The Silk Road and Tibet fallout had them scramble to change and remove content close to release. It has some of the lowest reviews to date. And the majority of people are reporting an above average amount of game breaking bugs, moreso than usual

Basically confirms what i hoped wouldnt happen ,since bugs are such a huge issue they will probably fix most of them(not all its pdx a small indie company after all). Chance? Yes, but I wouldn't count on it. Our current focus is on polishing and fixing all the bugs that are being reported, and that is going to be our focus for some time. New features isn't exactly the priority. If content was cut, it's likely because it did not meet our own expectations.

i have been an old fan of hoi4. i played this game since 2016 and i remember how great it was for me because i was always interested in this genre of games, and hoi4 was the epitome of this genre. there were some bugs here and there but they would get fixed the next day of a dlc release. meanwhile in 2025 the game revolves around 70 days focus trees that are not historically accurate at all. the alt history paths are not consistent, and many important countries lack good focus trees. until last week i was patient that "eventually all countries will have good focus tree and that i should give the devs time because its difficult" but it shows from this dlc that they lack interest in the game and the fans that have supported the game for many years. and i as i said 2 weeks ago that i wouldnt mind if it took 1 or 2 more months to ACTUALLY FINISH this dlc, but i guess they cared more about the hype and money than actually making the game good

and before i will get bombarded by fanboys i have to say i dont care at all neither if im banned from this server for saying the truth

Honestly, modding is the easiest thing to do, especially if you follow the IW tutorials, and it's so unbelievably customizable to your personal tastes, interests, or perceptions, the only major downside is the time investment for larger scale stuff, but like sometimes I find it very calming as well. (Also GFX if your into suepr fancy stuff)

So just noticed, when you do the Mughal path. The British Raj doesn’t retain any of the debuffs including Agrarian society. I get they switch to a generic tree but shouldn’t they still have that?

Also thought that the Raj itself was supposed to no longer be a UK puppet as the focus says the Raj leaves the allies. Yet the way it works currently, it calls the entire Allies into the war

This is a bug and will be fixed in the upcoming patch. As for the fact that it says the raj leaves the allies, its an unfortunate way of how tooltips display civil wars, though we may make it a bit more clear. There is a scripted peace event after a year so you don't need to capitulate the allies to win. It is a bit too difficult, but once the debuff thing is fixed it should be more achievable whilst still not being "easy".

Was having my first good game as Iraq, did the greater Iraq route on historical. My faction was actually completely holding off the Allies and Comintern. Even secured the Levant + Russian oil fields. Germany was about to annex the Soviet Union, then out of no where Iran randomly left my faction and became a Soviet puppet, despite not losing any victory points or having any enemies in their land. This basically ruined my entire game instantly.

So the newest bug is Iran being puppeted by the Soviet Union on Historical, despite no land lost and being in an opposing faction.

the concept of trading oil for factories to support your bad starting economy really doesn't work unless the war has already started, by which point it's already too late for economic buildup. i rushed nationalizing the oil fields and had it by 1937 only to realize that almost nobody was buying it. the other fundamental problem with this is that you can't use those civs from trade as your own factories to pay for resources that you buy, which you need a lot of because iraq only has steel and oil. so you end up having to build your own factories with factories from trade, which doesn't make sense if civ factories are meant to be an abstraction of money

this feels like a massive oversight that would have been caught in QA on like the first playtest tbh

it would have been really cool to have some stuff for agencies and the influence trade spy operation in the OPEC path to make buying oil from you in the early game more appealing

you can tell it wasn't even tested a single time because iraq's whole shtick is that they are supposed to get their civs from exporting oil, but you can't use factories that you get from resources to trade for other resources. so you have to use those factories to build your own that you can then trade for the resources you need to make stuff, which you will need a lot of because iraq only has steel

i actually just realized that this is not even the first time paradox has had a focus tree like this, and it released to the same exact problems

in BBA there is a swiss path where you can spend PP to pressure nearby countries to give up states which you can then core as a new canton

and on launch it had the same problem of the AI not taking what's actually in the state into account and just giving it to you if you had high enough relations

They were extremely powerful on release. But the appeal of TOA nations now is their core manpower/formables rather than their buffs. Buffs which are still strong though!

On release, Argentina was able to get like 20-28%+ attack
