that's my entire day wasted then
now unless I spend a million years integrating them I can't even declare the People's Republic
does faction contribution affect peace conference points?
as communist china
and i was annoyed on how my captured land switched owner to neighbouring warlord
No I went through the focus tree for sikang
Just get more silly
Paradox, fix this⌠I learned in fourth grade that uneven spacing was unacceptable
And now you are charging 30 euro for uneven spacing
Is there no playtesting anymore
Why didn't Mengjiang get a focus tree?
That Japanese focus tree about Mengjiang should've been shared
This yes - such a mistake by paradox
If you go down the unwilling diarchy path as commie china, and get someone in your faction from the demand the loyalty of the warlords, you are able to do the "seek a peaceful reunification" focus with nationalist china not being in your faction and you get to either annex them or wipe them out with the illegal reigeme spirit
Fix multipalayer paradox
could probably rush the focuses and get them annexed in 38?
They have even spacing between rangers and the other two. The problem was adding the marines clearly
Man Paradox really went the boring OP puppet and core everyone path for democratic Japan
HELP WHAT DO I NEED TO DO
I wouldâve maybe liked to see two paths for democratic Japan, one more focused on building up the economies of your allies, and in turn reaping economic benefits, and then the other path being a federation path that is more difficult and gives you less economic benefits, but leads to the direct annexation of land
it's bugged
i always pick the opposite side so i can join the allies
did japan do pearl harbor in your game
i am assuming you beat japan right
no japan lost to me and been a good boy its 1944
i see
yeah i clapped them out too, and then they just never did pearl harbor
so the us never joined the war
and i had to help the soviets out
im going to invade the soviets and make the allies fight the axis forever
boo
taking advantage of that
i united normal china and rp'd as a good democracy
im imperialist china first this game
crazy how the kmt revolted against the imperials just 30 years before the game
whats the difference they do the same
i love that i can invade mongolia and tuva and soviets dont join bc they busy in germany
i need doctorines badly
also first time in my life i demobilized willingly
is this a fair trade? i take my land in exchange for peace and all my stockpiles + im gonna join on their side against germany
is this good roleplay?
rate my led-lease
bro what is this template
I love the new update, now I can have 60 ships in an area with no enemy and still have to wait 100 days or so until it actually counts as dominance
this is also very cool
what free update did they add to the game (i cant afford an 80 dollar dlc)
Please look up on the Reddit or in the patchnotes
It had been asked a thousand times already
Is that in hkd or aud
aud
Because i bought it for like 69 aud
Historical Japan, coal, naval
not navy đđ
oh wait its $43 for the dlc alone
maybe i was thinking of a pack or smth
yeah the expansion pack 2 is $69
Don't forget about the new UI for trade
fps map broken :(
Yeah thats been bothering me too
Im too used to it
Normal map looks wrong
yeah i was like "um why is this so laggy? and why's the map so translucent?"
i found a fps map mod that works tho
Does it have colourful buttons
no but i dont like that anyways
Good whats it called
Please watch my gameplay of how i formed the People's Front as the Chinese Soviet Republic and conquered western China. Thank you!
sorry but dont self promote here
do it on the reddit instead
Anyone feel the AI navy never comes out to engage in this update ?
ive played Japan 3 times all the way to 1945 capitulating allies but and each time i never found the american fleet
maybe i just suck at navy idk
i only found the british fleet when i put mine in the channel and destroyed it
No I believe itâs ai issues cause I played in observer mode 3 times and American ai didnât engage and even lost Pearl Harbor
yeah america never defends pearl harbor for some reason either
Needs hot fixed honestly itâs pretty miserable for single player
now that i think of it there is def some ai issue because i remember when i returned to menu some times in the middle of the game the usa would have 100+ fleets in the leaderboard
I wiped the Japanese fleet as the US
So they do come out somewhat
Yeah I was planning a playthrough as ULASR and building navy from scratch so thatâs promising Japan navy is behaving maybe itâs just us ai thatâs broke. I did check out Italians and not much action there either
I understand other countries because oil, but the US shouldn't have any problems with oil
Methinks there are too few coals
Either from lack of excavation decisions, or that the scaling used for an "equivalent unit" is too high.
Like, if there are 10 times as many, this problem can be severely rectified
Canât remember which YouTuber reviewing it I saw but they brought up the coal shortage too and paradox apparently promised the guy theyâd look into it
Me just ignoring war eco and chilling on partial mob
(More coal or the ability to have oil be used to reduce coal usage would be really nice)
The shortage is just too much
Like, ended up 6000 coals on deficit is crazy
What does "35% reduction in Land Doctrine" mean with the new update? Does it affect Mastery at all, or only the initial selection of subdoctrines using army xp?
I think it is the initial selection of subdoctrines
coal is a big fat mistake
theres not enough coal
Does anyone know of a TNO map that is compatible with the new patch
Yesterday I played communist china and my friend china and expelling Japanese was so hard
Maybe china needs a buff or it's because we played badly?
Hello, when will the sale end?
both
as communist china it shouldnt be too hard
kmt china is trash
Basically he was suffering deficit if weapons everytime
So it was upside down
Like a rollercoaster
I think China is fine as it is, it's supposed to be challenging
i agree to some degree but the content compared to the others is sort of lackluster
fair
coal as a system
kinda nullifies entirely the building of civ
because u will always run out of coal
so why will u build civ to run out of coal faster
i found commie china harder tbh
kmt china scales hard
its just early game actually requires two brain cells now with last stand micro
Some counties in particular really lack it, itâs crazy
coal is peak adds so much strategic reason to defend and invade the states that have it like now donetsk is actually very important like historically
coal is arguably the single most dimensional feature in the game
u go up eco law to get more civ
build mils
get coal capped
go down to civ eco
its actual ooga booga gameplay
i love that i have to demobilize but yes demobilizing mid war feels odd
but im fine with it
i had infinite economy as china in 1944
both chinas need late game focuses that give them alot of tech they have been missing
did they fix the mp bug
Whatâs sad to me is that coal basically nerfed Anarchism and New Economic Policy
I think the 45% energy usage from anarchism is a bit brutal
Should be like 40 or 35. Maybe lower
Wondering why infiltration tactics operations doctrine gives bonuses to all recon except armoured car
But also gives you infantry bonuses to armoured recon
anyone have an idea how to load nuclear warheads into submarines?
need it for the achievement
got everything, just can't figure out how to launch it
I would assume it's like rockets where you move it to the "airbase" on the sub?
I've never used rockets before either so I don't know how that works
AFAIK they're just like aircraft
You might have to create an airwing with them, deploy them like that, then move the rocket
so I need to build a rocket silo to load it to the submarine?
I am never leaving Philippines out alive
Hm
Maybe but I also might be completely wrong
How are you at 1956 with no tension lol
peace treaties
the new reorganized national government of china doesnt make any sense. either japan should give the rest of the china to manchuko (like in kaiserreich) or give the manchuria to the reorganized national government of china
Itâs basically just flipping China
dockyards consume coal too?? they are the mils for navy, must consume it too I guess
Special project for missile launchers in submarines
You dont need to make land based ones
yeah figured
its literally history?
I am never getting out of Philippines
I assumed you had the submarines already, you said you had everything
Im pretty sure both existed together irl
they did yeah
Reorganised ROC was a merger of 3 separate puppet states established by China throughout the war afaik
Established by China?
Wasnt puyi aiming to become the only leader of china. so i think after the full invasion of china, japan would create a reorganized puppet government(containing all of the china) with puyi being the leader
Puyi had now power
Absolutely nothing was going to happen that saw him not be more than a puppet leader
Wang Jingwei was given power over the reorganized government. Puyi was also a Manchu
what is the purpose of having 2 different puppets which both of them claiming each other
Nothing, because they answer to Japan
They dont claim each other because Japan says so
oh it makes more sense now
Oooooof
it's been 10 hours
at the rate of 10fps, that research is gonna take at least 3 hours
Ive found zooming out increases FPS by a tiny bit
Possibly placebo
Is the man the guns dlc integrated
Yes
Is it just me or does the nanjing monument has a bugged name and description
ai training navy in mp make my game go boom boom
Yeah it makes no rlly laggy
Any naval missions do it
they get better buffs, if you play together you shouldnt struggle
well duh
you can no longer snack Shanxi and Xibei San Ma for free
is hoi5 going to be about the cold war
genuienly i want a cold war sim by paradox to drop so i can properly work on my mod there
IT'S DONE I AM FREE
hoi4 isnt a good cold war simulator
I hope
But hoi is combat focused
Ww1 would be alright too
And Cold War was proxy wars, tech, and space mostly
yeah
Great War redux is great
eh mods do that already
does anybody know how to naval invade UK as Germany in the new update?
yeah hoi4 isnt a necessarily a good cold war sim
They never had plans to make manchukuo into a chinese puppet
In kaiserreich it works because fengtian has more claim to legitimacy but japan's "guy in china" was the east hebei autonomy which evolved and rebranded multiple times to gain legitimacy until wang jiwei defected and allowed a consolidation into the rgc, but the plans for manchukuo were always to settle the land with japanese or use it as a tool to claim siberia /outer manchuria
The one thing common between all the rival governments was that they hated the qing. Theres no way manchukuo would ever be a viable option for japan as a rival chinese government
wtf they did to doctrines? đ
It looks really complex and insane but its actually really simple
Grand doctrine is the base 4 standard doctrines and your tracks allow you to personalise a section of your army with buffs you want
idk but for me old doctrines especially 2nd one is goated
You still get unqiue buffs from the tracks when you max one
So superior firepower grand doctrine will still give you unique buffs and officer corp options
How do I expand my navy into the red zones? do I have to construct a naval HQ or Supply Base near the regions?
Honestly its your choice, I personally like the new Doctrine system as it lets me have a greater say in how my army shapes
Naval Supply hubs will extend your range, you need to find which port is your home port (Currently listed as Yokohama under the admiral). Your navy draws range from THAT SPECIFIC base
If a naval supply hub is within range then the fleet can also draw range from that extending the total range
Basically like a fuel station
im currently building up a naval base in vietnam to lvl 8 so I can build the resuply station there, Im hoping that increases my range down south
Alternatively you can try to sieze malaya/singapore and build there
- If you take them you have a naval base you can assign as the home base in the middle of that strategic zone
I realised building a HQ in taiwan gave me enough range for indonesia
now to try and reach australia...
Thatll be a tough one
You can reassign the home base remember
So if you take a base in Indonesia
You can assign that naval base as the "home base" if it gets you to aussie land
Java is already a lvl 10 port
yeah setting my home base in Java gave me all the range I need for australia
Yeah remember that the little gear symbol next to the home base tells the game to auto change the home base to whatever is the most suitable for the sea zones
I see
cant believe the navy is fun, almost makes me want to put effort in making ships
I love navy LARP
A couple of good QOL mods are stuff like "10 dockyards for capital ships" that means you can build carriers and such a bit easier
my main problem is that it takes forever to make ships
usually I just steal navies and inshallah but playing hist. japan? the base fleet is doing fine
granted its 1943 and im NOT at war with the US
its joever australia bros
Does AI navy actually fight? Was seeing that it does not as of a day or two ago, but idk if that was glitch or was patched?
So previously the AI would often just strike force COUGH USA COUGH
Now they HAVE to patrol a sea zone to contest you which means they will actively fight more
And yeah Axtive the British AI kinda just
Abandons its asian colonies the Navy almost never goes there lol
yeah I was wondering where tf the indian army went
turns out they were all fighting in eastern persia
Okay, so yay or nay, seem not to know
They will fight you
If a patrol fleet finds you its highly likely a strike force will attempt to engage you
Assuming its not repairing
Even before the updat the Japanese navy was the biggest dopamine cause they WOULD fight you 100%
Okay thanks. Iâve gotta test it. I wonder if the Germans are better with their subs. Have always felt their use of unrestricted warfare was totally non existent
Im kinda glad because unfortunately paradox doesnt really know how to balance subs so they can be BRUTALLY overpowered, gotterdammarung allowing people to get anechoic tiles like 4 years before they were made resulted in them being insane
Yeah but would love to actually play the battle of the Atlantic from Ally side
Added an 'immobile' cohesion setting, which turns off all automatic relocation for units attached to a battleplan. Planning speed is halved while using this setting
they add a thing to replace empty field marshal front lines (*technically *an exploit)
nerf it instantly with -50%
nobody will use it
be paradox
everyone will use it
mp players
u can mod the value back in im pretty sure
i mean if we take mods, do any paradox changes matter
its true, yes
but i meant it about vanilla/sp
I was wondering why the decisions weren't showing up and I found this
whats the best japan strat
make an offering at a shinto shrine and pray
Japan is powerful in every path. Communist one makes you core most of asia, non aligned path makes you gain a lot cores too and the fascist path is the classic
did artillery get buffed with the new army doctrines?
technically
doesnt add any breakthrough
i saw the one where it does -0.8 width
they nerfed base stats but the cost is lower
its not great still
its better tho
wait they did?
actually i lied
stat base isnt changed i think?
it is cheaper
and most buffs come from doctrine not tech
but like
no hp, no armor
little breakthrough
its decent early game but tanks also got buffed
TDs and SPGs are 20% cheaper
Prolly my best HOI4 game ever
take the focus to establish the mongol military government
Any particular reason why the Philippines only have generic models for infantry equipment instead of more accurate US equipment or WWI surplus?
Why does that look like Tno
Nah that doesnt like the tno map
how is your fleet composition right now guys?? patrols fleet needs to be CL/DD or something more heavier like CAs??
As the US, I had my patrol groups as an escort carrier, a spotting heavy cruiser to be a capital screening the carrier, and a bunch of destroyers
Like 9
Repeat 9 more times
Very overkill
understands navyđĽ đ
Non aligned japan industrial boosts should be stronger
Pfp checks out
i think the millenium dawn dev likes romania
how can I reach 95% war support with japan to launch pearl harbor?? I can't get over 60%
dont be at war?
also decisions
is it worth building any civs as japan or full mils? also worth doing inteligence updates?
generally build up civs at the beginning and just go full mil building
Theres a focus in historical which gives weekly war support from bombings or smthn
PDX Bug spotted
You would think that after 4 years of almost everyone in MP using 4 secondary cannon heavy TDs, that the devs would notice and do anything to make historical tanks more viable....
short answer: the country just prefers to use American models
also as you can tell by playing the game. we do not have a lot of steel & majority of it is black sand which is not conducive in a large scale due to high energy cost. It is at worst a debt trap and at best a artisanal piece set
couple that with low quality coal despite it's average deposits & near proximity to countries who do have better quality - you end up with an economy whose extremely reliant on imports - just like you see in game.
i dont think you get the question
i don't think I got the question

probably 'cause there's the other paths
yeah they were asking why philippines infantry equipment uses names like "equipment 1" instead of something like springfield rifle
i don't know how code works but it would end up with
Fascists - Japanese Models
Democratic - American Models
Unaligned - Spanish Models
Communist - ????
so ig they just don't want to bother
its basically just the name of the equipment
but philippines just feels the most rushed
the biggest tree is the industry tree of all things
the paths are very railroaded
and they all end in the same result
not to mention only 2 - 3 filipino generals
and a lot of the things in the Industry Tree I feel like don't really help in accomplishing whatever your goal is when you choose the path that you do
you complete the industry tree and you still only have 1 mil unless you noticed it after reading every description.
choosing the US' side makes you focus on being a Bunker Hell while playing for Japan makes you roleplay as Italy w/ Indonesia being your North Africa
it feels like playing mexico
Yes
I feel like playing Philippines in MP would just have you end up being the Marines guy
wouldve much preferred the budget they put into philippines be used to enhance china
i agree
it's ok
There are still kinda garbage
But they are more playable than before
đ¤
playing GRAND STRATEGY game
complaining about game being to complicated
bro wtf is this steam reviews
He got the faction rework thing right
Theres a difference between complicated because the gsme is complex and complicated because its messy
oh alr what's messy about factions
The UI and their use is not very intuitive
exit to main menu
and join back, itll be fixed
Hello me and my friend cant play together because our version is not same
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Uh, one of the games are modded
Mods usually changed the checksum, even if both games has the same vanilla versions
Thank you so much
I think he's got a skill issue
paradox try not to release abysmal dogshit challenge: impossible
english reviews are actually mostly negative lol
Its mainly the price thats getting them the flak
ÂŁ25 for this is absolutely egregious
paying money for a country i already paid for back in 2019 is pretty bad too
and there is a LOT of reviews that shit on the new features
Coal is a horrible feature
Coal is something that was un-needed
The faction system was a good idea but poorly implemented
If they want people to demobilize make civ economy not abysmal
the dlc is literally coal XD
Why does Civ economy REDUCE civ construction speed
Nah its garbage coal has usage irl
If civ economy would give stability and stuff at the cost of less mil construction and fuel it would be so much better
Italy also has like 5 coal which for a major is just death
true from what ive seen it looks like abysmall dogshit
At least I have 100 other games
Like my modded Byzantine medieval 2 campaign
whichever paradox dev is thinking up these ideas needs to get their fingers out their ass lol
We dont want black ICE
Head*
I tried that mod and omg it was taxing to play
And whoever decided to make navy even more complex like cmon
Now people have to worry about home bases, naval supply hubs, naval hqs
I luckily understand navy so its fine for me but for those who find it confusing rip
like is the team that actually made hoi4 in the first place even still developing the game any more?
these new devs are honestly not living up to how the game used to be
Anyways I reconquered Rome and all of southern Italy bar Pugila in my Byzantine campaign
Bari is holding out
I seriously doubt it the game is getting more and more unpolished, bugs everywhere, poor implementation
And I gotta take Sicilian controlled Sardinia
I mean when modding I found something hilarious in the Australian tree
The "deal with Japan" focus where they hand over indonesia to japan for an alliance doesnt even check if they own it
You could just own Indonesia and suddenly boom its Japan
Australia just hands over territory it doesn't own
I am glad I didnt buy the expansion pass
lol me too
They really need to stop handing out a billion claims and cores it was a gripe I had with Germany
It think Iâm done with hoi4 and fall back to eu4
im never paying full price for this bullshit
and ngl whoever already did is kinda idiotic after the track record of grave of empires and stuff
Like 1 focus and Germany got what like 12 war goals?!?! And claimed like all of Europe + Asia
Thoughts on my modded Byzantine campaign
For medival 2
Sadly know nothing of that so cant comment
It makes me really nervous for the UK, France and US rework
The Allies are a JOKE now
Germany alone can just solo everyone
I reconquered Anatolia
Back to pre 1071 borders
Unfortunately my unit roster is going to fall of hard late game
I only get 2 gun powder units (Byzantine hand gunners) and a tiny cannon
it is a huge middle finger to the players that bought la resistance and man the guns, yet again making players pay AGAIN for countries they already paid for is such scummy practice, honestly all paradox staff can get a middle finger back from me if they think this is ok
i dont get how people arent in uproar about this
Probably Creative assembly showing the decline in quality of the Byzantine armed forces through gameplay
The moors also fall off too late game
I didn't either but I do feel NCNS was better than GOE
I wish the naval mechanics were part of the DLC and the faction mechanics part of the game - then I probably would not have bought it. But I suppose that is part of the calculations
GOE tbf lowered the bar so hard it was a tripping hazard in hell
So not hard to clear that
True... I'd say this is better than GOE and TOA and perhaps AAT too though.
Its good enough I am not under FULL regret buying it but
I hate how every patch they keep indirectly nerfing the allies
Now the US is in its own faction meaning the Allies are even easier to smack down
Also - I do think we need a rework of the focus trees for all nations now. I keep getting doctrine bonuses which I'm not sure are useful beyond 1940 (there's only five times I ever use army XP in the doctrines tab now)
Oh god, I thought they would just join the Allies when Japan attacked - they don't? The American Commonwealth stays?
Oh Germany can just kill them, I have yet to see the US join the Allies
Rn the game is so axis favoured Germany 9/10 times just soloes the whole of Europe
As someone else said, its just what happens when the last three expansions have been focused on the Axis powers (Italy, Germany and now Japan). I'm hopeful a rework of an Allied power will balance the scales again đ
I also hope paratroopers FINALLY get nerfed
Paradox has a fundemental misunderstanding of the role of Paratroopers
The are LIGHT infantry designed to hold for limited time until relieved
You cannot just drop them into Dover
I have like 1500+ hours in the game and I have used paratroopers exactly ONCE.
They are OP and completely invalidate the naval system
Why build an expensive navy when you can build planes and paradrop? Planes also help you in the ground war
Paras cannot drop with heavy equipment, they can get limited MGs and light fire support like mortars and special made artillery
And urban drops for paratroopers were DISASTROUS
The Fallschirmjagers that dropped Rotterdam got absolutely MAULED
Is it the case that no matter the amount of manpower in a division, you can paradrop them, ie, is the limit only on the number of divisions paradropping, not on the size of the division itself?
Provided the game registers that divison as paradrop capable
Doesnt matter how big it can be dropped
Paratroopers in the special forces tree getting light tanks was horrifically busted

@pseudo wing sorry for the long but when will the Challenges return
Our NCNS campaign was jam packed ful of a lot of stuff so I had to postpone them, I can't give the ETA on it just yet but I am trying to get them back up and going
GDR super buffed the allies lol
This DLC just seems to have made the allies less aggressive. Not necessarily weaker
Really? Allies in my game crumple like wet tissue paper lol
In my games theyâve been eating Germany like every game
Though the pacific was seems mostly ignored by them and the US in particular
How unusual, for me Germany does like a 1v5 and absolutely stomps while the UK just sits on the home islands lol
Britain straight up ignores the pacific war like 100%
USA basically does too
Even as a Japan only at war with them they just seem to not care
Nah the US has at least fought me but its like to the British AI Asia just isnt a thing lol
Tbh UK should patrol around Raj and Australia. US around pacific islands
I like all the ground combat so far. And the idea of theaters of war. Just hope the AI and the allies in particular get looked at
Mostly with naval for me
I genuinely just havenât seen Germany perform well on historical
How weird for me its the completely opposite, allies eat rocks and germany just goes uber mode rolling everyone
Except communist Germany
They just fold
I love the new doctrines tbh I really like having a personal touch over how my army evolves
Means you can do so many builds, navy I think needs a range enhancement done rn the home base system is good but a little too restrictive for my liking
Does Siam received a portrait of Marshal Plaek Phibunsongkhram for free, or it is NCNS-locked?
Thx
Iâm surprised Korea didnât get portraits tbh
Are people having issue with naval supply now or am I supposed to have much smaller fleets operating out of more ports
even with level 8 ports my fleet doesnt have enough supply
Always been that way
with the previous system did your fleet still operate out of just one port? I thought what happened is that the different task force drew from whataver the closest port was, meanin gthat all the tasks forces in one fleet didnt neccesarily use the same port
I guess this means I just need to make more fleets, although I dont really know what low supply even does for a fleet
I wish the USA had more admirals
I only ever use one fleet for surface navy
but then you have no supply?
best combat width?
Depends
hold on they can now create normal puppets(the ones with cores) while at war????
Why does the new update remind me of black ice?
on what
Terrain types? defense build? Offensive build?
Because coal
And the trade menu
But thatâs all
yeah thats about it
i havnt even gotten the new dlc yet
all i know is that my navy game is going to be screwed over until i can get used to the new systems
Meh itâs not hard
did they change the russian research icons?
Basic heavy ship is the Nelson class battleship
Monarchist/Democratic Germany: yes
Historical Germany: No
offensive
DLC or no dlc
dlc
Tanks at 36 width then. Can check the pinned section of #ask-for-help-here to see templates and designs
damm i though the new dlc made a bug cuz this first time seeing this and mostly play iron mode only
no skeleton content for siam
A shame because i hoped atleast phibun would be the fascist leader of siam
OK, monarchist Philippines is pretty cool. Seems like you can annex + core most of Latin America and South America o.O
I honestly find most of the cliques more interesting than the Philippines but maybe that monarchist path might be worth the try
they ruined what i enjoyed the most: having dogshit range while in home port and the ability to move between pots and keeping my range
the enshitification of hoi is here
That started earlier this year with GOE
Just automate your home base and itâs like normal
Navy really hasnât changed too drastically
huh
You can have its home base automatically get set
So if you assign sea zones, they use the nearest home base
Itâs near the top of the screen when selecting a fleet, like a cog wheel
o
Dude watches too much Sejo đ
Sejo on his way to call anything slop yet still rely on it for money
no i was pissed because i had no range and constantly having to move the fleet and split it up to cover all of the pacific
Annoying to micro but yeah try the auto-port feature
naval range and carriers have
Tbh in practice havenât noticed much with carriers. Ik they technically occupy air zones and stuff differently but in combat seems similar
also
(Apart from naval invasions ofc)
fuel usage for navy is wayyy higher
now you need to patrol and strike force costs fuel too
Havenât played a country impacted by it much yet ig
Why would it if theyâre not out to sea?
Didnât know anchoring burns much fuel đ
Carriers themselves havenât changed, the type of plane you put on them has
Apart from escort carriers and sub carriers
ngl the new faction system should be base game
it just creates unnecessary bloat for devs to maintain the old faction system next to the new one, and on top of that it would just be... a nice thing to do? like the Special Projects mechanic in GOT being base game but the actual projects being dlc-locked
Agreed. Have allies, axis and cominterm base too. But every other faction dlc
I personally think all factions can be dlc if we get the mechanic in the base game, this is more of a "please follow the standard GOT established" thing
it makes life easier for both devs and modders and costs virtually nothing to Paradox
If anything would probably drive more sales
since the actual factions are dlc-locked, they're not really going to lose out on sales anyway
