I'm experiencing a crash in vanilla Hoi4, January 1939, as the German Empire. I think it's related to my war with Poland-Lithuania, which is coming to a close. I thought, or maybe still think it could be related to taking a city, or cities (Originally it was January 16th, taking Kleice), but I switched to running the front entirely manually, avoided taking that city, and now it's the 21st and I'm having similar issues taking another province I think. But also the game defintely crashes when I try to check on current wars.

Hello, I came here to ask you for help. I discovered this game two months ago, it has become one of my favorite games and I have more than 200 hours of play on steam. But from my first hour until now every time I played the game my pc crashed until I turned it off and restarted it. This happened between 10 minutes and 1 hour of play (almost instantly if I shared my screen via discord or obs). However, it's surprising my pc is pretty good, I have 32GB of ram, a good motherboard etc... I tried everything. I asked for help on Reddit and they told me to check the files via steam, it didn't work, They told me to update my drivers, I did it, it didn't work. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, I emptied the user directory, I removed the mods, I launched the bug-free mode and now it shows me this (image attached) I introduced friends to the game, we even started a multiplayer game but now I can't even enjoy launching the game... Oh and sorry for my English, I'm a young French guy.

Ok, here's what I think you should do :
1 - Try to bypass launcher (#tech-support message), see if it works
2 - Updates your Drivers and OS
3 - Double checks the mods (through workshop page or launcher) and remove any leftover
4 - Find the exe file for HOI4 and Rclick + Run as administrator. Do the same for the paradox launcher, although you'll be able to close it as soon as it opens (you won't be able to start HOI through the pure prdx launcher)
5 - Verify the game files integrity. Fresh installs may miss folder they don't have access to or won't recreate new links to folders that have been moved
6 - Check your antivirus for false flagging and create an exception if needed

Do all the steps, don't leave out any because you think it's working as intended. Only stop if one of them fixes it

Hello everyone. I hope you all are doing fine on this beautiful day. I had an inquiry I hope to get assistance with. The last few days, I have been getting a terrible amount of ping in HOI4 MP. It is not an issue with my connection, as it is stable and quite fast (See attached image). Today, I tried to make some differences within my graphics settings by lowering them and switching from Borderless Fullscreen to just Fullscreen. Moreover, I turned off my second monitor. At first, I got ~150MS. It was much better compared to the 10-20kMS I have been getting lately. After the fix, my friend and I were able to maintain 150-200MS on 5 speed consistently on vanilla. Following this, I wanted to try how it would work with my second monitor on. It was once again working perfectly fine. Afterwards, I tried to switch to Borderless Fullscreen and restarted my game. Once I did this, I began getting 400-500MS. Although it made no sense to me, I went along with it. I reversed the changes I did and went back to the game. However, I was still getting 400-500MS on 3-4 speed even though I was getting stable ~150MS on 5 speed 10 minutes ago. There have been no internet changes, my internet is stable, and no other changes other than the video settings of the game. Now, we have tried to test the MP using optimisation mods such as "SOO Optimisation" (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2270893555&searchtext=soo+optimisation) and I am getting 350-400MS on 4 speed. No matter what I do, I can not go back to the 150MS. None of this makes sense to me and I was wondering if anyone could help me understand why I have such a big difference in ping whenever I restart my game.

Hey I keep having desynch and "lagging" issues in multiplayer. The other players aren't lagging behind but it will say they are and it will perma pause the game to wait for them to catch up. When it desynchs I try to resynch and sometimes it works but eventually it keeps firing the desynch issue, more frequently as game progresses.

I checked online and followed directions to remove cache on me and friends games but issue remained. Couldn't find any solution on paradox forums.

Hoi4 is limited by your CPU. Not GPU. So if you have a PC with a 2060 or a 4070 with the same CPU they'll pretty much run the same speed. Also hoi4 tries to aim for about 24 fps since fps doesn't really matter in a strategy game. Its not a tactical shooter where fps makes a big difference

Hey I keep having desynch and "lagging" issues in multiplayer. The other players aren't lagging behind but it will say they are and it will perma pause the game to wait for them to catch up. When it desynchs I try to resynch and sometimes it works but eventually it keeps firing the desynch issue, more frequently as game progresses.
I checked online and followed directions to remove cache on me and friends games but issue remained. Couldn't find any solution on paradox forums.
If anyone is willing to help I would really appreciate it.

Hello, I ran into a problem, I was making a mod during which I upgraded the flags, but they do not appear, they are displayed in the main menu when the game continues.
I put size: 82x52 in ordinary flags, size:41x26 in medium flags, and size:10x7 in small flags. (files with the .tga signature)

i tried to reinstall HOI4 after uninstalling it due to mods being in my files that i've unsubscribed from but were taking up almost 200GB of space before i did my first uninstall (I GENUINELY DON'T KNOW HOW THIS IS POSSIBLE) and when i started reinstalling the game, THIS keeps happening. it has been trying to get minimalistic battle plans, a mod i have NO memory of subscribing to on the workshop EVER, and this is the 7th time i'm going through this, i cleared temporary files, download, i even deleted the mod folder etc. i tried doing it in the game files and paradox folders too. (I AM EXPERIENCING ERROR 220 FROM REGULAR SHOW AT THIS POINT)
I have deleted all the files in content, downloads and temp, they all had over 39GB of mods in them, but it keeps coming back.

The mod changed the checksum, so editing or deleting that info will just break the save. You cant get achivements to a save that changed checksum
