did you delete the whole map file or just the world_normal file

because if its the whole map file then you just put it in the hoi4 file

Is there currently a way to change the Paradox Interactive folder to a directory outside of onedrive? Since it automatically makes the pdx folder in C:\Users\username\Onedrive\Documents\Paradox Interactive I’ve been having issues with pdx save files eating all of my onedrive storage when I don’t want them to. Onedrive is incredibly unhelpful as well with this since I can’t just set it to not back up the folder since that gets rid of all my configs and makes my saves inaccessible

Never mind. I managed to make my onedrive documents not sync with my local documents. It got rid of them from local storage so I had to painfully slowly copy them over from onedrive onto my local drive but I can just delete the one drive saves after that.

For some reason my launcher says the checksum that is gonna be launched is 61fe but when i actually get in the game i get a completely different checksum. This also extends to some mods like player led peace conferences, but when i use the road to 56 mod my checksum is completely fine

That seems like a weird place to have Hoi installed... What if you try to run the executable from a different place? It seems like it can't find the default preferences storage place, the documents/paradox interactive or whatever it is.

I was able to "fix it" by uninstalling via steam and then manually deleting remaining HOI4 files I had. Possibly OneDrive related?

Might just be the AI deciding to delay. Historical tries its best to stick to the right dates but doesn't force the AI to declare on those specific dates. Since it could cause issues with them being unprepared

ngl, I checked the benchmarks and I suspect one of 4 things :

• You have hardware issues (CPU is dying or overheating)
• You have software issues (CPU drivers aren't updated)
• You don't have a GPU and so your CPU is taking in all the load, which it can't handle (dunno why it would only happen now though)
• You have hidden applications using your CPU without your knowledge (virus/bitcoin miners etc.) - unlikely except if you tend to download stuff on shady websites

for drivers, check with AMD updates see if anything is pending
for the GPU, you can easily know if you have a GPU installed by physically looking at the back of your PC if there are specific ports for cables (usually at the bottom of the box) or by opening your driver configuarator (usually NVIDIA or AMD)
the hardware issue is the last resort, if nothing else is working fine

You may also verify the game files integrity but considering the situation, I doubt it will change much (but worth a try nonetheless)

Check the launcher. It should tell you how much space each mod takes up. Since I'd assume thats whats taking up that much space

When I check my devices and drives in files, after I have installed HOI4 on any drive, that drive will have 300 gb space filled up, then when I deleted HOI4 suddenly I've got all that space back

2] researched the basic light tank. Still missing.
3] verified game cache.
4] turned off and on all DLC.
5] checked that the files for the mesh and the TFV content were all present (they are)

Hello! There is an ongoing discussion in few mods community about the nature of the games scripting language. Some players claim it is a direct/partial implementation of Lua, while others believe it is an entirely proprietary PDX-script unique to Clausewitz engine. To clear up the confusion, could someone please clarify:

1. Is the PDX scripting language derived from Lua in any way, or was it developed from scratch specifically for Clausewitz engine.
2. We see a compiled Lua 5.1.4 interpreter and files like 00_defines.lua . Does the engine execute Lua beyond reading these define files, or is Lua limited to internal config parsing only?
   I opened a ticket on support.paradoxplaza regarding this, but I was advised to ask on this server instead.

Well, I disabled every outdated mod, then I disabled every mod except KSRE (adds states, can't disable it without breaking save) and I also tried clearing cash. Nothing helped. I guess the save is just corrupted somehow and instead of a crash it's just keeps desynchronizing the game :D

after switching to a new PC the in-game clock goes multiple times faster, even if we compare it to my old PC with debug_smooth

also using debug smooth on the new one doesnt make the game look like a slide show lmao

Fair, I just don't know if I can play in the late game if it becomes more challenging in terms of processing, otherwise what little I was able to accomplish within steams 2 hour refund policy seemed decent but I might have had to tone the visual settings down

Well, the biggest way to speed up your game is getting a mod that deletes nations

Like central america, south america, minors like mengkukuo

Maybe luxemburg

A lot of mostly mp mods do balance it out by strenghtening the nations like brasil, mexico

Its equipment types thats a big game chugger

Since every nation creates and makes their own types

Well that's comforting to know. Ofc not ideal, but if its only a little lag down to say 20 fps, I can handle that easily. It's an interesting experience essentially min-maxing my games to get the most performance out of them for the money that they can cost lol.

Its not the game thats having issues. Its the launcher. So just uninstall the launcher through windows and relaunch Hoi4 to reinstall it
