Extreme lag is made when field marshall defense orders are used for 100-200 troops

• propably because each unit calculates so many paths each tick

• It's also very tedious to select each province one by one

• There should be a way to draw a front line along nations
  I.E. I'm playing as the soviets and cant draw a line from Prussia to Romania; because of Slovakia, Hungary

• Extreme lag is caused by irrelevant nations, like the central american states, middle eastern states.
  A game setting to combine these tags like so many mods do would be extremely nice

• Automatic trading system, where you select the nations

Even at 1945 I was running as fast as my old computer was at 1938

But for whatever reason, at random, the game save freezes, never quite crashes, but freezes, and the save just does that from now on

Maybe if I’m lucky I can force it to shut down , clear the cache, and reopen, and it will last another month or 2, but then it happens again and it’s never recovered past the 2nd freeze

according to some people in reddit, they uninstalled the game and deleted the game folder and others things related and then reinstalled the game again. You should try to move the game to another folder, outside of the root folder, for example a folder outside of C: Program Files in windows, just in C: SteamLibrary.

I wanted to point out that there is an error in the Spanish translation. I cannot say how long it has been there. I just verified the integrity of the game files and then manually checked the Spanish folder in “localisation” to see if the error was still there, and it appears that it is, which means that it is an error in the game (in the translation). For now, I have noticed that the keys: (FE_DIFFICULTY_MODIFIER_PLAYER_TOOLTIP, FE_DIFFICULTY_MODIFIER_AI_TOOLTIP, FE_CUSTOM_DIFFICULTY_TOOL) have errors in the spaces, such as: \n

Delete the /map, /history and /localisation folders in there and it should go back to normal

It's probably maxing out a single core, the game is multi threaded (contrary to what other people might tell you) but a lot of the game's calculations are required to be done in sequence for reasons I don't remember

I have been having problems with my launcher recently, my game is original, I already tried verifying the game files, reinstalling the game after deleting Hearts of Iron IV from my documents, repairing the launcher, running the launcher as administrator, unsubscribing to all mods, and removing the file mentioned in one of the error messages, this happened after I added Road to 56 to my playset and activated it for the second time.
I can still play the base game but I can't use mods with these issues, if you know a possible solution please reply to this even if I posted this days ago from now on. 😋

desynchs in mp can be attributed to a lot of things but mostly :
Mods (through events or peace deals in particular)
language difference between players (especially with mods, very rare otherwise)
save file corruption (generally because of multiple hotjoins, people swapping to a dozen countries in the pre-game hub for no reason), this one is irreversible

Guys do you know what's happening? basically its saying that there's been an error or an instance that ended with code null. The only thing i did was to change HOI4.exe's permission to administrator, cause before it was telling me if i had access to launcher-v2.sqlite. When i open HOI4, this appears on the launcher.
If i close it and open HOI4 without any mods, nothing happens, i can play it. But if i try using any mod folder (which, curiously, every single one of them got deleted suddenly after opening HOI4), the next image appears. There, it says that HOI4 doesn't has the permission to access to my documents.

Guys i had issues with my game and i gave it admin Access and the game itself works but the launcher seems to be broken, ive tried reinstalling the game, the launcher, clearing cache, giving admin Access to the launcher, nothing works. The launcher does some very Sketchy stuff now, for example mods that i install (i can only install on the HOI4 modding site) don't have icons and have weird versions, for example collapsing world: Rise of radicallism says its on version 1.0 of the game. Also if i open the game with mods on, it just boots up vanilla. Does anybody know what to do in this situation?

Ok I have this issue and I can't launch the game at all (game freezes then crash when reaching the main menu). I have done everything possible with files (steam re installation, manually deleting every file linked to the game, file verification, starting with or without dlc, clearing cache, disabling cloud, deleted mod files, no subscription on the workshop) and nothing changes. Hi, I just tried to launch HOI4 through steam. The Paradox Launcher opened and I instinctively clicked the 'Play' button, not noticing it needed an update. Halfway through loading into the game, the game froze and the audio went crazy. I had to power off my PC to get it to close. Now the launcher refuses to open and I have to search for the HOI4 app in my file explorer to play it, does anyone know how I can fix this?

The Kurdistan focus tree feels incomplete and underdeveloped compared to other regional content.

Many mechanics and ideas seem to be copied or transferred directly from Iraq without being adapted to Kurdistan’s unique political, military, and social context. This creates noticeable gaps in gameplay and breaks immersion.

The focus tree itself is very small and lacks meaningful long-term paths. There are almost no branching choices, internal politics, or alternative outcomes, which makes playing Kurdistan feel shallow and repetitive.

Kurdistan should have its own distinct focuses covering areas such as:
– Internal political struggles and autonomy vs independence paths
– Relations with Iraq, neighboring states, and global powers
– Militia organization, unification, or centralization
– Economic development, oil control, and regional trade

Expanding and reworking the focus tree would greatly improve balance, replayability, and realism, and would make Kurdistan feel like a fully realized nation rather than a side extension of Iraq.

Every time I as a player or AI controlled Italy annexes or takes ownership of the territories of Yugoslavia, it immediately crashes the game on MacBook.

Hey, so I tried launching HOI4 through steam, I got into the paradox launcher, clicked on HOI4, whilst it was loading, it hard crashed and I had to restart my PC to get out of it. Now when I try to open it on steam, it gets to "Stop" and then just, stops. I tried launching the paradox launcher through my game files, but that doesn't work. u need to go into local game files and then scroll in the files until you see the "launcher installer" file. double click on that and go through the paradox launcher installation thing
