its called diversify special forces
ohh i heared about it
hera it
thanks man i totally forgot about thats
np
tx
this is a good example
ohh thank you
its not often you will see so keep that in mind
and theyre often bured deep
soviets have a free branch speclaism
for example
Buried DEEP in the all terrible soviet navy focuses XD
i see
I finally annexed Ethiopia but I don’t think I did it in time
When does the annex Aussa event usually occur
Once Italy gets the Tigray province in northern Ethiopia
Wait, if piercing < armor, does that affect only hard attack, or both hard and soft attack? I'd assumed it only affected hard attack, but if it also does soft attack, that makes Space Marine divisions make sense.
no it reduces overall damage you take
So, high armor also mitigates soft attack taken?
you take hard attack according to your division's hardness percentage, the rest is soft attack
so if your hardness is 25% and enemy soft attack is 300 and hard attack is 100, then you take 300*75%+100*25%=250
and then having piercing < armor further reduces your damage based on how less piercing you have
Hello, I need the help with the game crashing, does anyone have advice?
(I'd assumed It was [(1 - hardness) * soft atk] + [hardness * hard atk * piercing effect], but it sounds like piercing also impacts the (1 - hardness) * soft atk portion.
One channel down, #tech-support ?
Don't think that's a thing
U can just click on it
saw it on a video once. might of been modded
where?
The trophy icon in the bottom left corner of the world tension icon
Or just pull up the game on steam
alr cheers
Well I have all of Ethiopia and didn’t get the event
Does the event not have a 100% chance of firing?
Vro I have no navy and the Allies have like inf manpower ;-;
Well the axis
Have inf manpower
build a navy or paradrop
My plan was to sweep into India through Iran to destroy the Axis manpower reserves
invade the uk
then invade japan
is anyone else a major
Brazil
?
you can paradrop the uk easily
don't even need to have air superiority
ofc ideally you do
Since WHEN vro
but don't require it
you just need them to not have planes up
it'll happen at some point
but really just build a navy
it isn't that hard
just spam light cruisers
this design
Ill have good cruisers any day now trust 😭 ✌️
you don't need much research
and annex your puppet Italy
for free fleet
so who
you get way more equipment worth in factories
than garrison cost
like way way more
Just liberate it afterwards lol
Why arent my plane doing anything? The enemy is wrecking me(it is kaiserredux)
Im the one on the right
Same energy as why did germany onvade i rhought nonagression pact
how does "capitulating" for achiements work? like if an ally help me invade uk do i still get it?
Is this bad
Yes you can absolutely join the Axis against the UK, in fact if you didn't it would likely be a whole lot harder. So long as you physically launch a naval invasion yourself as Iceland into the UK mainland and contribute to the capitulation then you should get the achievement.
can i ask here questions about playing and stuff with rd56 ?
do i need to do the naval invasion? if i make wales declare indpedance too invade would that still work
You might aswell send your men into the firing sight of a Browning
I've never seen it done this way, so I'm going to say no.
A lot of people will first naval invade the Netherlands, puppet the DEI and use their resources to build up an army in which they then use the Netherlands as a foothold to naval invade.
Speed is really the key, if you can be speedy enough before the UK AI reinforces the home islands you're home free
yea its the help channel after all
is realiabillty in small arms important?
reliablity is overall not that important
its pretty much useless especially if ur a major
not so much "a major"
Yeah, so long as you have enough industry to churn out loads of them to reinforce your army you're fine.
what country?
israel
cuz if ur not a major why max the other stuff out tho
dude what year are you in
48'
HOLY
Lmao what kind of wack alternate reality is this
idk israel was established in 36'
the allies have still not capped germany
as usual
id say at this point
start a new game
cuz the ai churns out divisions like a madman
starting as israel is basiclly like fighting cancer in rd56
honeslty i think playing a minor not in south america is useless
but ill just load a save just before my indapendce
is it possible to make Denmark leave me alone as communist iceland? he just rejected my independence and declared war and now we both just stare at eachother
how do i form the benelux as belgium
I know if you're doing historical you can just wait till AI Germany invades Denmark, then there is no issue.
is this good in 1938
Why so much political power
wdym
why not
Cuz you could spend it instead
The longer it sits there is the longer it's not used for anything
you change the tank into a spg (artillery) in your tank designer
your factory is so low because you didn't get war economy because you haven't sent out military attaches
and you can use the other pp to hire military advisors to get land xp, improve working conditions, and for agitprop
And the longer it's not used is the longer you don't get bonuses
So i need war ecconomy and to send atachees
attaches to which countriez
you need to get to 50 war support
spain or china
you should have done it immediately when spanish civil war began
if you do that you can get to 100 factories by May 1937
whats a spg
Going for the Kaiserin (Victoria) and The Woman in the High Castle achievement should I placate Eric Raeder or no? I feel it would slow me down due to focuses needed to avoid him rebelling later.
missing like 60 at least
where should i set up defense against germans when barbarossa comes
Ideally behind rivers
Do not let them take Kiev
You're gonna need 2x full army group stacks, the germans will hit hard af.
Yeah so full collab on france is huge as an axis power
Wonder if italy is strong enough to leverage the same thing
you can generally hold AI germans at the border by just spamming infantry
not necessarily
that will depend on your air
the safest bet is to do it along the river from riga all the way down to kiev
but you also need to hold kiev
What’s the difference between spearhead
what is going on lmao
Can this Tank do something?
Nah
Sure?
The RT56 extra modules aren't worth it imo
reconnaisance isn't a particularly useful stat in hoi4
am i cooked
I follow german tank doctrine
it's not worth using cast armor
im playing a rd56 minor nation what supports should i use?
Quality over quantity
don't run MAN as Germany, run Henschel because the buffs are better and apply for all tank equipment
but the Speed nerv with henschel
idk either
i got free war score
i defeated romania
got everything
and somehow got free war score for greece
Can this tank survive sea lion?
also mod broken
more breakthrough
mainly by increasing the turret
also your design is invalid
also don't use amphibious chassis if you can
How do I oppose Hitler and then win the civil war?
This is probably the medium tank you want in RT56
I already have an SP Artrillery (Wespe)
And this think is way to slow
*thing
holy reliability
looks great so far i will produce it
Of course this is interwar chassis and you can upgrade it
just add maintanance
they will fix it
i never make armour with <60% reliability
extra turrets are nerfed in Road, I cant imagine that being good modules?
We got extra optics modules IIRC, those are probably preferable
my first tank had 33% reliability

did you change the tactics system in rt56?
most of the time i go with 70-80%
dont think so
The germans never built second canon into tank except for Maus
Also I guess something might have happened but I don't see any nerfs for the turrets; they still seem to provide 4 soft attack on my end
Neubaufahrzeug
But yeah, other than that no and Maus had a coaxial gun
nobody cares about the neubaufahrzeug and the Maus had a 7.5cm Heat blaster
This would also not be that bad
what should I do now
That our yours?
it is good this design? or best I remove one machine guns module
im wasting my xp btw
I would add a Maschin Canon
I give you one better
(replace the oscillating turret with fixed superstructure if you don't have it)
remove armor plates
how many?
That thing is paper tin
Two
Wait
You don't need to remove any armor plates at all
Just use one engine
You'll be fine
basic rules of plane design :
1 - If you're not using all the thrust, you're doing something horribly wrong
2 - small airframe = 1 engine, medium = 2 engine. Period. If you don't respect that, then you're doing something horribly wrong
3 - Air attack, range and air defence are to be maxed out in this order of priority from top to lesser
4 - Range should always be at a bare minimum of 800km (it isn't great to be clear), 1000 is what you want to aim for a good light airplane. There is never too much range to have
5 - Light fighters always out-trade against heavy fighters, except in the pacific (where heavy fighters win due to light fighters lacking range and not being able to use superior numbers). Heavy fighters are a almost always a waste in singleplayer
6 - Agility and speed are useful but not primordial
7 - Heavy MG are the gun to use before you get canons 2 (1944 tech)
8 - Electronics are always a waste, except for strat bomber meme
Also final thing, you should aim for a range of around 1000 km
At least from what I've seen
true, I'll modify my premade msg
Also 5 should say "light fighters always out-trade heavy fighters" since if you have an equal number of light fighters versus heavy fighters (e.g. in a airbase limited situation) heavy fighters will win. The only problem is that those heavy fighters cost almost twice as much as the light fighters. In singleplayer those would be late-game situations, but by then...
Supersonic jets out-trade everything though. You shouldn't see an airbase capped situation before then
Also as a rule of thumb if you have around 3k 1940s Fighters with at least 1000km range you're probably good to beat all AI. Just build CAS from then on
thanks
Also true, but you should replenish them
true as well, but I'll leave that for people to figure out themselves. If they can't see that producing 50 planes a day against the AI's 1 every week that immediately gets blown out of the sky is a waste, then I can't do anything for them
How do i nuke Japan to surrender? i took those 2 islands i bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the had less then 40 ships
Dunno, have you tried throwing more yet? /s
Do you have the nuclear bomb special project unlocked
It's imperative to reach 40k fighters and lag the game to death.
Do you have strategic bombers?
yea
the nuke worked. they just didnt surrender'
On the bottom right there should be a section where you can toggle on and off raids, specifically facility raids, nuclear raids, and paratrooper raids. Select the nucler raids button
Shouldn't be hard to just invade Japan tbh
i did
yea but i want the achiement
what tf is wrong with rd56 history im with realistic ai
good morning
You should make it a pin
is it possible to invade countries as a minor with the new navy system
i don't understand it at all
like i get barely any naval supremacy
cruiser spam
why cant i draw an offensive line? im holding right click and dragging but it doesnt do anything
is the hoi iv wiki's beginners guide reliable for a new player
I’m in 1937 rn as the Soviet Union and got a question, should I keep producing more light tanks or just forget about them and research medium
Make a front line first
What’s the best infantry template for Germany I beat the Allie’s and about to fight USA and Soviet
What should my with be ? I have 2 army groups of infantry
Don't use light tanks
For pushing or in general?
If there's no enemy ships left then throw out empty carrier bathtubs if there are just spam light cruisers and some battlesbips
How to get more faction influence?
Is their a way to save templates if I make one and wanna use it in a future game?
for holding jus use 16 or 18 widths
do u plan on pushing with inf or tanks tho?
why would you ever push with regular infantry
if on a budget, make special forces
yea true
Pushing
I have seprate tank divisions
36w
Infantry block with like flame tank, hospital logistics aa recon rangers and assault engineer
I think those are the support companies I might've missed smth
Signals are good
Prolly a good replacement for flame tanks if you don't have them
Yuh I'd still run flames over signals if you had to choose between those two
Yeah definitely
But signals are a good cheap option
Flames are better stats wise
As Australis, what can I do to raise my independance from the UK?
prolly focuses
definitely lend leasing and war participation
For micro purposes is 8 tank only divisions good for 1 tank army?
1 tank division is 32w.
Or is it better I just use 4 in one tank army
huh
1st: 36w is meta
at least it was last I checked (like a few weeks ago)
2nd: try to use mechanized instead of motorized
and 3rd: wdym
I mean should I split my tank only army to groups of 4 divsions instead of 8 or 10
why would you?
not sure thats why im asking lol
the only reason why you would is for organization purposes
is it better to stack them all in one? army
technically yes
because of general buffs
but really it doesn't matter too much
i see right now i have 1 army with 10 tank divisions and another with 6
if the stats of the generals are similar there's prolly not a problem
but you get buffs for better generals obviously
in my example whats the optimal way of switching my motorized to mechanized? Should I just make a whole new teamplate?
For example I just started making mechanized equipment.
what year is it
1941
are you planning on doing barb soon?
Should all motorized companies be changed to infantry moterize ? For my tanks
?
you can prolly just swap all the motorized battallions for mechanized and wait for them to fill in
since it sounds like you won't be using them anytime soon
ya
there's no reason to have it in different army
always directly edit template
you can replace slowly if you are producing
don't swap everything at once obviously
For tank divisions Medium
mech is essential equipment, you won't have hp if you are missing mech
idk what you're saying
motorized is the worst you can have
don't ever use it
erm actually!
I just unlocked moterized infantry
use it if you're going for motorized speeds
which you shouldn't
but it's an option
But if I replace all simple moterized I lose thebuffs in forest and other terrain
and you gain nothing
do you mean the support companies?
No template the main part
but if you replace motorized battallions you gain stats
Sorry mecha not moterized infantry *
I currently have 16% debuff on Forrest tiles tho
what
so you use mechanized batallions?
good, use them
No that’s the one I just unlocked
huh
But issue is I get more debuff on forest tile and other types when I replace the normal moterized trucks with the mechanized
you sure do
but look at your stats
make sure you have assault engineer and flame
fixes some of that debuff
in general just have stats and you would break any tiles
mech do take more terrain penalty
Sorry I looked at it wrong
They don’t change much on the % buffs on tiles
Il change it all to mechanized
yeah mechanized is better in every way except for ic and speed
however if you can't get the ic for mecha you shouldn't be making tanks
so really all that matters is speed
and tanks are usually slower than mecha
remember that the most important thing is to actually have equipment
make sure you make the correct ratio of mech vs tank
spend 100 xp to make mech the cheapest
I have big industry to keep up with demand now
my mod just stopped working like all of them because of some disc drive error nothings phucking working
how do you get bulgaria focus tree
dlc
which one
battle for the bosphorus
also does rt56 have good alternative
is it good
i wanna get trial of allegiance too
I believe so
the south america dlc
oh wait
the special forces one is arms against tyranny my bad
trial of allegience and battle for the bosphorus aren't that different tbh
they're both just country packs
although battle for the bosphorus gives european focus trees, so it affects hist games more than ToA
How does divisions dying when they aren't encircled work?
I'm doing a save where Im constantly having divisions get killed without being encircled and didnt even know that was a thing?
What happens differently when they die vs just retreat, my divs are pretty weak only 8 width bc I have very low pop
hp below org for one
So is it just like usually divisions run out of org before HP, but if they run out of HP they die?
Makes sense thanks
this is a bad thing
running out of org is perfectly fine
you can force attack if for some reason your org is low but hp is high and you wanna force an attack
running out of hp, every % of your hp value lost is a % of all manpower and equipment lost from your division
having low hp isnt just bad "because you get deleted" you also take a lot more losses in general
this is especially punishing on offensively oriented units, but there are times where it can be punishing defensively as well
what dlc do i need to buy
The best one's are NSB BBA and MTG aside for the tank plane and ship designer but asides from that you don't really need dlcs
what determines when the american civil war starts if I go down the silver shirts path?
yea i was wondering because everytime i share my template they talk about tank designe and stuff
MTG is integrated so we have ship designer now
Oh neat I haven't played in some time so I didn't know lol
left or right ?
right
idk, right looks nice because of laissez faire
go down the napleonic path
where is that
youll find it the last option to the right
do down
and youll see the bonapartes or smthing
is 3 industry research bonuses not amazing?
you dont need it as the usa
oh i was just looking at the french focus tree
the us starts with 170 civs give or take
oh ur right
yes it is
go right
it is but you also need to take account of when 1939 hits
i don't see the napoleon side maybe its a dlc
hmm maybe
can u take a ss
sad i really like napoleon
maybe it got nerfed in other dlcs
la resistance
oh lol
best nations for beginners yall?
brazil/romania/china/usa/mass mob russia
bet
i have the romania dlcs
is it good?
also i like getting into the action
it has early war when you have 400k troops on the field
you will need to learn troop amount abuse to do wars early. teaches basic game mechanics but don't have enough industry to do something other than special forces
Should i accept?
even if its the us you still do
I sell them the plane when i want to attack them?
no good quality
Okay i will
milk the ic off of them
i was about to say if you dont put your air over poland you should be able to seize some of the fighters you sold to them back once they cap, though im not sure if its a good idea to push poland in red air
not that they have cas in the first place
My Luftwaffe is bigger
shrug then
if you can make 2000 fighters by sep 39 then 40 extra planes dont mean anything
1000 even
Right
okay then free money i guees when can say to this money
I did
How can I play china and win (defeating both communists and japanese) without La Resistance?
Yo, which one do you guys usually go for as Italy?
Is Retention important on the mid-late game stages?
As Italy. *
Increase production
....Just play china?
LR has nothing to do with China
anyone got a good marine template for japan?
Pray
Watch yt videos, don't do the tutorial
i think bro may or may not have meant NCNS (other dlc that had china alr integrated i think)
but what do i do?
Try a game as a minor first
To get the hang of it
OTherwise too many flashy symbols
Like ooh navy dead
Don't do that as a minor
search a tutorial on yt
i played a game with italy.
Hearts of Iron IV can seem complex and sometimes overwhelming, but today @hammotimee will guide you through the basic concepts that will rank you up from Cadet to General in no time! In this complete beginners guide, They'll be covering everything from setting up production to divulging the secrets on "How Navy Works". Study the guide general - ...
Waut which dlc
always italy
do you have
uhhh
waking the Tiger, anniversary pack, battle for the bosporus, death or dishonor, la resistance and other things.
Uh send me a screenshot of all of them
Ok what's that
What's Waking the Tiger 🥀
La Resistance and Battle for the Bosporus seems like the only main game
NCNS is quite important
ncns?
oh.
Maybe that was No Step Back
By Blood Alone allows you to modify plane designs in quite a lot of detail
And another one allows tank modification
Could you briefly explain why do you prefer Increase Production instead of Specialization?
I like seeing the reasons and thoughts behind the decisions...
Efficiency cap is more important than effi base and growth
Thanks a lot!!!
alright but, what do i do?
good country to first play as for the first 100 hours I would say is Italy.
do yall think i can defend all allies as france if i have mechs everywhere with forts and puppets like everywhere except for italy and switzerland so i can buy resources from my puppets?
it’s 1949
uh what
i need a ss
uhhh
i would say paratroppers but britian is so op in air too
ur best bet is to make heavy fighters and transport planes
germany kinda carrying air
and do paratroopers
so should i sacrifice my guns
?
how many mills do you have 😭
i hate how bad spain is
cuz i aint gaining supremecy
sure but my mic is broken and i still cant fix it
is that ok wit u?
me too i had an ps5 controller as mic but now it does not work anymore idk why will probably buy one today
ok then lounge 1?
1949
i’m planning on doing an big ass defense too then organize my navy to kill the others
no airforce
but i have aa
but if i have aa on my units and build like stationary aa will it still be a problem
i could build many super heavy railway guns to bomb their airports
u know what you could do
ye?
create a new template with only AA and have them engage along with your main army
will that kill planes?
but how many do i need ?
motorized aa will do
bro
aa not arty
yea yea nice
motorized aa
see
the idea is that ur main troops push
yeah
ur aa joins the fight but due to windth they dont take any org damage
HOWEVER
they still can shoot down cas
yeah because my other strong units will take the defense
youll need a huge amount of factories on aa
that’s should be easy
and u have support aa on all ur divs?
btw can they declare on my puppets?
okay but how many of these max mot aa so u think i need
like 24 normal divs and 6 aa
yes
I usually use light tanks for infantry support. And medium tanks for breakthrough and less focused on soft attack.
Is this an effective strategy?
1960 or something like that or will i still be able to win?
very very you need to blietzkreig thats why u need motorized aa
as in flame tanks?
yikes
but my armoured artillery then? they can push trough anything with supply
see ur speed
yes but theyre very slowe
ahh but that’s okay
take it as a rule of thumb you cant have inf and tanks in the same div
but in the long run i still win tho?
nah i think it’s okay
Wow same medium tank for tank division and light tank for inf except i use medium flame tanks, idk if it effective but works for me
see then why yuse spgs
like still they push but it goes a bit slower
use normal arty if ur doing it with inf
the whole point of spgs is to be faster than motorized and normal arty to keep up with takls
yeah but no soft attack then but thank you for your help i think im going to continue now
alr tell me how it goes
yes
Alright, the only time I have ever used a heavy tank was a playthrough with the German empire trying to mimic all military stuff they had
tbh idk i only build military factories
im buidling some civs now to be able to buy more
im just storing them so they dont attrition
thanks
How do i naval invade britain?
you'll need dominance either in the channel or across norway
but you should focus on beating italy first
why italys kinda my friend
without them i couldnt have won france
cus i dont know how
then who are you fighting?
if you can't beat france as germany you should try and follow a beginner's germany guide
Kill italy and uk at once also remember to kill ussr
im allied with ussr and i will focus on uk when i get all that crap out from the middle but i dont see a reason as to defeat italy
Ok kill uk need good navy maybe italy navy help
ok thanks
once you kill italy you should be able to get their fleet which helps
having good air and naval bombers will also help a bit
if you need to build navy from scratch then you need at least a year or two to get all the ships ready
i cant even kill italy cus im in a faction with them and ussr is the leader
show template
am i cooked
Whats your template and how well supplied are your troops?
Maybe. Looking at the notifications at the top of the screen there's a lot you can improve
im not sure what this means can you explain
Look at the top of the screen. There's a lot of notifications which show you stuff you might be missing
Like empty research slots, unassigned military factories, unassigned dockyards, unspent political power, unassigned divisions, unspent army xp and that you're lacking resources for your production
also, you visibly fell for the classic noobtrap of just falling back to the river giving up on good terrain to defend on, especially for no air build (forests reduce air support efficiency ; marshes are a pain to attack, bessarabia also has a river)
ik but Im a noob
last time I tried that I lost all europe by end of the year
that's why I'm telling you this
you aren't losing because of the terrain
If anything I'd be betting that you're dying to enemy air
If your industry is 186 you're definitely not beating germany
No line will help you unless somehow a Maginot was built on the river
do you thnink
but im on civillian
cant really do anything
Wait also why do you have 1630 pp?
yes you can, AA is there specifically for that
Why didn't you spend it?
did u put support aa in ur divs
yeah
Just restart the game
civilian difficulty I'm supposing
im spending it on all I can
and yeah im on civ
Spend your pp and switch to war economy
i did
Civilian diff and 186 factories in 1941?
show div templates
Try to follow a Soviet guide then
It will teach you how to defend and most importantly get 300 factories before barb
its regular 18 width
What is your stockpile?
ok
how do i check
It's the notebook icon
First thing when you start a new PDX game: try all the buttons
that's WAYYY too much artillery and extremely outdated ones at that
basic thing to understand : you divs hold and deal damage based on stats, stats come from equipment in the division. If you're lacking equipment, you're lacking stats
DO NOT send divisions with no equipment on the frontlines
DO NOT train divisions when you're already in big deficits
so i should as of now stop training divs
I was wondering why my troops were dying to one enemy division
You're still training?
Stop it then
You're at -400 guns every day
In 3 months you'll have -100k guns at this rate
and please, adress ALL the popups at the top
You can try saving it but tbh it's better to restart and follow a soviet guide
Also how did you get -10k tanks
How many tank divisions do you have
the orange bar represent strenght (manpower+equipment)
if it's below 75% consider those divs to be unfit to even stand on the frontline
Like a 36 width tank division requires 500 tanks at most
Standard USSR template but my infantry have one line artillery
Wait what is your tank division?
You have 800 tanks in each division?
yup
36w is too expensive which is why I built so many 26w divisions. I have a bigger tank deficit but it is cheaper now
you always want to mix tanks with mech/cavalry at the beginning
tanks by themselves have no hp and org
In this patch build spgs and inf/mechs for your tank divisions
ohhhhh
around 50/50 ratio
You really should follow a Soviet guide
probably
i mean its saveable just
not worth it
Can Alex the rumbler fix it?
i think its fine for learning to start with civ difficulty
just for learning what each thing does
without being as pressed about losing always
k ill restart
guys i declared war on usa how i can go to usa while i am in asia
What country are you?
Jordan
Do you have like military and docking rights at the soviet union?
no i am using MD mod
how can you make a civil war?
Oh then i dont know maybe islamd hopping
y'know what, i'm gonna play has france and try to beat germany.
You need to hire an political advisor for another thing like communism then you need to hit some buttons to get 25% support then you can start it i think
question, where and how can you use tanks?
You need to go to division traning and there you can change divisions and just add tanks
its good ?
Make it 36 width and replace the tanks with spgs in sp and TDs in mp
Can you explain more?
About spgs/TDs?
They have higher attack and demand less equipment and can receive buffs from both artillery and armor subdoctrines
elo I'm new and I have a question about how to set up troops to take over on their own and there's no need to sit on it
You mean in support
Replace tanks with spgs/tds
Where are your tanks located?
Also when you get flame tanks you should add those
whats spgs mean
i got it
Artillery tanks
oh
Go to your tank designer and change tank role
bruh, how can you have supply?
I guess I didn't search for it
Tank designer
Not division template designer
Also you don't have flame tanks produced yet
yes
shall i attack?
so, what do i do?
What year are you in?
i have divs on italy too
look bro
u want me to invade belgium?
try but u divs on revers line
so, just defend
Yea wonder why ur bars are low :thinkge:
lmao
Maybe get some
how?
found it.
now germany is attacking benelux.
i feel like i'm placing wrongly my troops.
but u divs behind the rever
Good marine template
rever?
i mean river
France is very defensive focused.
A lot of people will give shit, but extending the maginot is one of the safest ways to prolong. You can beat out germany in the long run in the future
Time benefits france, weakens the axis.
alright.
I wouldn't even bother with tanks or expensive units,
A 21-width inf, and some AT is the easiest way to win.
I notice your supply for your tanks and motorized was extremely low. you'd be better off using their equipment for more inf, or just straight up cutting back on production and making superior fighters
And to this; Yes, the maginot is one of the best defended lines in the world. You don't need many troops, especially not offensive divisions. Linf inf, and arty online I'd reccomend, and keep the rest near benelux
Fortify, bunker down, and make small encirclements on the coastline when possible. You just need to whittle down germany, not blitz them.
i've started a new game now.
Best of luck!
ty, i'll keep making questions soon.
How do you play as the Yunnan clique? I don't have no compromise no surrender (overpriced af), but the update changed a lot of things. I want to do a succsesful chinese run, but I enjoy playing as the warlords (for some reason). Is it impossible to win as them?
shall i care about "missing equipment production"?
if the missing is air plane or somthing not important u can leave
it
when does the game "click" for you? how many hours did it take
As native Chile what grand doctrine do i wanna do?
AT is purely useless in singleplayer
see the noticeable lack of a full orange bar on your divs ? it means you never want to attack with them
UI IS IMPORTANT !!
alot happened after i sended that.
that advice is still a vital part of playing the game
units have no strenght = they have no stats = they are worse than useless
and reading UI elements is absolutely essential to any playthrough
can anyone halp me with modding here?
yes, but SPGs are best
and also, how can you fix the "low supply" problem?
don't overstack divs,
motorize supply lines
ensure you don't lack any truck, train or convoy required
don't go too far out from supply hubs
don't get your convoys raided/you railways and trains bombed
if supply hubs are overcharged with supply demand, upgrade railways. That's the ONLY situation where you need railway upgrades
im playing as italy as my first game what am i supposed to be doing to fix lack of fuel
import oil and do your fuel refining techs (**NOT the refineries techs)
also, don't send out your navy for nothing
yeh just puttem on hold
so i take like the rubber and oil line?
NO
you take the rightmost tech, but it's low priority
so fuel refining?
yes
refi oil tech is basically useless in vanilla, rubber tech should be required later on if you build air but that's it
is this a glitch?
i make my troops go to a designed tile, they go there but go back again
i think i already took the synthetic oil tech though
they are assigned to another order
you start with 1 tech iirc
pls
what part of the focus tree do i go down
no idea
in ethipia you push and try to encircle right? thats the combat loop?
just put the air support planes up (not the fighters !!! and only use the air support mission) and Bee-line to addis adeba and nearby supply hubs
delete all cavalry and tank units, and most divs in the mainland to get equipment
i can just have the mainland divisions come in too
im completeley new btw
yes but only bring in mountaineers and regular inf, everything else that isn't in ethiopia you delete for equipment
italy declared war on me on 1938, wild.
hey how do i bring the fighters back
select and right click on an airport
but to be fair, they're useless so you can delete them and they'll go to stockpile
you sure theyre useless?
yes, they're extremely outdated (they have no stats and will get shredded when you go to war) and etrhiopia has no planes to fight you with
I thought I clarified, but might have just forgot. Against players.
oh, my bad then
😭
Soft attacks the only thing you really need on tanks in SP, i use howitzers instead of cannons typically
read a bunch of thext too fast
no no not at all lol I'm just tired
forgetting what I said
bruh, i'm so cooked.
best tank designs for panzer III bases?
easiest country for beginners?
afghanistan is the best choice.
i dont have middle east dlc 😔
oh
sigleplayer?
yes but what does that have to do
jk germany or US
add support AA to template
because in singleplayer you want soft atk maxing through SPGs
in multiplayer you want heavy TDs
ohhh
singkeplayer
the tank temlate
yes, there's a support company slot available, add support AA
germanys pretty hard imo but thats just cuz im inexperienced i think. and yeah us is easy but its cause you never really do anything
i beat uk france us and ussr as germany on like 100 hours
learn the basics with tutorials, germany and italy is also kinda good to learn
elo I'm new and I have a question about how to set up troops to take over on their own and there's no need to sit on it
wym take over
BitterSteal did a 2026 vid about how to germany its 1h40min
oh god 1400 soft att
but include everything weather you have dlc or not he make sure to include the difrences
normal for spg you can get 1k+ soft quit easly
yeah im following it but i feel like if i just follow in his footsteps i wont really learn how to play
yh just use it as a refrence point for anything you dont get
bro i never play with spg im play with tank
even with normal tanks you can get high soft attack but not this high but atleast you have more breakthrought
im always play this divs +i make 36 cw.
is there any other good country for beginners than germany? i feel like germanys a bit too big for me
united state
not bad but you need to add more support companies
canada
i won against germany has a beginner...
in this run i play with ussr and i dont have engh time to res.
bro play as germay
if u are beginner
i am not saying your temps is bad just saying that more support will make it better
i am beating them in a civil war.
it can work with just shovel and arty
yes
i start thinking make spg divs
Can this game be learned
???
how can u fix this, it's annoying. (i need 170 towed anti-aircraft)
Fill the supply
Or forcedrop the divs
is there a mod that replays a players game with timelapse styled units
produce more of anti air
you're lacking required equipment, produce more
also, NEVER train divisions that will drain your manpower close or down to 0
always have at a bare minimum 20% of your deployed manpower in reserve (if you have a 200k army fielded, always keep 40k manpower available as a bare minimum if you need to garrison some land or have enough to replenish divs defending (while waiting for more manpower)
HELP ME HELP ME HELP ME
I've mostly conquered south america starting as Columbia, but things are getting scary for me right now
I’m technically at “war” with Germany, but I only fought them while conquering Brazil.
Germany is starting to collapse and I need to continue the war as long as possible, bc the allies will just claim the majority of what I conquered unless I declare war on them soon
America is still extremely strong, even though I caused them to go through a civil war so I’m scared of going to war with the allies
I have 0 ships and like all tier 1 planes
Please give me any and all tips, I’d like to wc, but I’m not sure if its possible atp
I just wish south america had more steel 🙁
Hi what are the best templates in general
Read pins
idk gang thats why you need player peace conference
this is ask for help if you want the best channels in general you have to go to #hoi4-general
are you in the allies or the axis
what do nukes even do?
destroy planes, damage units, damage buildings, give a debuff to troop stats in the state
im fighting against the axis, but im not in the allies
so im concerned for when the war ends
Its nearly impossible to both eliminate the communist and fight the japanese since I only hage 1 year prep
yes
just fight in europe for war participation points? also dont make planes if theyre trash
i dont like any of your army lol
for me, impossible. in my last game as bolivar empire i fought to retake eastern russia, pushed all the way to just outside moscow and still got literally no points
i am extremely poor in the steel department
its always subjective to terrain and resources/industry
im aware
ive done a variety of south america runs
your tank divs have too low hp and you dont have the terrain, resources, support companies to even make them decent
so scrap them
go for special forces like mountaineers/marines or marines/rangers and combine it with air
you need to do an air build if you unite south america because thats the resources you have
your attacking infantry also sucks
space marines can be good because you combine the high hp (and thus low losses) of infantry with the breakthrough of tanks (defends while attacking)
your units do not utilize either of these really instead opting for "armor" which, while a nice buff, is a pretty unreliable thing to go for and will see you losing out on much equipment as every time you change tank chassis you lose all production efficiency
doing things like armor clicks is good because you get breakthrough, chassis and welded/cast armor are not typically worth it and will leave your research further behind
in reality, you always wqnt to be well ahead of time on the techs your build uses
as a generic tree nation, you should also have 1942 guns in late 39 maybe early 40
because you get enough research buffs for this
what is the diference betwen the normal nuclear reactor and the civillian nuclear reactor??
Civilian gives state bonuses
And I think produces nuclear weapons slower?
Civilian reactors are really good though
okayy, thankss
afaik no
Yeah I didnt know for sure
Thats why I put the ?
Good to know that they dont
same
i dont rlly use normal reactors because nukes are last resort of cringe anyway
I forget that the nuke stuff exists lol
in sp
how to get gud as usa
good for bullying
