while tank is never
production tech and concentrated techs and gun techs
all you ever need
Concentrated tech ?
industry
need advice on germany playthrough in this vc
Mare armored cars good for combat ?
For most cases, no. But apparently they could be used for snaking. But I could be wrong
Yes
But we are obv forgetting about the 1 in 3 billion chance to happen scenario where it’s 10.5% better than infantry
What scenario?
Idk
anybody knows how i can impove relations with spain more? i literally only need +1
can't have more than 100
ffs imma have to bnaval invade gilbraltar
can someone help me pls
idk why the game is lying to me
it says here the cost to refit my CV is 2.4k IC
but when I then refit them it jumps up to 4.6k IC
why cant i do this?
the first cost is accurate
the second cost is fake
it's the cost of the entire ship
oh i see
so the dock one is wrong?
you can see from the time that the first cost is accurate
it is the cheaper one?
yes
the game is correct but incorrect
it shows the total cost, but as you convert a large portion is already completed
yeah I see
it doesnt subtract 🙏
Fate of checoslovakia is it better to set up as puppet or annex it all ? I’m Germany
Feel like with 50% compliance it’s better to annex it all no?
yea annexing it is the best option
so i only have the base game and im struggling massively to do anything, should i buy a dlc and if so which one/ones?
No step back is usually a recommendation
Is it normal that my axe pilots gets shot down a lot ?
Should I just replace with new ones or should they be pulled to main land be under training ?
can i call you in a vc?
Wdym
i think his pilots are killed a lot
Do I get the Calvary experiment if all my divisions in an army has panzer but the template has moterized infantry and tanks mix ?
On my general *
I dont believe so
How do I bring down the soviets when not playing as historical germany, but instead fascist britain
I have capped every other starting major minus the soviets and italy, and imperially federated
Last time I stalled out very badly in russia
Tanks and planes
Forgot about china
They survive
For now
Tanks I litterally just dont
I did all this with only infantry
Mostly since when playing fascist britain you basically constantly have an equipment shortage for like the first half of the game
Thanks garrisons
The soviets got the full balkan states
None of poland I have it all
I whacked down a bunch of max level airbases and anti air there
And built some rails for supply
Never mind china declared on me
I have to go fight china first
anything saving the US
Press the ~ key, type “annex all,” hit enter
In all seriousness though, you may wish to restart
Or try uploading to disastersavior.com
Whats the difrance betwen many small with devisions and litle big devisions?
smaller divisions can retreat back, reorg, and cycle back into the frontlines, which prevents your units from losing all org and being forced to retreat when they can still fight
problem is smaller divisions have lower hp so they take more damage
Or in better terms biger and smaller combat width when defending or atacking
also, if support company production is an issue, smaller divisions require more units for support companies
bigger is always better for attacking
but for defending you have to make a choice
Whats ur choice?
Nvm
ai? or you?
cant even see the situation because youre just zoomed out
probably speeding through waiting to die
depending on your forces its either fine or 12 months too late
you have to pick 🤷
larger less losses (might even deal enough damage for ai to not be able to attack) or smaller but hold longer at higher losses
and also, smaller units can cover more tiles
Wait are there any other downsides to larger devisions?
no? not really
not really, except that if you can't build enough equipment to equip enough divisions to fill the line then you will have gaps
you just have less org/chance to reinforce battles
but that's a production problem
not always
sometimes you just dont have manpower/industry
id do large inf as afghanistan since its a small front, easy to defend
but say you have to cover idk china-russia border then youd do small inf because 1: you can afford the losses on the defense
and 2: small units just move more fluidly with frontlines
so it depends
minimizing losses defensively is not the most important factor; not all your units need to "pack a punch"
i like playing with tanks, special forces as "elite" units and you reduce a lot of casualties just bt using offensive divisions to attack instead of regular infantry
ai, I'm helping in the invasion tho
How do i take the monarchist path on US?
theres none
you could
as monarchist uk make canada form north america and thatd be with a monarch
and then like tag switch over
Thanks
Man, what's the solution to defeat Japan as ROC?
Should i focus on the government or the army first?
When will the dlcs go to sale?
Latest it could be is probably easter in early April
is it vanilla that turkey joins axis after soviet capitulation
or is it one of my mods
im trying to find the event in the mod files but i cant find it
Sometimes they join in vanilla, but rarely for me. But usually that happends when im trying to do the byzantium empire thing
i went to germany and saw event id gersovwar.31
im just guessing thats from reichskommisariat+
but i cant find it in files
are supersonic jets GOOD?
u need the second special research project
the first is bad
and only then its good but hella expensive and youll probably wont make much
if u have lots of chromium then sure
alr
Hello! I haven't played this game much, so I decided to play with friends using the mods: Millennium Dawn Modern Day and Millennium Dawn Directors Cut. Quite a bit of time has passed, so I'm looking up what I need for the "start forming Scandinavia" solution. I noticed that for some reason the requirement "Sweden is under control, at peace, and all national territories are under control" isn't met when I'm playing as Sweden. More precisely, I've already created the Swedish Empire focus. This requirement works in new games. Could this be because I have war goals against Finland?
If necessary, I can send screenshots
Ask in the millenium dawn discord. Millenium dawn is a complete overhual and everything is changed
basically a new game that has hoi4 mechanics
oh okey
who should i promote to field marhsall as germany? guenther von kluge right?
anything goes
you are already so powerful just do what you want
Is capturing spies completely RNG? Because I can't catch any with 7 counter intellegence but my own spies get caught in USSR after 1 week
alkett or rheinmetall?
could someone explain whats going on?
they both have the same flag and name btw and no civil war indicator
they arent even at war
I think it’s just Ai shi
makes sense
are basic cruisers capital ships?
With Medium Batteries, yes, else no.
should i learn aviation before navy. Navy seems to be kinda useless, but at the same time useful since every tree has that "pupper britain" or "conguer war gola britain".
i dont see it
Top of the faction overview then IIRC
You do need to kick Gansu unless theyre your puppet
guys
i need. help
im sorrounded by soviets and their puppets, im thinking of kicking them from my faction but idk
i want to conquer them
I would take the allies out first.
i am the allies tho
oh my bad
seems easy enough to beat them
How is it going
i hope you have triple collabs
but also how are they pushing you on the balkans
also get your support up
you have enough pp
Yea its going well
Does anyone have a save were they alr did all the work 😭 i just want to declare war and have fun
Awesome
teritory is so messed up tho
nice
now kill Poland to fix the borders
real
True
lol
im a bored beginner what country should i play to entertain myself?
Finland
i belive they will refeuse but pull you into a war either way
Idk
did I send too many planes or what
germany is losing in 1943
or are they just incompetent these days?
i am USA
Rockets u build rocket site and stock it with like 100 rockrts and u can use them to launch rockrt missile barrafes
I tink u can launch icbm from rocket site nuclear raid if its close enough
Hi, very new player here. I'd like to get help with combat. Before i get to some real fighting, i ofc issue frontline order, but once the fight starts my units start to shuffle around and lose all entrenchment. what can i do to prevent it?
huh
oh
IVE BEEN IN A WAR WITH CHINA FOR 3H
NO SUPPLY ITS SO ANNOYING
i might cheat and go delete their units
@hexed parcel would it be cheating if i go delete all their units
its just annoying atp
Factually cheating
Im loosing it like 7% supply
build railways
A bit late but if you don’t like your units moving by themselves you can lower frontline cohesion, it’s in the bar where you make the frontline. Set it to none or strict or whatever the options are called
THANK YOU! would that also help with them moving away after they captured a province?
no
If you set it to none they will literally only move when you manually order them to
basically they’re just not on a frontline
When did consumer goods get reworked
I remember being able to reach 0% back in the day 😢
thanks big dawg. The Sudetenland won't fail this time
For MP do is this good enough or do i need more?
MP: Military police for territory managment
what dlc should i buy? i got no step back, arms against tyranny, götterdammerung and by blood alone
can someone tell me why i can't use my ships here
no
you want to fill the div with cav
because it will use less divisions, which matters when you have supports but doesnt when you dont
You need to assign a home naval base of the fleet in the area, so Vladivostok
how do i do that
Click on that little gear above merge fleets
ty
Its to the left of where it shows stettin, and make it auto chose a home naval base
i got it thx
You're welcome
hm, set up defensive lane at the beginning of the game, want to move them to actually guard borders to stinky neigbrours and once they arrive, they just turn back (cohesion - immobile, Area defense - guard borders)
Do I want planes or radar on my subs?
Or can they kill convoys with torps alone
are la resistance and no compromise no surrender good dlcs or arent they worth it?
I saw a video on YouTube that says if you stack subs each one in a task force and put them on patrol always engage it drains your enemy fuel is that real ?
From a real standpoint, If i was deciding, La Resistance is a much more needed DLC.
No compromise is just too expensive for me, especially for a DLC
almost the game price
what features does it really add? I just want the game mechanics
Adds trees for France, Spain, Portugal, reworks the resistance and garrison system, adds collaboration governments, and adds the spy agency
I meant no compromise no surrender. I don’t really care about the focustrees since I don’t really play in Asia
ahh
Trees for Japan, China, and Philippines, the navy system is a little different and rangers
Doctrine rework is a base game thing, you also have the reworked hist japan tree so
I think you dont need it
okay
so it’s just bad?
In my opinion, for the price yes
if it was $20 i would say grab it
but other dlcs are cheaper and add more content
Ya, unless No compromise is on sale (It wont be) I wouldn't get it
coming from someone who has played since 2016
also are the dlcs good I’ve bought? No step back, götterdammerung, by blood alone and arms against tyranny and songs on the eastern front
I was 6 there
I’ve been playing since December
since hoi4 was on sale
Nice, it costs so much less on sale
whats the strongest possible divion possible? idc abt cost
why would you not care about cost
maybe this? maybe you do heavy SPG tho
that shows me you have guns
you always care tho because investing into air is good if you have excess IC
i can mass produce anything i got like 300 mils
rookie numbers
this is how i dedicate my mils if i have air resources and enough ground weapons
Whats the better economy focus for germany in endgame? Does the four year plan realy achieve 0% consumer goods?
wdym endgame
if you never ever go to war then do left side i guess
and if i do?
then MEFO
also go to war before 1939 typically
your relative strenght is a lot better
like mid to late 38
okay
okay 👍
the mil buff focuses are amazing to do tho still
1936 war
Intresting
sudetenland right after anschluss
What are some good early-mid game mechanised infantry templates? I spam infantry for almost all my playthroughs, since mechanised are way too expensive, but are there any good builds that use them?
not really in sp
in mp they're used for stuff like the Atlantic wall
What's the atlantic wall?
the coast garrison Germany has to prevent the allies from landing in Europe
in sp its just pointless because you can use normal inf and the ai won't ever get through it
in mp, if the allies land, Germany is cooked
so mech is best to hold because it has the most hp
I see! I never play MP, but I've always been interested in Mechanised divisions just because Canada gets so many boosts for them
war is over
300mil+ deaths for this
is the Russian empire path removed? Idk y its gone, i swear i had seen it before 😔
🔥
time reignite the war and this time finish all of earth's population!
no this is great actually
theres gonna be less late game lag after all the death
true
no? its still there
One of my puppets just dropped a nuke on an enemy, is there any way to find out which one did that?
some sort of log perhaps
how do I raise compliance?
yo can someone give me tips on how to get a lot of manpower
mods i use :tfr and rise of radicalism
tfr: soviet russia
You can raise your conscription/volunteer law, allow females equal combat roles, or reduce draft exemptions
conscription isnt allowed in tfr
You can change it, only at war though
ohh ty
i think i can win european war easier
almost won without changing conscription once
Should i get the no compromise dlc or graceyard of empires or trial of allegiance. I dont have a preferance on gameplay and stuff but which one should be better or fun. And is it true that if I dont have them dlc focus trees do the ai still use the dlc focus trees?
i dont see it tho
it should be on the right side, but it isnt
heres the normal tree for comparison
My millenium dawn is missing the descriptor file, how do i fix it?
How many tank divsions should one have? Should I just infintily make more and more at all times? Here is my template. Im making 4 bet they are set to inifinite
it should be 36 width
you can choose 8-10 armor and the rest be inf/mech
also spg and tds are meta now in sp and mp respectively, convert your tanks to spgs or tds
Can anyone help me to learn the Soviet union please
Just do purge focuses, industry focuses make some infantry. Really all you need tbh
Oh i mean how many divisions should I have for a template like this
that depends on how many you can produce
Should i just continously make them? infinitly?
i can produce 120 36 width spg divisions before barb as ussr but that's because i know how to fine tune the industry and design
you need to figure that out yourself, do you need that many? can you produce that many? can you supply that many?
and will focusing on armor divisions take away your air production or navy production if you need navy?
Can someone help me with my stalemate in germany?
Can someone help me with my stalemate I went down to oppose Hitler but now the war is in a stalemate with a slight edge to me the rebels
why cant i form greater germany?
probably because of the Reichskommisariat Moscowien
if i had to guess
isnt it fine if my puppets control the states?
i dont think so cos YOU dont control it
thats dumb
how to counter attack germany soviet turk and italy
are u still at war? if yes, all currently worldwide states need to be under german controll
so i need to take out america?
if so thats also weird because ive seen the ai do greater germany while britain was still at war with them
Speaking of Germany, did PDX ever fix the bug around the focus that needed you to cap two majors?
Do I go Adopt New Panzer Doctorine or The Prussian Legacy in Army focuses
For the Supreme Leader focus?
Did it eventually
anyone know a good offensive template as austria hungary?
I made UK and France Capitulate
yeah that's easy but for a long time the game couldn't recognize that you capped those two already
Yeah well happened as well in same game
I capitulated USSR and France in that time and didn't count
Any countries good for learning that are harder than playing as germany and britain?
ussr
Oh boy
Truth
Also japan
Ahh
Japan is honestly very fun
Not really
you get to learn how to bonus focuses, how to build an industry, and how to use your army
but playing ussr doesn't teach you navy
One run I should do is the destroy the traitors revere the emperor
I did historical and its actually so fun
Well after the Germany episode on completing Plan Z I thought why not give it a go trying to beat HOI4 with a navy as a NON navy nation. Sure went well though...

Isp beg to differ
How much of that is shared with japan?
Just trying to guage where im at in the learning process from nations I have been successful with
Any help guys?
New japan is fire
depends on what you want to build
See the division I mean
or just out produce germany so much that you need to dec on hungary to start barb
Also heard italy is good for learning the game
Also valid
Adopt New Panzer Doctrine or The Prussian Legacy for this division
I don't know, I took it from here
I want to try this division
So I asked which way I go
you really shouldn't, hp is too low
idk anyone who knows which side gives more buffs to armor cars
Dang
but yet they held all the mainlands territorry. its not about the war. its about having controll of each province you currently have a foot in
Is USA fun to play ?
Depends
Usa is more late game nation
It's beginning and maybe mid game kind slow which is boring for some
If you want to build this div aka go with the speed divs i will say watch the yt guide some ytubers do and get an idea about it and how to set it up
whats the best way to get naval superiority after the new uptade? If there is a video abt it i would love to see it
Spamming light cruisers with good light attack is probably the best tldr
Honestly it is still pretty much the same
Have a couple of ships on patrol to spot the enemy and the rest on strike force to save fuel
Just a small mechanic's changes here and there
Neither do
hp is fine but its bad for newer players, you just move fast
relies on proper modifier usage to push
i don't think newer players have the ic to replenish the losses
but is armored car hp really supposed to be that low?
i thought armored car is a very bad replacement for motorized inf
Yes
It's on its own, after all
Armored cars are more like weaker tanks
But faster
Should I rush for fighter 2 as Germany?
any all around good tank template that works for any country? low supply, can be stacked on a tile, can push, etc
like ive been trying a number of division templates and none seem to work very well idk, might just be because im missing smth
no
tanks are situational, depending on general, MIO, terrain and supply
you can push them into bad situations in sp and be okay but theyre not good at it
well theyre better if you go for speed and have like 5 hp each
if you had to suggest, what would a good division template be, and what should i prioritize when making my tank
where tanks are like 0. something
in tank designer)
for general usage or
what are you looking for
In sp maximize soft attack/production cost
i want one that can shred infantry
so ik soft attack is essential
but ive tried prioritizing it and it doesnt work out too well, it might be because of my template
or poor design choices
here youre asking for a div to use anywhere no?
yes
is that still the goal?
and i also just have the issue where i cant have more than 2 tanjs on a tile before it starts suffering from logistic issues lmfao
ok i have a better idea of what i want
You can try light tanks for hills, but the IC isn't really worth
i want a tank that can have like 6 divisions on a tile and not suffer from supply issues
i feel like its not asking for much because like sometimes you gotta push a stack of inf
What is your template? What is your division? How about air? Supply?
actually most of the time
i neglect air, usually i just do anti air, supply i usually dontr upgrade railways that could be the issue, my template is 11 infantry or motorized and 4 tanks (this always changes though, i used to do more tank heavy divs)
Dawg air is crazy
you dont
its 2-3 max 4 per tile
with tanks
Dont neglect air😭
it will
your generals are just bad
or theyre untrained etc
youre probably missing 90%+ of stats
which like losing idk 60% or 75% of stats in sp is still fine because youll still insta win
SF space marine is top tier
how do i drain enemy org fast, just soft attack? idfk
oh mb i pinged him oof
good stats are 6K and up btw
it says in the screenshot
i get to like 500 soft attack MAYBE
😭
how do i get 900 soft attack on a division, and how tf am i supposed to have 3 of THOSE on a tile without suffering a lgositical nightmare
modifiers?
more green is better
i have an example of a shitty overpriced div where its like -1000% modifiers vs slightly positive modifiers
one sec
how do i get a 90% planning bonus, all ik how to do is a general has a +10%, and so does grand assault and grand battleplan
same div
this is before doctrine changes screenshots but your stats should be higher now with correct doctrine choices
bruh
thats just substitute for veterancy
by force attack stacking which you shouldnt do
i think im doing so many things wrong, like where do i even begin lol
unsure because i cant see your game
like i said i get 500 soft attack maybe lol
any, a lot of the time i do soviets, but genuinely i just want a division and tank design that can just break a stack of infantry
what 5 doctrines do u suggest, im assuming grand battleplan and grand assault are in there
@glacial steeple how tf did u get 300 breakthrough on a ranger only div wtf
You can read my bio
Depends on hardness
ok is ther edeadass not a single good all around division, atleast for sp
like bruh
Dont give too many shits about hard attack ai makes bad tank divisions
The 36w armor division or 25w mountaineer
Replace mountaineer with ranger if you have ncns
just pure mountaineer?
supports, MIO
whats an mio again, isnt that the like
That's the design company for your equipment
oh
i just dont get howe people get such good stats are mio's and supports really that goodm like i look at the supports you put on yours casey and it gives like plus 8 breakthrough and thats it like i dont get it
cuz you didnt design a light tank with high break?
or flame tank
How on earth do I export MORE than I am extracting?
because youre on free trade?
I am, but thought it would max out at my extraction
it gives things to the market
if it goes to the market, its like the invisible void
Cause isn't free trade 80% to market and not 157%
you get none that goes to market
What is that?
Ohhh, not played than yet lol
youre extracting 872, 698 is going to the market so you have access to 174
I am extracting 51, 80 of which is going it market, and I am using 1 rubber
Which is the issue, why is export higher than extraction to being with?
ohh youre a puppet
Nope, free
odd
Some supports give percentage based stats, which is why flame tank is so op
Oh wait, realised I was at war with Siam and lost 66 rubber there
design it
Is there a reason why Neglected Countryside's research speed hasn't changed? For the past few years it's been the same. I'm playing as China
For an offensive infantry/arty unit (thought I'd switch things up), is it worthwhile to stick with cavalry recon over motorized to keep fuel consumption at zero?
both are pretty useless
fuel consumption is also not relevant
the best recon to use with doctrine is light tank recon
or ranger
Ranger requires DLC, and armored recon buffs tanks, not line arty.
what do i do in this situation
just as i got the indians to leave me alone the turkish start jumping me
turkey also declared on me even though i was in the saabad
germany is stuck in a stalemate bc they kicked out hitler and apparently also the thought of going through benelux
so communist france has capitulated, how do I deal with the soviets on the maginot?
Hahs ice cream
push them out?
but like, how do I deal with the level 10 forts?
you attack from multiple angles so the forts are less effective?
and probably use like actual pushing divisions with CAS
Any tips for Nationalist China? I think I've got the hang of it but as soon as I lose one port, the Japanese balloon really quickly esp if they take one near Nanking
retreat, artillery gives better stats than gun
stat per MIC anyway
you do need guns to stay alive
I usually start with 6 factories on gun and 2 on Artillery, should I buy Arty from my neighbors?
no
just go higher on arty than gun tho
youre not gonna fix the guns
Alright so I should focus on Arty then?
I have a question: in real wars, food for soldiers is one of the most important resources. Why isn’t it mentioned in this game?
that's just logistics i think
like it's implied that's some of what's in the trains and trucks
food and ammunition are both just not in the game
imo ammunition is kind of needed
You can open the achievement tracker in the game. Top right corner is where you find it. If the achievement you want is still highlighted you can still get it.
Guys, whats the best templates??? Idc if it's cheap or not, idc if it takes many equipment
for what? tanks?
does anyone know how can i beat UK as germany in historical mode?
played for 100H ( well mostly as iran )
still can't beat UK
i can't even get into their land
Assuming you beat France. Set up ur naval invasion with inf on 2 tiles 1 which is port across the channel. Wait until the invasion is fully planned then put ur main fleet on patrol never repair never engage so the supremacy ticks up. Then click the go invasion button and it’ll launch when you have supremacy. As soon as you land make sure you don’t get encircled. Once you’ve got a few tiles send the rest of your army and battleplan
Easier than it was before the supremacy change imo
yeah eu is basically done only uk left for me
ill give it a try ty
Check pins
are these good volunteer divisions
ay, i wanna do an austria hungary playthrough. but i want to war germany solo
is there any way to either get the allies not to garantuee poland. or to make germany not attack poland?
i dont wanna be on a timelimit to defeat germany before they attack poland
You don't need the cav recon, but you might want to add AA. Else this is a good early game Vol. If you want to do Tanks you would want to use Cav to grind a Combined Arms guy tho. And if you have free spending you want to use Mountaineers. If you want to improve on this add Field Hospitals and Scout LTs or even Flame Tanks.
is it ever worth spamming light tanks instead of mediums ?
imo if you make them really cheap and don't have howi 2 yet they are better.
If you make cav Lt's you can get something like 40-50 lt's in 1938 as a major iirc
not really
I think poland get guaranteed if the world tension get high enough i think in the 20s or at 30%
For Germany attacking Poland that smth will always happen even in alt ger path
Unless they go danzig for guarantee
Or Slovakia for danzig
is my game bugged? i have 4 30width aa beefy infantry fighting against 1 barebones infantry div and even if its green i cant attack/take them they just keep on existing
please help me
It is because in spanish civil war there is offensive decisions per state, if nationalist o republican spain didn't take the decision for that state you are fighting with -75 % attack
what 😭
I've been trying to use this desing. But the game tells me that it exceeds thrust. what is wrong
is that cause of a dlc? i just bought some new ones
Yes, the resistance dlc
how do i counteract this?
You need to wait for one side to meake the offensive decision
i see
I think you can see it by clicking on the state, but maybe they removed it
so i just attack states if i see that the other are currently attacking it
Mmmmmm yes, but no all the time, some times one side attack with the -75%
what am i supposed to do then 😭
Just try to atack one province and try if it works or you have the -75%
how to see if its the -75
Time ago you can saw it on the state info, but i think they removed that option
thats bs
Yep
And for you to know, is not only -75% attack there is to more things that annoy you, like units speed, etc etc
but the bubbles are green?
even if its -75 if im winning the battle shoulkdnt i still win
Yes, because you are winning
But
You will have a battle of 500 days and will take you a bunch of resources
is that only for the spanish civil waR? or generally for volunteers
yeah ima just NOT do the civil war
is there a way to disable it
Mmmm maybe by mods, but in game idk
if i pull out wil facist still win? it probably doesnt matter right
is this bugged? im germany and im still producing bf109s
Do you have the resistance dlc?
I played germany like 3 times, i don't know to much
germany usually alr gets basic stuff like basic air
all these dlcs are messing me up man 😭
Yes I know that, but I can not tell to much
to pull out do i just delete the divs
Hahahah yeah, i have all the dlc and when you try some noew country is confusing
Yes, or stay in madrid and wait the war to end
In madrid or another city
yeah i just disband them this civil war is bs 😭
It doesn't matter
i cant even anschluss yet cuz my military is too small
FYM 24 TIMES THE BATTALLIONS
ID HAVE TO MAKE LIKE 200DIVS
For the anchluss you can make divisions and early deploy them
yeah im currently doing that
Make smaller divisions
but its based off the battalions
I think game ia counts how many divisions, not the batallions
I can tell it because i did ultimatums with divisions of 2 batallion
also one que stion is it worth forming the reichskomissariats? i would get their factorys and such but is it worth getting naval invaded 24/7?
You can put your own troops
For coast defence
And
For me it is worth, because when you get som state occupied you don't get all the bonuses
But depends on the situation
yeah im pretty sure its the new austria dlc. They added a giant one in austria so they make it more complicated to do for the germans to anschluss
Maybe, but idk
yeah and i can still get them with compliance eventually right?
atleast i alr have enough for the czechs and yugoslavia then
yes and cant you still annex them through compliance?
Yes, but I think you don't get the bonuses anyway
is retrofitting a good strategy?
im making some heavys with a bad gun rn to retrofit them with the 7.5pak once i unlock it
the advanced at
By complilance you can get more bonuses, but you can not reach it like and essential state
and i dont have to garrison
Yep
thx bro ur a big help
Yes, but not focus on them, you need tu produce by the year you are
I mean is good to skip one tank model for a modern one, but don't skip all the tanks just to reach the modern one
yeah thisis just for france poland and mayb early soviet war
reliability is just a number 🥱
In that case is perfect
Np
is there a way to get compliance up in states like czechoslovakia or slovenia?
yes by using secret police or military govenour and using cavalry divisions with no support equipment
Yeah, change your garrison template and occupation laws. You can do that in the "manage occupied territories" tab in your main country menu. As the other person said use some cavalry divisions for some cheap but effective garrisons, make sure they're pure cavalry and nothing else (at most, put military police as a support company) and lower your occupation laws. I'd suggest local police force to raise it quickly at first, and then when resistance gets under control more easily, shift to civilian oversight / local autonomy (only available if you're democratic)
When will paradox devs update the anti-cheat instead of making bad DLCs?
Update? By brother in christ, we don't even n have an anti cheat lmao
Not anytime soon assuming
at some point there was
until there wasn't
t'was years ago
I've been playing this game for years I think I would know
So when
like 2018
I'm genuinely not aware of it
yea
This was 8 years ago 💔🥀
Guys, what's the best endgame template???
Idc if it's cheap or expebsivr
Infantry, tanks, artillery, paratroopers and garissons template?
Assuming 36w Heavy spgs
(for sp)
most of the time in the end-game i have like 20-battalion infantrys w/ large unit tactics on, and i either do double special forces (marines-mountaineers, three lines for mountaineers & two lines for marines) and push with that, and/or (depending on my industry) i just do medium SPGs-mech + armored engineer support company, support anti air, and a medium flame tank (in singleplayer)
for naval invasions i use amtracs w/ massive soft attack heavy tanks in them
only one cavalry battalion suffices for garrisoning
Isn't maxed out cav battalion better and overall cheaper?
Like whenever I add cav to my garrison's it says it needs less equipment
2w and maxed out width doesn't change anything garrison-wise, just tested it out
nevermind! it does change suppression, which is better but it'll use more manpower most likely
Idk whenever I get home I will need to check it
Maybe nerd it out
Although bigger battalions will probably benefit more with MP and motorized MP
tested the results of using 2w & maxed width on Hawaii and in fact it looks like the maxed width retains his suppression even when the state only uses 0.14 division-worth of it
so technically the maxed out width is much better!
Assuming you played with USA?
yep
I ain't home and I won't be for a day or two so I will ask you to try it on a newly conquered territory
Bcuz ik I will forget
i'll test it out yea
Alright so I tested out both divisions on two newly conquered (((annexed via console))) states, that being Fujian and Zhejiang, and nevermind, it looks like the suppression bonus of both cavalry divisions are the same as they are scaled depending on the division's width : the maxed out (40w) cavalry is only used at 0.16, and the 2w cavalry is used 3.21 times, it's the same suppression, the same equipments & manpower used!
so in conclusion, no matter the width of the cavalry division, it'll give the same effects!
And then I tested out the light tank suppressions, the bit-more expensive garrison option, and as expected you lose even less manpower with this, so obviously a very cheap light tank division is the way to have the best garrison in order to lose the least manpower possible!
@dry dome ^
Whenever I send an attached to china I only end up with 28 pr 29 percent war support any ideas what the problem is?
Let me guess playing as usa?
Oh shiiii thanks ❤️
Btw
Did you use MP?
nop, but i assume it gives even more suppression
(i never used military police in my life)
It gives a % on the suppression of the units/base suppression hence less resistance and slower growth early on
That's why I am asking lol
36 MP give 20% with motorized MPs giving 30% and with each tech being another 10% at 1943 you end up with 40% and 50% unless I am dumb with numbers and or missing smth
@mystic otter yes my bad I forgot to specify that
Yh i always notice china attache never give up to 30% even in my games
I think that normal cus the game doesn't want a US with full industry by 37/38
something is wrong here
Wow
Somebody has enough guns for 2 infantry spam Russia's lol
should i spam out a lot loads of CHEAP and easy to train divs?
Your default template with support aa added
Add more support companies if you want
answer
Oh thanks , Would i win with them against Belgium? since last update they are very strong
Thankfully I said guns and not MP 🤣
If you have a ton of air support
Otherwise you make tank divisions to push
Which should still have air support assisting them
Infantry only is lame
Do you know tank ( medium ) template?
oh F , i have 18 width on my
Yeah ik that , Bots aren't making tank divisions
tysm!
anyone know what the problem?
Is it a waste of time and resources to train strategic bombers or tactical bombers to bomb buildings on enemies does it even do much or hurt their productivity? Feels like they can just repair it fast
you mean produce
it does hurt a lot but it's not an efficient way to use your industry because ai doesn't have much stuff to begin with
it's more efficient to just make divisions and kill them
What about later when mills are built ?
hm?
it's more efficient to build division/cas yourself and just kill the ai in open combat
most likely there are 43 factories related to trade or maybe dockyards? not sure if dockyards count
but how do you finish ww2 and only get 217 factories? did you do the trotsky path and release all the vassals?
is there a guide for ground warfare, how stats work, how to counter what with what etc ?
no good one exist

i havent even played the game before, its downloading right now. does anyone have any tips to give before i try to learn?
make sure to read all the tooltips, they helped me a ton when i started
it might seem very complicated (it kinda is) but it gets better
by better i mean more comprehensible
it's better to just ask once your are playing for specific things u dont know but generally dont follow any reddits tips. I would watch segl on youtube for specific templates cuz thats the thing that will win your wars. Industry wise you will get the hang of it without guides i think, generally you would build military factories instead of civilians cuz you get decent amount of them from focuses and more from conquering.'
ok ill give it a read, how many hours will it take for it to become more comprehendible ?
If you are not a big country I would mainly focus on pure inantry play just bcs tanks are very costly and long to make as minor. Just make sure you have anti air in your support companies
when u say playing for more specific things, what do u mean?
i mean right now im doing the tutorial so im italy
Like if you open a menu and you are not sure what does it like for example production and etc. you can ask about it here. The more specific thing you ask for the easier it is to help ya generally
ah right i understand, thanks!
So, I queued up a low-priority railroad upgrade. Even with zero factories assigned, it dropped from 12 to 11 buildings needed, and it looks like there might be a tiny bit of progress on the next. Do railroads passively build themselves? Am I hallucinating?
for building civs, unless there are extreme cases (like germany needing 50 civs for 5th research slot and you haven't built to 50 yet for some reason), you should start building mils 3 years before war to maximize your production when the war begins
guys, im thinking of taking poland, for it to capitulise, do i have to take all its land? or only its core so OG poland
Capitulation requires taking a large fraction of the victory points in their core territories. So, giga-Poland should capitulate unless they somehow extended their cores into conquered lands.
Alr, ima.play cheeky and just kick them and insta war so thry dony even have.time.to send tropps
Btw wtf do i do abt my manpower, i dont even have any troops geyting made
Also.so just take the land poland started with gotcha
Conscription laws affect the fraction of population you can recruit into your military, though anything past limited conscription comes with at least some downsides. You can also conserve manpower via methods like using a good garrison template, and you get a little bit of manpower from occupied territories, especially at high compliance.
Good garrison templates:
- Horse cavalry with an MP support company.
- Armored cars with an MP support company (more expensive to build, less manpower, takes less damage from resistance).
- If you lack the armored cars DLC, substitute with light tanks.
hey guys
does the company bonus for equipment apply retroactively?
or only to new research?
or only to new production?
say i have the grumman company for USA
and i have 1940 fighter already researched
does it apply new traits to all the planes I have?
or only to those i produce in the future?
or only to fighter 1944 when I research them?
With base game (no DLC):
- It automatically applies to aircraft you research in the future.
- You can make a variant of your existing aircraft to apply the designer bonuses. It's the little button on the right in the production menu. This will cost some air XP, and switching to the new design will set your production efficiency back a small bit.
Im noy sure my army is crumbling and ill tty those garrisons, im at the 3rd to last consctiption level, and i dont wanna go more than thag
... however, doesn't Grumman only apply to carrier aircraft and naval bombers? Worthless on land fighters, so no need to worry about those.
oh sry my mistake i forgot which is which
but yeah i only used it as an example
so do u recommend i make a new template after I unlock 3-4 traits?
or just wait for future research?
same for every other equipment?
like tanks and artillery?
my troops arent moving via sea
like whenever i want them to move by sea
they dont
whenever theyre gonna get convoy raided like shit
they go thru the sea
theyre on a port and going to another port
mainly tripoli to sicily
Are you right-clicking the port icon on Siciliy? Are the troops actually on the correct tile (Tripoli isn't so bad, but some ports it's confusing which tile they're on)?
Template? If you're talking about aircraft/tank designer, no clue, I don't have that DLC.
If it's like the ship designer, though, one thing I'll do with the US is design an ASW destroyer missing only the sonar, then redesign it to include that sonar the moment I get my naval designer. It costs me a bit to refit the older ships to the new design, but I'm a touch obsessive about naval range.
oh it says 100% chance of being shot and intercepted....
ok but how
we control suez
whatever lemme get my stolen navy
ig
negative oil moment
kill subs with your air
ah
The game isn't always correct on its assessment there, and I wonder if part of it is "there are neutral navies with convoy raiding missions in those zones".
That, or there are hostile convoy raiders there, in which case deal with the convoy raiders. I prefer using patrol, not convoy escort, to slap down enemy subs.
(Also, naval bombers can hit enemy submarines with the naval strike mission, so you don't 100% need a navy there)
that number doesn't mean anything
if you don't have air you just won't cross a raided seazone
we legit have air superiority over the seazone
and i got 77% naval escort with the entire soviet navy
they still
arent
going
The chance of being raided shouldn't stop you from sending troops. Do you have unused convoys?
What the risk of convoy raiding will do is mean the game thinks you might lose troops en route, but it will let you send entire armies straight past the coast of Japan if you forget to set the right naval zone avoidances.
Any tips on how to get 30 percent war support as usa? I always have 29 after sending attache to china
i gave myself 2000 convoys to test
still not working
im trying bengazi too not working
Radio propaganda and a cooperative moustache man. Or, in alt history runs, sometimes Mexico thinks it can totally take you.
ignore all the notifications lol
... Maybe try sending only some divisions at a time? Those are a lot of tank divisions you have, and those take a lot of convoys to transport.
i gave 2k convoys to myself to test
whatever
ill go back to an older save to get them there via land
guh
i need to get to portugal before spain dies
western med is a dead zone tho
the famous hungarian africa cops
technically middle east corps
i moved thru turkey thru then levant and then egypt
Thanks
I meant designer yes since u said the bonus from company only applies after u redesign it
Or maybe I misunderstood u
Basically, AFAICT, "any design you get with a certain designer gets that designer's bonuses", and research gives you a free design for some kind of equipment.
why didnt u sail ?
sail into libya?
well at that point we had no naval supremacy and i wouldve been convoy raided to hell
also my fleet was trapped behind the bosphorus
Do special forces divisions count as an infantry division?
sometimes
how do you defeat germany in 1948 as portugal? germany has 700 divisons but i own all of america china and brazil and iberia
and i am also able to field 600 20 witdh infantry is this posssible to do?
infantry sucks at pushing but you should have more manpower available and industry should be fine too
i have 3 million manpower and a good industry
only amtrac and amphtank are the exceptions no? every other sf is Leg Infantry and Special Forces category
hence the sometimes
Does Fate of Yugoslavia has 100% rate to succeed like with fate of Czechoslovakia?
no and you shouldn't go down that stupid path
just justify a war goal on them
spend your focuses on other more useful ones
when prodcuing tanks, should i start production after all the uprades i want are researched?
Or, do I want to start production of lesser modules to get production efficiency up?
for example her is my Medium tank build.
I will eventually upgrade it to radio 2
Do you guys have any tips for going down Latvia's Communist Opposition path? I always end up getting dominated by both Germany and the Soviet Union. Is there any way that I can play that path well? Or is it impossible.
for one use a howitzer gun and not the small machine gun, use the extra machine gun module
and give it the role of a spg
your tank has like 1/3 the attack than what there should be
you can run conversion
just put a heavy machine gun on the main arnament slot first and convert when you have the modules
(real modules like howitzer, not radio 2)
win
core all of baltics and you have enough stuff to kill soviet
Really?
pick desperate defense and you have manpower
as long as you keep building stuff
easily
make sure to collab them to you capitulate them earlier
then after you annex soviet go fight germany
How the hell do you capitulate the Soviet Union with just the Baltics cored? Like, their combined manpower and industry is still no where NEAR as strong as the Soviets.
it's very strong
pick desperate defense and since you are communist u just go up conscriptiojn
manpower shouldn't be an issue
make more division
soviet would bash into you and kill themselves
then you can start pushing and encircle their divs
Should I just fortify my border with them and let them waste their manpower before making a counterpush?
don't waste industry on forts
build mils
let me find a screenshot
like this is the amount of division you can get
those are all 35 width
Thank you! Is it better I upgrade my current panzer template or make a complete new one based on my medium tank?
if you use small divs you would have like 4 - 5 per tile
research gun 2 and your division would have much more stat than soviet
the most correct answer is this
Damn! What kind of infantry template were you using?
in general that's not a good way to train tanks
Whats the best way to train tanks?
and the starting light tank template is only used as a volunteer template
in this message
it's just pure infantry
Why is that? Is it so my troops are already on the field and they get upgraded as resources are available?
it's one of those small things that have huge impact to your game
so basically if you directly edit a template
instead of using the convert button
the division doesn't lose experience if the edited template doesn't use more manpower
normally, what people do is they deploy the tank and train them in the field
which is very very bad since you lose tons of equipment to attrition
Right
it's like 0.6 * (1 - reliability)
so the correct method is that you first deploy a large calvary div with same manpower usage as the tank
train taht up
which only attrition gun obviouslty
then directly edit that template to your tank template
similarly you can edit your volunteer templates(which should be 36 width) which are veterans into your tank template
so you get veteran tanks
What width though? Did you change the starting Latvian infantry template or did you just keep it?
35
if you use small division just keep it
yeah
probably better spend your xp on doctrine
you very deseprately(lol) need 200 xp to pick desperate defense
so you get the 5% manpower
How do i make my divisions stronger and win more
Desparate defence is under mass assault right?
use this template to attack (these stats are basically at the max in the end game) ((you also want to replace the logi company with helo logi when you can and then replace arty or aa with heavy flame tanks when you can; you can also replace engineers with pioneers if you choose to go down the marine tree instead of the mountaineer tree although i recommend the mountaineer tree as you just get more stats)) (((also those are recon rangers not cav recon)))
Any grand doctrine works. Mass Assault is probably the worst of the four.
Is grand battleplan the best one? Thats the one I've always been using
GBP is fine.
and use whatever template to do coastal defense and increasing special forces cap; you can honestly just use the starting inf templates for majors
It takes a while to pick up compared to Mobile Warfare, but once it does, it's better at attacking if you are making use of planning. Mobile Warfare's main advantage is that it has a lot of command power thanks to Quick Improvization (50 xp spirit), so you can use commander abilities a lot. Superior Firepower has a similar slow start, but it's stronger defensively compared to GBP once you have your Operations subdoctrine maxed out.
you can also get logi focus as a spirit when using grand battleplan which gives you -10% supply use and -10% fuel use for air and navy
doctrines are not correlated with grand doctrines now
pick gbp
since you won't get full bonus anyways
the starting ones are the best
can somone tell me a powerful late game tank template to defeat germany? all my templates keep getting obliterated by the germans even when their 40 witdth
if you don't have green air and cas then get that and then you'll win otherwise refer to #ask-for-help-here message
anybody that have the petoria mod for hoi4
you might get a better response in https://discord.com/channels/183787140671471616/191407123249233921
mobile warfare is and for a very long time has been the worst
tank divisions should be 36 width and now spgs and tds are a direct upgrade over tanks in sp and mp, respectively
Mass Assault is generally worse.
no mobile warfare has been shit for a very long time
Mobile Warfare, like I said, has the specific advantage of having exclusive access to Quick Improvization.
And Quick Improvization is absolutely necessary if you're the type of player who needs to use commander abilities a lot, for whatever reason.
which is very gimmicky
Depends where and how you're playing.
Whats wrong with it?
It doesn't really give anything.
because it only gives org which is useless for tanks
That's been (mostly?) shifted to subdoctrines.
the others are just better
and speed is a rp stat ever since supply became a thing in nsb
The only thing it gives is through a spirit exclusive to it, Quick Improv.
Which gives a lot of command power recovery and command power cost reductions.
It also unlocks Subsidized Contracts, but you can also get that through Armored Cavalry, too.
why pick those when you can just pick the logistics spirit in gbp
also is tip of the spear still around?
I can't seem to find it anymore
tip of the spear is middle spirit
What’s the best country to play if you’re just starting?
Quick Improv is unparalleled if you want command power efficiency.
Subsidized Contracts is middle spirit anyway, so doesn't compete with GBP logistics spirit.
Canada's pretty decent.
Assuming you're playing historical.
usa to just get a feel for the game and then prob uk for like an actual game
