Senate elections are based off your current support. The house is set to 50% support at elections, and then multiplied via some variables like the election_factor

interestingly, the 1936 have an election_factor of -0.5 (you roll a random number from 0 to 1, and then add or subtract your election_factor) whilst the 1940 election has an election_factor of -0.6. So the 1940 elections are more difficult to win house support by

So it seems that the best bet is to boost support (or reduce it if you want to go Alf Landon) to above 66% so you can't get RNG'd on by the election and pray that the house rolls good for you

Can someone please help me figure out why planning bonus isn't ticking up on my units?

I am playing Nationalist Poland in Kaiserreich, where I am completely encircled and am on the defensive. Now, I set up a field marshal line with the shift click option, set a big frontline, and it just doesn't tick up for ≈3/5 of my units.

Spies are indeed a problem, but according to the stat I see while hovering over the planning, while my max planning is at 60%, spies only contribute -33% or so - so it shouldn't sit at 0 for my units. My planning speed seems to be fine - when I open the army overview it tells me that it's 100%

Does it only affect the units around the front of the arrow? If so, should I draw multiple offensive orders? Mine covers like all of Germany and Austria-Hungary - should I make it smaller, less wide? Does me getting constantly attacked stop it from ticking up as well?

I also have to extensively shuffle my units on the defense, occasionally switching one to a new general to hit a last stand - does that impact it at all?

Most importantly, how do I get around the problem, whatever it is? Lmk if you need screenshots, but I think I said everything relevant

train a bunch of 1 unit horse, then convert them to empty, paper tank divisions since manpower on tank divs is less

you don't need tanks to convert them, they'll just be empty on supply forever, but have the men in the unit

you could probably convert them all (or most) to special forces after that
