1. never withdraw to the dineper, hold the germans with 240 divisions southern axis with 120, it gives you a good offensive potential
2. invest into air, most soviet players ignore it but its worth it
3. only get civ greed until 37, you can spam mils and create a massive airforce and land army ( tanks are optional )
4. this one is quite self explanatory but dont accept finnish peace offers and always attack them since they join germany anyway, make them a puppet so you dont gotta deal with the northern front
5. you can battle plan sometimes but your going to pay if you do it too much
6. invest into proxy wars ( spanish civil war, ethiopia, china ) it helps you a lot
7. go right side of the mass assault, your combat width goes down which means you can attack with more infantry in battles ( your primary army )
