What i did was, first, disable all mods, try vanilla, u should have the same as me (as u tell me it didnt work)

Then go to mydocuments/paradox/hearts of iron 4

Delete all inside, be aware that all ur saves are there and options too, so if u have headphones be careful because music will be very loud

If not, then verify files on game properties

And check again

the xp gain is gradually reduced each time your general lvls up, gains a trait and if they are promoted to field marshal

at some point, you'll have so many traits that your general just won't gain any XP
also, max level is lvl 9

before it only took montly save (depending on your setting) and one when the game was set to close but it didn't impact performances

accept the invite
tag back to your country

I'd try to create an exception for steam and all hoi4/paradox related folders and then verify game files integrity
currently your errors are related to the exe file so it'd make sense that your antivirus would interfere in the game function, probably through a misflag that appeared after an update

played it at 1 x speed

no external actions but it crashes just before the peace deal triggers

Im having issues with running hoi4 (even trough my pc should be more than capable of running it), my pc constantly seems to completely freeze itself after a certain time and i can only reset it with the power button.

this can range from just a few mins to maybe even 30 mins

also the issue doesnt seem to be overheating

i have tried reinstalling my game, completely getting rid of paradox launcher and etc, reverting to win 10 and nothing worked

(btw this issue has happened with other games before, but not nearly as consistantly and quickly as with HOI4)

You need to think at 5x the rate an average human does so you can fit those intervals

If you want to play hoi4 you will have to learn this technique

or else it's impossible without a new pc

Hello, one of my friends got the Steam Communication Error (this only affects the workshop, game's working fine in vanilla). Yes, he is. The exact problem is that the workshop is running fine, he can download mods from it (we checked the workshop's folder, and we found the mod folders with exact file size), but it seems the game or at least the launcher can't find or communicate with the workshop folder, since it runs fine in vanilla. <@&916727924093239336>

I need help getting my old Kaiserreich save fixed. The saves are loadable - I have the right versions of both old Kaiserreich(1.4.4e) and the version stated in the individual save files (1.16.5). But no leader is there, all troops and armies are deleted, and stability, pp, ws,... are all set at base values. In the game I can't unpause, change the diffculty, can't do anything at all basically. All mods that were in the previous version are there again - aside from update differences (Player led peace conferences being the only non visual one). I attached ss of my /mod file and then what's inside of the Kaiserreich folder. Docs were transferred from an older laptop to this one via one drive, but I tried to transfer them several times and I tried a bunch of stuff of zipping the files before uploading them... nothing worked. I'd be happy to provide the save .hoi4 file too, but I have no clue what the policy on doc sharing is here, so let me know if that's possible please. Honestly ready to give up but thought it was maybe worth a shot to see here, thank you for the help. <@&916727924093239336>

If it happens with other games i think its a pc software/hardware issue

But manually try and clear the cache

It sometimes works even when u reinstall

How to manually clear cache (This is more reliable than doing it in laucnher)

1. Open file explorer
2. Go to Documents/Paradox Interactive/Hearts of Iron IV
3. Move the mod, save games, Screenshots folders, as well as career profile files to somewhere else on the drive. (If these don’t exist or you don't care, ignore this step)
4. Delete everything in the Hearts of Iron IV folder.
5. Put all the moved files and folders back in.
6. Launch the game again.

Also g2a is not a legitimate reseller

For other games: yes, for Hoi4: he did, but also downloaded mods from elsewhere before, created a mod folder, and that was before the launcher broke. I’ve checked different countries, their focus trees, and political branches, but none of them has a national focus or decision that ends on October 10 or 11. I’m also playing without historical focuses enabled, and my country (Argentina) doesn’t have any war, focus, or decision ending around that time. Why would the crash still consistently occur on October 10, 1940?
