how can i win against china as japan?
some countries start with guarantees
other get some by focuses
It works differently now. They just guarantee when they can iirc
bruh
Idk faction rules are weird
i hate this
its a faction rule the uk often adds
its rng tho
if they pick that faction rule
and they lose some stab from it
I said that not really, still trying to learn(when we were talking about AC3)
its not a good learning unit lol
get more divisions and pray
Dang
it cant be that hard
Modifiers then?
me when im 100k guns short for no reason
red bad green good
Ahh what
actually in chinese culture its red good green bad
🤓 👆
Neither
Both are fake stats
Well speed is less so
But rel is straight up useless
So I raise speed only or just start the production line
Wdym "raise speed"
Oh you don't have nsb
No don't do either, just upgrade gun and be done
nsb??
The tank dlc
I have it
So what do you mean by raise speed?
Doesn't it the thing that allows to change the guns, change the tracks etc etc
The tank designer, yes
Increase the speed
Yes it does but what for
Speed isnt that important
Armored Car 3
Oml

Ok can I get someone that speaks english
Dont use armored cars unless meme builds
Also dont use space marines
Speed is an ok stat in sp and reliability is also not as important
I am just a sort of new guys
can anyone tell me if i can get the start in a sertain ussr country (georgia) and how
ok thanks
U need to release yourself as georgia, you can only do that via going trotsky or tsarist
waht
could this be a good heavy
Nah
Fixed super structure is pointless, get a better gun, wet ammo is useless, sloped armor is useless, add more hmg and add radio
Add armor and engine clicks too
Yea that's fine then
No no just keep researching artillery until you get the heavy howitzer
In the mean time use whatever
shi has 54% reliability without engine and armor clicks
So
Rel is fake
Don't invest into it
guys im trying to play as poland and germany just invited me to anti comintern pact. wich seems weird seeing that theyre gonna invade me
do they still invade me if i join?
Yes. They will never attack you if you give them Danzig tho
hmm but should i give it to them? and if yes will the sovietrs still invade me?
I give it to them so I can focus on attacking the Soviets. you can easily then take Soviets as Poland
The anti comintern pact is just an event when the Soviets declare war on any member Germany joins it
They will still attack you though
It's not an alliance as such
also is this solid as a standard line inf or should i add some armour/or some artillery?
You can do it the other way around gice the Soviets eastern Poland and take Germany if you want
dont add line arti
id rather give up danzig than half of my country
Remove 1 inf, remove recon, add support aa
Your call
aight
but now i have to also make aa with 14 mills 😭
Put 2 mils on it from day 1
What year is it
early 1937 im going thru the factoriy stuff rn
Are you building mils already
i would have to beat germany first
trust me i would love to
this play through is so boring, japan is doing nothing and italy sucks... its march 1942 and no one has declared war
japan hasnt even attacked china...
yep im cooked
feb 38 and i havent deployed any divs
theres no way i can get divs in time
this sucks
also why as czechs
you get like insanely cheap lights
happens
its why you cycle
atleast lasted until aug 39 this time
till they broke through and killed me instantly
is BICE CWIC and MD good mods to use
Personal taste
alr mari
Okay thanks to your previous advices I managed to do way better.
But now I am stuck in Romania, and I don't understand why. Is it bcs my army is still too weak (despite the fact I crushed Greece), or is it because something else?
Black Ice kinda niche, it’s supposed to be overly complex but it’s alright if you’re into pain.
CW:IC is whatever, TNO is the better Cold War mod but if you INSIST on a historical Cold War it’s there. I wouldn’t play outside of the few countries with long lasting content. Its economy system is not that complex but would have been better with UI changes.
MD is kind of bloated and complex and really struggles with what it wants to be. Tries to be sandbox, but also tries to be kind of realistic, but also wants to be a sim, it has alot of downloads but many don’t retry playing it.
alr
Nobody has any supply. See that brown bar? It’s empty.
You need to make more railroads and upgrade those railroads to supply hubs.
Uhhhh what brown bar?
And set them to trucks
(I'm a pure noob)
Divisions have a green bar that’s organization and defines how long they can fight, and a brown bar that’s how much supply they have.
your army has no weapons
what politcal focus to get for poland? i hav picked april conhstitution but what after that?
Huh???
How do I fix that?
orange bar is strenght bar
anything below 100% is bad
anything below 90% is really bad (because it means you have no stockpiles)
anything below 50% is dire
I already set everything to motor (it wasn't before). So u think more railways and it will be okay?
no i think you have wayy worse logistical issues
check logistics tab/manpower
probably should play a minor country and try to only supply a small army/watch tutorials
keeping a large army properly equipped can be a bit hard for someone starting out
click top right
theres an army tab
youll be able to see how much is deployed vs how much is missing
should i build the escort fleet and modern carriers
This thing?
yes
you see how much youre missing more detailed now
and can click on it see see specific equipments in the fields
Oh wow thanks
its not useful too often but can give you a detailed layout of your armed forces
So I must produce what is missing here and it will be fixed?
well right now you are missing about 60% of infantry equipment
Uh oh
or, your army in the field is more than double the size it should be according to your gun logistics
you never even want a deficit in the first place
much less this badly
Yes
you are missing like 95% of tanks
Well there are a few things I get better now 😭
Can I like cancel armies or whatever to free material?
hello i want some help regarding buying the game
you can disband/consolidate units
whats up
Okay I'll try
under general/field marshal
so i really like the idea of hearts of iron but its really problematic like 50 euros so any help \
I also recommend assigning a Field Marshal to your army as well. Field Marshals adds an extra 50% of their stats alongside your generals
wait on sale/giveaways, i cant help you otherwise
official server doesnt have giveaways but maybe some communities do
events
Okay thx
Why is free France so hard to control resistance ? I’m getting 0 compliance and have 4 spies rooting resistance and marital law for a year and my template is perfect
I took Vichy France and made the rest puppet but not getting compliance
they do spy missions
OMG THIS IS SUCH BS I JUST
WASTED AN HOUR OF MY TIME PREPPING MY ARMY ONLY TO GET THE FKIN RIGHTISST ATTACKIG MY AHH
I think I understood something important
You don't need 35 tank division for a push, just a few right 😭
a few equipped and good units yes
mountaineers/air can also work
You could just chill with 4 tanks divs tbh. 35 is like overkill and fuel costly
did you see the screenshot above
35 tank divs with a total of 240 tanks in them
Lemme check
is there a way to force my economy into free trade? with commands for example
Hey don't mock me I just started the game 😭😭
:p
240 tanks if lights is about 4 batallions
maybe 6 batallions if self propelled artillery
the average good tank div has like 9/10 batallions in it of tanks
so you have about 70%? of 1 good division worth of equipment
You can just use pp to switch to it wdym?
im poland
do the danzig part of your focus tree or lose danzig
so i should let it free? im not planning on a war with germany but if i let it free will they still attack me?
you cant
but they will still attack you
is this https://tanks-encyclopedia.com/
good enough to use as icons for my hoi4 multi mod vehicles like tanks mbts afvs ifvs and apcs?
All about the tactics, technologies, and evolution of the tank worldwide, from World War I to the Atomic and Digital Ages.
@glacial steeple
aw thx casey
btw
where can i find more side images of the vehicles i wanna add and use in hoi4 multi mod?
@glacial steeple
If you are not making them for the support recon company don't make them for your actual fighting template. Just go medium.
Is there any way to cheese civil wars? I'd heard things like "disband the army ahead of time, then force deploy new divisions", but I'm not sure that works, at least not anymore. The other side always seems to get half of everything: half of equipment, half of divisions, half of in-training divisions... the best I can come up with is "convert the entire army to something useless like cavalry, then convert your own troops back to more practical divisions the moment the civil war starts".
don't convert to cav. convert to a division with a single battalion of artillery
it simply can't fight, no org
then convert your units back to normal after civil war start
the ai doesn't have the brain to convert it back
and it'll think fronts are defended when they have this unit on them
Why am I not getting any compliance ?
because you're on secret police
go local police force
or civilian oversight
If you want to boost compliance, yeah, local police force, then civilian oversight, then local autonomy. Military governor and secret police keep resistance low, but basically neuter compliance gain.
No I mean France
It’s been 1,5 year if I lower resistance group then their resistance go up
even worse then
Is it because I’m in war with free France ?
I was martial law only that level will it go
Resistance go up fast
That's how it works. You go to a laxer occupation law, endure a period of significant resistance, then go down another occupation law once resistance chills down to maybe 10-20%.
its fine. don't worry about it
How far up shoud resistance be before I deal with it ?
So 30-40% is fine until i get 20% compliance ?
How I look at it: start on local police force, wait until resistance is down into the 10-20% range before going to civ oversight, repeat when going to local autonomy.
- Resistance grows much faster than compliance, but is capped by the resistance target.
- The higher compliance is, the harder it is to raise it further, since compliance gain is reduced by high compliance.
- This means that to reach high compliance faster, you need to more aggressively go to lax occupation laws and endure a period of high resistance target.
tbh, for france you can just go harsh quotas
and ignore compliance
to get more factories
if you don't play for too long, its better
or micromanage the law for states with more factories
local police force is usually the best because you use the least manpower and guns
That too: harsh laws can tamp down on resistance and bring you more factories/resources in the short term; it takes several years to bring compliance up.
democracies and communist countries have laws that are situationally better
(Also, a very convenient -50% garrison damage modifier)
how long do Multiplayer games usually last? Do they have it on consistently moving forward?
Depends on how well the game goes. Usually about 4 hours or more. And pausing is very rare
So yea its just set to 3/4 speed and set to run
the best laws in order from top tier to bottom of the barrel are :
- Liberated workers (best buffs early to mid game without harsh compliance nerf)
- Local autonomy (compliance maxing)
- Civilian oversight (if no big resistance buff or compliance growth nerf in targeted state) (compliance growth > mid-long term)
- Harsh quotas/Forced labour (Allows for cheaky strats to get 140% factories in states OR really good short term)
- Local police (if issues with resistance in empty states that can't use harsh quotas/forced labour because of lack on industry/meaningful resources OR to save up on emergency manpower)
- Martial law (if emergency with resistance caused from spies. MP only)
- Secret police (basically local police but worse. basically have no use but isn't really harmful)
- Brutal oppression (basically a meme law. Doesn't serve any purpose)
- Military governor (Bottom of the barrel, soaks a lot of resources for no benefits. Is a game killer for france and UK if people forget about it. Outtright detrimental)
i just had the most boring game playing USA, it was on historical but for some reason japan never started a war...
guys im kinda bored in hoi4 what should i do (i have NO dlc unfortunatly)
make austria hungary :>
whats the best choice here
honestly how about roman empire
cause i thought it would be peaceful reunification
but i cant claim faction leadership
due to manpower reasons
idk if you like pure defenses but u can try doing luxemburg or defense as poland against both germany and ussr. If not then try to form euorpean union just for bunch of cores
great stuff
so ill try to do that ig
mods
oooooooo
if you are into fallout old world blues mod is peak
can anybody help me here
which ones (i alr played rt56 many times and cant run millenium dawn)
nah not really
do collapsing world
which is
?
what is collapsing world
idk, do one china
hmm ill try it ig
tahnks
np
tank hull isnt that relevant 🥀
how's japan to play?
my last game as USA sucked because they went to war so now I feel like playing them and making it happen lol
how do i fix this
pretty good
you can beat china in 1-2 years then have time to beat everyone else
okay every time i try open a specific division as japan, my game crashes...
tysm
huh
try #tech-support ig
if its only for that specific playthorugh it might be corrupted game
let me try turning off mods first
if its happening as any country try redownloading
no it was fine before playing as USA
probably reskins
will troubleshoot for a bit
sounds about right
Why do I only get ace pilots with figthers but not close air support ?
i got CAS ones as germany
sounds fun
I was wondering what's the go to path for a greece run?
dude japans starting divisions are nuts
Guys quick Q
I remember u used to get OP research boost if u spied on ppl who had worse industry tech than u
For example Germany stealing stuff from bhutan
Is this still a thing?
What are the requirements to get good tech boosts instead of garbage stuff with steal tech
Do u need specific traits?
ok the japan focus tree is really intimidating... which of the 20 paths is the "historic" one
Isn’t there a like a banner to show which one it is like Germany’s or?
how do you naval invade the uk as italy around 1940??
ah, i se it i think
thx for the help
axis yes
The only option o could think of is call Germany in
And somehow circle around the isles and hit maybe like Newcastle area
thx for the info
its mid
like most of their army is just 12w with no support companies
i just converted everything to the 24w division, expanded it a bit, then consolidated. was left with like 30 divisions. enough to battleplan china
with like, 50k casualties? total
Yeah, sounds about right
relative power
it doesnt matter if your army is bad if its 5x better than the opposing power
I'm starting to understand a bit more. My main struggle now is about quantity : like, of much divisions of tank, defense infrantry, and attack infantry, to I need to win a war, let's say against Yugoslavia as Italy for example
quality > quantity
this game isnt just more unit always wins
1 good unit can often times beat 4+ ai bad units
Okok
And how do you organize your batallions?
One batallion of full infantry, one focused on trucks,....
Or like every batallion has mixed divisions ?
batallions are the units in your divisions
Oh wait no
I meant the regroupement of divisions that can go up to 24 and led by a general
I forgot the name
An army?
That
no more than the limit
sorry im late
unless you dont care about trait stats / levelling up then its whatever
try follow a newbie guide and recreate the steps, those guides answer a lot of the questions that you have
this is going to be interesting, I cant find guides on Japan from the regular youtubers I've been using lol
just oging to figure it out, but anything I should be careful to absolutely NOT do?
do i need to worry abotu USSR boarder or can I just leave it? Supply sucks up there
my navy is docked in east indies right now but no matter what i do they wont acctually deploy to the area ive asked them to patrol why is this?
auto naval base
cog icon next to the naval base
what japan path are u going for?
as close to historical as possible
thanks 😅
although i might try invade earlier, i don't have the dates in my head as well as I do EU history
u dont have to worry about the ussr
i just dont feel like doing the 5 hrs of research I did before I played any of the other factions
theres a focus that gives u a peace treaty with them
nanshin-ron looks like

Im acoustic af
i dont remember its exact name
arent we all
i guess my main question is how much shoudl I balance the political vs the economy/military focuses
up to you
but go a little towards military
japan guides?
you have to be a decent player to be good at japan
do you think youtubers are at that skill level
I mean decent is an overstatement
im not tryign to be "good' at japan just giving them a go
As long as you know good air, navy, and military templates you'll be fine
playing once through each major power, except france bc screw them
killing china in 37 takes a bit of practice and thats like half of it
The focus tree is kinda easy to figure out
worst part about japan is taking the usa
yeah focus tree is easy
Just read through it all
it takes too long
focus tree is where I struggle the most, I have the templates down though
shows exactly what type of player the average is
It's just naval invasions tho right
dont have the patience to read through everything
You can preplan stuff
like omg why are people hyperfocused on killing the US
i wish they had some sort of peace deal if u take hawaii
thats the historical path man
IT ISNT
Which means they join ww2
they didnt wanna have a long drawn out war with the US
they wanted oil
from indonesia
oh yeah im going to try to avoid hitting US if I can
And inorder to end the war you need to kill the us
yea the game forces ur hand tho
thats how you play yes
you go south for indonesia, malaysia, india, australia
then into either middle east or africa
thats why they should have something like the phillipenes
and then invade uk and then US
interesting, they don't have a dude that increases political powerr
I did us then uk
You know what I learned.
I dont like playing Japan because it usually means I have to invade Siberia
sure that also works
Cuz i could invade us while moving over to the channel
Huh
just hold the border and go through azerbaijan
Why
Or i have to try and salvage the European axis
Also the siberia invasion isn't really difficult tbh
It isnt difficult
It's just long or lategame
I dont like it
its central asia that sucks
True
anyway japan is easy
someone got a basic recommendation for political advisors, early focus tree stuff (like the stuff to make sure to get yr 1, and things like that? Basic early game guide? I can figure i out from there
you only make mils
Yes
you flip your government before china cap and do your collabs
and then you annex china
and make plane
lot of plane
dont bother with civs at all?
you need MILS
Other countries make civs for you
you have constant war basically
If you rush the air research bonus focus before political unlocks you can get good air insanely early
You conquer other countries and get their civs
in the state below tokyo
flame tanks
Isn't there a focus for land facilities too
okay a lot of people sayign things...
so land factory, then JUST mils? no civs (i just take them from what i conquer?
I mean you can just not make them 🥶
Machiavellian's guide did that too I just wasnt sure
hey weird question my dpi in game suddenly got slower for some reason any idea what can cause this
you have ti di the project
Check your mouse
Wdym
tabbed out its normal dpi in game like 500
"Normal dpi"
Try resetting the game
well here goes nothing im just going to go for it with the mils play
Or switch display modes
tried that and display modes
Make sure to prep naval invasions
Before china war
And if you island hop for whatever reason, you can plan multiple invasions at once so you can go back to back
what date is china war? And where to attack? Shanhai?
Reinstall it
China war is when you want china war
oh
There's a specific china war focus path
You attack from the north and you do various naval invasions
i should make a japan guide so i can get roasted for being bad at video game
Make a japan multiplayer guide 🥶
i dont even play mp
i dont like people
theyre exhausting
That's why you gotta make your own mp group
ough
And kick people with sucky personalities
is it worth doing agency early or no?
You don't need
But
It's horribly annoying without them
Also cryptology is pretty useful
do i do the mongolian thing?
ugh, i think im going to press buttons and go for the ride
might be better to just ask what I SHOULDNT do and go from there
Uhh
i mean if you wanna lose out on 75% of your eco you dont need them
Yeah
no need to put focus time into it
oop, i guess not, I just wont do it
you don't need mils if you aren't fighting wars
its not horrendous
but its like
theres eco and stuff and you can annex them in china war
I've never seen cryptology be the make or break for these types of things
Not for sp
But it still saves time
you also did spend ic on the cryptology department
not really
always good to get early imo to decrypt more
but its preference ig
decrypt is good, but you do have to consider the ic
I would build decrypt if I start as a major with the industry unless you're usa
of 3 civs?
for like 30 days
you gotta get the upgrades anyway
not all nations have that amount of civs
but if you're a major it's good to do decryption
we're talking about japan
im restarting because i didnt get my setup right
is it worth starting with Minestry of commerce, of shoudl I go straight into "imperial defense plan
Imperial defense plan
Airforce
Get the research bonus
It gives +100% and -1 year
then go over to political
And auto unlockes engine 3 and hmg
Yes
just go down political or switch back and forth?
is it worth disbanding and selling my early airforce or no in this case?
Political i think
Sure
do I want to keep my cav in the beginning?
Casey, keep or get rid of cav in beginning?
also, general question, is there a way to grey out a factory/dock after one has been assigned? Like I move a ship to the bottom but I want to allocate that dock to something else
everything but tanks and hohei shidan you turn into the 12 width inf
they arent real units anyway
also turn 1 of the tanks (the untrained one) into inf too
so you have a stockpile
What
since this already has one, I cant "unassign" it, unless im missing something
i want to use that dock elsewhere, not in this right now
should I kill the converted cruiser then?
theres a way
put 5 on the cruiser and put it on the top and wait a bit
yeah i know
do what i said it does that
itll put the dockyard on the cruiser and keep the subs progress
did anyone tried to capitulate soviet union as germany before 1937?
as soon as you get pp
do I even bother keeping these tanks, I saw a guide saying to remove 1 just for the armor and then add more inf
its a bad idea
As Italy, should I form AOI or balkanize Ethiopia
why not both
Don’t you need to own and control the required land to form AOI
should I be paying attention to these?
nope
can be puppet
the impatient is the one you want early
the rest is like
theres nothing to be done
But then AOI just annexes
impatient?
cant build trucks because you need guns
so I should click on that one then?
hello, why do i have a production deficit of a lot of things but my stockpiles keep increasing?
if you deployed a bunch of division it could show as a negative
which is just a one-time thing
it reduces the time before you can do the focus
to go down your political tree
which focus?
actually yeah i forgoti set them toautomatically deploy to an army group, thanks a lot
the one under military minister attache system
if you play correctly
you need to do those focuses and go down to greater east asian co-prosperity sphere before you capitulate china
since it changes your government to fascist and reduces all your compliance by half
ah ok, i was going to hit china first before I went down there but sure
yes you start on the focus immediately after you declare war on china
oh crap, what happens if i dont get to it in time?
Check your factory output and construction speed nerfs due to lack of coal
weird, I suddenly cant trade...
i understand why myproduction would be low, but its that its saying ive got negative balance but im gaining stockpiles
must have missed a reading thing
i think topazand was right though
Maybe people really dislike you.
Or you have no civs left.
lose half your compliance?
collabs do that
its just ship steel
ah yeah
all good
I might have done too many focuses before going political, should I bother with "Establish the mongol military" or go straight for "reinforce the east?"
you gotta reinforce the garrisons so its 480 days earlier
So gentleman I capitulated Poland as Germany, what’s the next move should I hit up Czechoslovakia or xD
Hey is it better to produce 2 times 15 mill figthers ? Or is 30 mills together better ?
same production
What do you think Casey like what do you usually do when you play Germany
huh
If you are micromanaging your production lines, technically there's some advantage to e.g. "switch a 5-factory line from fighters to CAS vs. subtracting five factories from fighters to add five to CAS", but that kind of approach is not very easy for humans to manage.
usually when i play germany its to help someone play germany, or i get bored in like idk 1937/1938
or its a dumb challenge
i guess you like anschluss - vols to spain - czechs - war
you have some time in between vols to spain and war to get all your tanks out
and then after the fall of france you make an airforce for barb
then you barb, then you sealion
is the typical hist germany gameplay loop
Can anyone help I am in helping lounge VC with the Swiss declared war on me I feel like they had the final boss and I need help please send help
use CAS
they have crazy ground buffs
but no air or AA buffs
No I am literally losing ground they're getting ground from France and Italy for free
They gave it to them I need help
im looking
okay so
just pull back a bit
your units are starving lol
okay?
stop training/consolidate/delete some units
its not that bad
Thank you Casey another question do you like put up defensive units like mainly around your capital city or I guess that’s a dumb question sorry
sorry sound wasnt working
yeah your air sucks
have you tried letting switzerland walk in
and then encircle and kill them
while you have supply
and they dont
instead of the opposite
all their buffs are on core
you can easily win when theyre not in cores
the swiss buffs
yes so you let them fight in austria where they dont have cores
pretty sure they only have claims
its easier to encircle when theyre stretched thin and out of core
their units are all tiny and bad
i wouldnt worry too much
youll also be able to go up conscription law if youre partially occupied
why
go up from volunteer only
and down to war eco
well youre not gonna win bashing against them with no weapons or manpower
you might wanna go back further so their line extends, but for now this is fine
just get manpower and weapons
limited conscription does nothing
because its 2.5%
you have a -3% from eco law
so thats -0.5%
total mob is -3%
just only make mils
stop training new units lol
and just make your existing army better
well also youre still at 0% people recruitable
their units are similar to yours
very bad
no dont stress
its just both sides use like 6 width inf
higher hp takes less losses
you dont have the logistics rn
but typically yes
well if the enemy can paradrop yeah
he has mp issues
I only help with sp
Please help me
I can’t, im with others rn
Ok
@neat widget are you online to help this poor guy
Guys is there a mod where division/tank/plane designs don’t cost Xp?
Should I even try building ships against japan as communist china?
Oh wait what's going on here sorry I had issues to deal with
hes fighting switzerland vs austria in vc
Ah okay
Aeugh, it's mountains
They have to restructure your whole army
you're better off forming a mountaineer corps here
But at least you have air superiority
RIP Poland
Yeah since you puppeted one side of the civil war this happened unfortunately
Should automatic split off always be on for fleets ?
@vital plinth under some circumsantes, if you are on strike force and your navy isnt that much maybe but for patrol and raiding ofc no
But won’t they get sunk if they not repaired ?
Woule yoy rather have 4 perfectly undamaged tanks or 5 slightly damaged tanks and 2 really damaged ones?
If they still workx ofc
4 perfectly undamaged
Yeah but mate
Your enemies are alrezdy gonna have the numbers advantage
Are you an axis member by any chance?
Is it to me. ?
Yeah
Basically the question is
If your ships are damaged
Would you rather have more ships in battle
Even if theyre damaged
For maintaining of power
Or less ships
To repair
And have less ships in battle
You need more firepower
And youre gonna lose more ships in battle in the long run if you reject damaged ships
If you wanna repair then stop the missions and do so
Ok I see so when exactly is it best to have split off ? Is when not patrolling or doing something that can’t be interrupted?
Idk i need cassy to fact check this
Also after assigning planes to my Carrier do I need to do something to make the planes work or do they automatically do it ?
I dont have split off
Iirc they do on their own but can operate normally if you hold it
Hey y'all, my boss just put me on to this game, was wondering if anyone would be able to hop in a call and help me out? I'm having fun but have no clue what i'm doing 😂
I'm willing to pay for like an hour of your time, just dm me for details
What are some strong non-major countries to play? I just got done playing hungary
Try following a guide for a relatively easy to play country like italy
Is Italy easy to play? I started Germany because that’s what most mf said to do
I personally started with germany too but I've heard people here say italy is better. because if you play as germany, the entire outcome of the war hinges on your performance
Yeah i've been watching that notorious tutorial i'm sure we all have😂, ive done a few research stages and put down a few civilian/military factories just not sure where to go from here
if the german player sucks you're usually cooked
Yep if you make a mistake on italy germany can bail you out
yes
lore accurate anyway
Bro the Italians helping me invade Poland was a w
What country?
italy
lmao
Whose guide are you following?
and did you buy any dlcs
Derpy I’m going to buy DLCs but I heard spies were kinda hard to understand idk
that might just be a personal skill issue but i play without spies
it does make the ussr infinitely harder to capitulate though
so its your choice but id sugges tlike no step back or gtd as you first dlc
probably
Hmmmm thanks for the info, who do you play as mostly
I usually play as germany but ive been trying to expand
I'm now giving the minor coutnries a shot
since its nice to not be perpetually stressed once in a while
Oh god I’m scared to try the minor countries
if you're playing as say hungary the pressure on you to perform is a lot less than germany
I feel like the majors would just come stomp you though?
Nah
if you play well you can still go ahead and stomp the majors lol
64k deaths on my side to 1.2mil on the soviets
Oooooh that sounds intriguing!!!!!
yeah just dont overextend
since as hungary unless if you go desperate defense you cant tank as much mp losses as germany
I heard you want to use cavalry units with mp to suppress provinces like better is that true?
i usually just go one horse
its pretty good unless if youre doing a world conquent but id ask someone else about that case
just one horse no suppor tcomapnies
I love hungary, despite being a minor it can compete with majors easily
Hmmm….thank you for your help. I’m new as you can tell ❤️
Mp is more cost efficient but it required more mils on support equip than usual
One cavalry batallion is good enough
If you add mp, you need like 5+ iirc
For it to be worth it
I’m going to give them a try!! I’m just now getting decent with Germany tbh
So do you recommend like the one horse strategy like derpy mentioned
Idk I just capitulated Poland and I don’t want any uprisings xD
One horse is the easiest solution
You can do 25 cav + mil police but that requires 130 more XP
youll still get resistance in poland unelss if you go down on occupation law by a lot
poland doesnt like the germans
but it usually doesnt affect your game
They no likey the blitzkriegy
Thank you guys yall are real ones
Yuh
Also research mil police if you dont start with it
But i think ger does
Are empty carriers still the best naval supremacy option?
And does anyone have suggestions for good minors to play
There are better things to reaearch
How do I know if my mod is activated
If it's in the playset
my playset just says 'initial playset'
nevermind
i gotta add a playset lol
aight thanks
Are there any strong minor countries?
Is canada good
how should I deal with ethiopia
(I will be flipping monarchist)
imma take it all and form aoi
are the irregular divisions and blackshirt divisions useful for anything
or should I just dissolve them when I get the chance
Why do all 3 of these guys do the same thing
this weird thing forms when i try to form a frontline
and this happens when the frontline changes
i should do this tree before forming aoi right?
They're your political advisors iirc
If it's swiss
this event chain's puppets or aoi better(nonaligned)
they all have the same effect lol is there no diff between choosing any of hte 3
There is
The 3 options to pick are your advisors
If you pick one it takes away the advisor
You can do both
But aoi is fine
Oh yeah it does
You can rush ethiopia so the conference pops up
ah
Are you still at war
Then you can do aoi
yeah, but I have to directly own and control the land, dont i?
You need new emperor in ethiopia and one of the african infrastructure focuses
The one before the 4 develops iirc
can it be my subject that controls the land
The amahara rulers doesn't just give puppets
It can also give compliance and generals
ah
You can do that too i think
are the devs aware of the issues with map mods like fps map? its been completely broken since NCNS
Map mod issues are the mod makers problem
not according to the modders who made them
I don't mean it's their fault
But it's their problem to fix it
also, are the irregular divisions worth keeping around (as italy)
yeah idk the mod creator claims it cannot be fixed on his end due to some shader changes
They might patch it
Idk tho
The issues aren't major tho
is that a good ehh or a bad ehh
not imo
As in bad eh
You can keep them but like
You prolly shouldn't
i see
Mostly cuz you they take investment to be decent
And if you want to use them it takes manpower and equip
But also disbanding them doesn't refund anything
not game breaking, but the diplomacy map mode for example is completely blacked out other than the country you have selected, it just makes it annoying as hell
alr, disbanded
Ehh
I like the look
More than how it looks normally tbh
and what of these(divisione coloniale and blackshirts)
It highlights colored countries and that's all i need to see
They're mid but you can't disband blackshirts and the coloniale can be disbanded but none refunds
Can’t I do the “disband the blackshirts” focus
I never saw that 🥶
Wait
Aren't you non-aligned?
Blackshirts are like fascist troops basically, so ofc you'd disband them in the path
There is a choice to do the “Utilize the Blackshirts” focus instead
I take all of austria right
(for the achievement
or is it better to puppet and annex later
How should I organize my air wings ? I have alot now it’s hard to organize and clinging on them all
Hard to manage them how do you use the air groups ?
im still kinda new and only play SP so far, so I doubt this is the "best way" but I tend to make a theatre for training, carrier, home def, and "operations" (basically what i'm doing now), then in operations I group them in groups of 300-400 (cause I always run into small air strips) and then just move them around..... Until I get too lazy and just assign them to my armies
Any guide for this warlord my mouse it pointing?
for japan, I think I timed it wrong, after IU get revisit the twenty one demands I have exactly 70 days before the Tensions between Military factions runs out... I don't have time to get both "establish mongol mil gov" and "reinforce East Hebei"....
does it matter if I go over the counter, or shoudl I mulligan and restart?
@glacial steeple
Hey are you online or @neat widget ?
Wanted to ask is there any debuff if I use naval bomber carrier from land ? Or are they only working right from carrier ?
wouldn't they just expensive normal naval bombers
Only work from carrier I think
hi
Yeah I'm pretty sure that's the case
there's no debuff, but you don't have the buff either since that comes from using them on carriers. and yeah you can use carrier naval bombers from land too
@glacial steeple you seem to know a bunch about japan lol
What's the optimal strat to defeat the British Navy and Airforce as Germany?
- Should I keep the focus on submarines or switch to capital ships?
- What doctrines/subdoctrines are best?
- Do deathstacks still work with the new naval rework?
(Please ping if replying)
Ah ok cool I had a bit of surplus
Any suggestions how to manage or organize my planes ? I’ve gotten too big and have too many not sure how people organize them
- if you want to defeat their navy just build a big surface navy and deathstack it in the channel with green air and you'll probably win. make sure to refit and use good designs and all that
- i have no idea
- yeah
Air solves all problems.
Have refineries so you can have a rubber supply during wartime.
Navy shouldn't be a problem due to how brain dead the ai is currently at contesting players.
Group the surface fleet and patrol in the channel. Have fighters and cas provide support.
When doing sea lion, provide a lot of cas to help the landing
Should you assign planes to Army or is that bad ?
air solves all problems except oil, but you should have enough oil to defeat the UK
Also what to use heavry figthers for ? I I have a bounch but not sure where to use them best ?
Idk intercepting?
What are some good non-major countries
That's a grand doctrine tab
gives army wide buffs
there are sub doctrines for infantry artillery armor and operations
some doctrines are better than others
Oh ok
huh
im playing peru rn
huh
what
when you need a lot of range on your fighters or if you have a really big bonus for them
asia maybe
but really you don't need them
like ever
Finally step 1 done
- Do i need to make light tanks to use armored recon
- Does the stats of the light tank affect the effectiveness of the armored recon unit if I need to make them?
no
oceania gameplay its also bad because theres like no one there but it is the only place where you might need that much range
YO CASE
The man
Why do you recommend Quami, i can't seem to make it work with the Milita
1: yes
2: yes
the stats of the light tanks increase breakthrough
that's the main benefit of making them
they arent
theyre irregulars
its a different unit type
quami is irregular but iirc civil war gives you militias
Hmm gotcha
also quami is kinda bad now but you still can whitepeace over pakistani cores
and then do the union
Dang, do you have a light tank template then?>
no
but like
just get a lot of breakthrough and keep the cost cheap
aight
Should I change the infantry division template if I am using Large Unit Tactics with the decrease combat width of infantry
Alright thanks! Any air doctrine I should pursue in particular?
TIL there are useful hotkeys, like a "find" button
35.2w
are bycicles even worth it? lol
How do i increase special forces cap by a lot
how early is too early to invade the soviet union?
You can always invade ussr
USSR's ai is the most stupid ai in the game
And if you want to reduce lag. It's always recommended to invade ussr and usa early
It is?
Yes
guys what is the meta for tanks in mp
It doesn't research post 1939 rifle tech
What's a good mill to civs ratio ?
how many modern and mbt tanks should i produce and build
Uhh i have 27 mills to 62 civs, might have to start building mills
Whoa 32 to 80 now
how many civs and mills should i build
alr
i do like building enough of both to get lend lease licenses and buy purchase stuff from international market
i do have a mod that adds more building slots
@sweet summit
0 because modern tanks are meme tier in hoi4
alr
And like I literally just said here to build mils 3 years before the war
VRROOM
Reading is a good habit
I've been fighting wars since i was born chat
Civil war, Iran war, Soviet War, Hind War,
Finally peace for sometime
What's LARP ?
NAVY ??
in SP i can do WHATEVER
YUCK
