Hey, So my game keeps crashing for no reason on a specific date of my Italy Game. The date is Decemeber 20th 1938, I have already tried removing all mods that are uncompatiable witout removing the esstial mods (the ones where removal of themselves would cause the game to crash as well) and I've tried saving right as the crash happens to hopefully try and inch my way past whatever is causing the crash and at this point I am at a loss. I've been trying to troubleshoot this issue on and off for several months now and I'm completely out of ideas to resolve - Started around June/July 2023

Issue: Errors for equipment & Event triggers cannot be found when launching vanilla. If I lanch Vanilla will all DLCs off the Number of errors increase. These messages come up before I even start a new game in the menu screen

Troubleshooting steps tried;

I’m having troubles with hoi4 screen resolutions. I normally play on borderless, i reinstalled the game and now borderless it’s at 1280x720. But if I manually set 1920x1080, it’s buggy and it’s not correctly set up. It’s zoomed in, doesnt fit screen

Most provinces/states of countries (excluding France and half of Germany.) besides their capitol are named "State_109" instead of its name. Like for example. Instead of the Polish territory of Stanislawow being named, Stanislawow, it's named something like "State_95". I uninstalled Hearts of Iron 4 today and re-installed it, did the same thing with the mods as well. How may I be able to fix this?

Alright, so I've played for 600+ hours and of recent I've been having some severe issues with the Hoi4 launcher and the game itself.

The launcher always "fails to update" but the servers are fine and my internet is stable.

On top of this the game crashes to desktop whenever I try to load a savegame or play past 1943 in one go.

I've uninstalled my mods, manually deleted my Hoi4 folders, uninstalled and reinstalled, and nothing works.

I've followed guides on steam and elsewhere, but nothing. works.

I have a modded game where I play as Sweden (the mod I use is "Hearts of Iron IV: The Great War" and it's the only mod ever enabled on this save). Recently I have started to have problems with command points where they are stuck at zero and nothing I do changes it. I have tried using the cheat (cp 100) but to no effect, I have also searched a lot on google without any solutions. I have even changed my game file to a non binary one to try and edit my command points directly in the save but after some searching came up with nothing. If anyone know how to fix this please tell. Hi, im having same issue as treeman. Crashes on startup every single time. I've reinstalled the game three times (deleting every file, not just the game from steam), tried launching in directx 9, windowed mode etc. all my drivers are updated, done several restarts of PC, tried the setting fix where fullscreen is set to -yes. User cache has been cleared as well.

I have no mods installed. What on earth is causing this? I used to be able to play back in 2022, but for some reason Paradox games just continously crash now. I've literally tried every single fix I could find on the internet, but it still won't let me play vanilla Hoi 4.

I have a problem with trying to play multiplayer. I cannot connect to multiplayer games. If I'm hosting, the ID won't show up in the ID box, and I can't invite other friends. My in-game name will always be set to "Player," no matter what I set it to before hosting. Trying to join other player's games, regardless of mods or both of us having the same version, doesn't work. I need some help please... i have never had a problem with hoi4 maybe once but i uninstalled and reinstalled the game and that fixed it that was around 2018. AS OF NOW: I can no longer play multiplayer i can join games and people can join me but the game never goes past JAN 1st 1936. LAGS out and says d-sync, once it syncs back up does the same thing i just stated and stops again with the date not moving even an hr into the future....and not to top it all off i cant even play single player because the game lags a freezes every 3-8 in game days. Did you download the mods from the workshop, also turn on debug by typing -debug in the steam startup configuration when you right click on the game before opening it
