Update to the latest version of HOI4 if you haven't already. Playing an older version creates a different checksum.

Depending on where you live, the farther you are from the host, the more likely it is you will lag behind because the connection has to travel a larger distance. It could also be possible that your graphics card isn't good enough to handle multiplayer games.

then launch the game with scuffed and see if it works

I use the xbox gamepass version for hoi4 and for years been using hoi4 mods from pdx mods. however a week or two back it keeps on saying "Installation Failed" For all my mods. Even though for a while now i have been using mods on hoi4 with zero issues. yo so i need some serious help, basically i noticed i had this feature called nudge available on my home screen of hoi4 when i quit a game for some reason, i messed about with it and accidentally deleted some province in poland with no idea how to restore but i'd already saved it, i went to load into a game but my game crashed upon loading, i rebooted the game but now i wont even get to the home screen without crashing

i verified files and completely reinstalled the game but its still broken

1- Unsubscribe any mod you have
2- Uninstall the game
3- Manually delete the two Hearts of Iron IV folders, you can find one under documents and the other under steamapp. Those are the usual paths to find the folders

Hey, guys. There was a problem logging into the game. I have never experienced such difficulties. Requires Visual C++ and NET. Framework (Does not specify the exact version). I can't figure out how to solve this problem, so I'm turning here. I can throw off information about the computer, the operating system, and so on. There is no one else to turn to.

save it and close it

-Close Steam

-Search in the game folder the file launcher-settings.json

2-make sure that Documents\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron IV\mod and \Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\394360 are empty. If they are not, delete everything in them
3-start the launcher and make sure that it doesn't display any mods. If it does, exit it and delete the entire folder \Documents\Paradox Interactive\Harts of Iron IV
4-subscribe to a mod you want
5-start the launcher
6-if the mod is not shown in the launcher or shows an error, exit the launcher, unsubscribe from the mod and start the 7-launcher again
8-exit the launcher
9-repeat steps 4-7 for all your mods

top right side of the tab search for the drop down menu to create a new playsets "Add new playsets"

then do "Add More Mods"

and select the mod you want

to play with it on the "Home" of the launcher just select the playset you created with the mod

its just a set of numbers generated based of whatever mods you have

so if you compare the 2 and its the same then you'll know you're both using the same mods (cosmetic mods don't change it btw. So colored buttons and those things don't matter)

Having an incredibly annoying problem today.

Hearts of Iron IV is currently disabling achievements for me due to a "modified game/save file" whenever no mods are currently active or installed.

I've currently tried:
Reinstalling the Game
Uninstalling all mods
Repairing game files using Steam
Loading saves that previously had Achievements enabled (the moment I loaded the save Achievements were still disabled)
Disabling DLC/Uninstalling DLC
Restoring proper Game Rules (ex: Country Strength, AI, etc.)
Backing Up and Clearing game cache using Paradox Launcher

None of these methods have worked for me, nor provided any assistance in finding the issue.

Apparently, there were mods (that were never activated and not in the current playset) that were active. And even after deleting all of them, it still stated the game was "modified".
