Suggestion is delete noth hoi4 and the launcher, and reinstallas the launcher is installed into your documents folder not the steam install folder it doesnt delete when you reinstall via steam. I'd suggest backing up saves first though

There could be a lot of reasons for the game to fail but I will say that spamming is never a good idea.

First thing you should try is validating the game

In your steam library right click a game, find "Properties" then the "Local Files" tab

You should see the option to "verify integrity of game files"

The game is fairly CPU intensive especially in the late game. The latest generation I3s I would say are the bare minimum to have a smooth experience in the game without turning down graphics settings.

When my mod list fails to load i usually click the manage mods button then at the bottom right i see a reload installed mods button, i click that, and check the box it pops up with, and hit ok, then i wait a min or two, and my mods show up.

I think I possibly found some sort of bug, I was playing as bulgaria trying to get the baltic unification (democratically.)
Basically I had 6 factories making guns and 3 making support equipment for 17 of the base divisions. Suddenly I look at my troops and they have %100 attrition and my stockpile is -9000 guns and -500 support equipment. I cannot replenish anything even after cheating in extra military factories. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Yesterday I tried to use them but they all of a sudden failed on me again

This game has so many issues that need to be fixed its just so annoying, like some of the bugs are years old.

I got some instructions on how to maybe fix the mods not working in the launcher

I contacted support

and

heres what they responded with

Please try the following:

• unsubscribe from all mods
• delete the folder Documents/paradox/HOI4/mod/
• delete the file Documents/paradox/HOI4/mods_registry.json
• delete the file Documents/paradox/HOI4/launcher-v2.sqlite
• subscribe to a few mods
• run the game up and see if those mods are now available to you.

steam will re install them regardless if you have subscribed to the mods so deleting them won't mean you lose the mods entirely

Hey I have this weird thing with the game, I've been looking all around online, so far have only found like 3 dead discussions on Steam from 2017

whenever I hover my mouse over some pop-up or over diplomatic actions or over leaders or whatever, nothing shows up anymore

same thing for events and modifiers, so that makes the game... much more difficult to say the least

I tried all of the following: restarting the game, restarting the computer, reinstalling the game, validating game files, messing with UI scaling, setting up higher priority for the HOI4 process, etc etc

Unsubscribing from mods doesn't automatically delete them. If you want to get rid of the files you need to do it manually under Steam (folder) / steamapps / workshop / content / (hoi4 mods folder which is a bunch of numbers)

find the windows installer file 'Launcher-installer-windows' and select remove when its launched

when done, relaunch the installer and it re-installs the launcher and fixes the problem

and if you do, you can save preset loads, otherwise known as packs

You edit the dlc_load.json file manually in your Documents. It's what the launcher does.
