• Disable everything in settings except rivers and full resolution rendering. change resolution to 1366 fullschreen.
• You will always want to launch the exe file in directory so steam doesnt consume any of your ram (you can launch from steam when you want to get your achievements updated ). Download driver booster and memory reduct (both free) restart your pc.
• Start with launching memory redux and clear your ram (go in settings and turn the auto cleaning ram after 96% of ram usage. You can exit that now. Go to driver booster and turn the turbo mode on, exit it. Now launch hoi 4 exe from directory.
• Once the menu is loaded go to task manager, click hoi4 go to details, change priority to high, exit task manager and go back to hoi4. Before you start your actual game (iron mode to get achievements) start a random game without achievements so you can access console, type: debug_smooth. You can exit that playthrough and go back to your main one with iron mode since this command stays until you leave the whole game.
• Having too many saves also may impact your perfomance so if you know you are not going back to that saved playthrough delete it. Download fps map mod, it works with iron mode too.
• Deleting your old equipment type from stockpile (old type of guns, tanks, etc.) will also help with the lag.

you ubild ships depending on the mission you need. Mixed fleets are generally a waste
heavy cruisers and battlecruisers should bsically never be built or refitted. Just use the ones you start with
deathstack the whole surface fleet when trying to engage

When building ships, build a composition of

• Only torp destroyers
• Only light attack light cruisers
  OR
• a LOT of torp DDs with enough Battleships or Super Heavy BBs to protect 4 carriers that you'll use
• a LOT of light atk light cruisers with enough Battleships or Super Heavy BBs to protect 4 carriers that you'll use (you'll need 8 capital ships at minimum)

Also
subs are viable in singleplayer but never put them in a surface fleet. Either go all in on subs or don't build them at all
