Well its not a game issue but more an issue with your internet. All I can recommend is to find a host who's in the same continent as you to reduce lag

I've browsed hundreds of threads on my own issues, after spending hundreds of dollars of paradox games, and not a single post has been helpful, and had to go to shady russian sites just to figure out how to fix mods (uninstalling the launcher, manually, from add or remove programs in the control panel.)

I don't think they'd be of any interest to us here, either, and I have done a thorough search.

Live replies and testing of the issue is much faster, but thank you for proposing that solution.

I don't think it's an issue with your connection speed per se, but possibly more to do with routing between your two locations specifically - google and co use CDNs in optimized locations so the problem won't probably occur when testing ping to them

you probably used some mods that modified your game files. Use this:
Follow those steps exactly:
1- Unsubscribe any mod you have
2- Uninstall the game
3- Manually delete the two Hearts of Iron IV folders, you can find one under documents and the other under steamapp. Those are the usual paths to find the folders
under documents
C:\Users\user\OneDrive\Documenti\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron IV
and under steam
C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Hearts of Iron IV
4- Restart your pc
6- Install the game again
7- Try if it works

A lot of crashes following a new version are related to:

• Game not updated
• Game stuck on an older rollback version
• Steam install integrity broken
• Mods
  I recommend you check you are using the main branch of the HoI4 app on Steam, uninstall the game, delete the folder physically in the Steam install dir if it is still there, reinstall the game, then launch and make sure you have no mods enabled.
  You could also try deleting your user dir (but make sure you don't have any saves there you can about first).
