Its better than the one I referenced
ah aight
i dont have 3 of the 5 support companies
any suggestions on replacements?
arty, regular engis
i assume you dont have ranger recon either then?
what is an IC
only the defaults
dont have ranger
ok
industrial capacity
replace with LT recon
it gives break
just copy supports of the no projects
ok
that means ihave to make light tankss right
Yuh
can i afford to run this only or do i still need some worse holding divs
i dont have a lot of mp to spare
you have a holder template above
go up on conscription law
desperate defense subdoctrine too
what ratio do i produce the holders and the good div?
Always army offense
ok
Although you want to train your own eventually
so which of these is the best option for the major I should suck up to
context #1
no dlc cant change template
context #2
Ok
No
@glacial steeple probably does tho
are the british that weak without their dominions
(also im nonaligned so ideology isnt that important)
(also also the british are fascist)
aight
Yeah
Unless you are planning for a lot of forced expansion don't join the british
I plan to take the baltic coast and Lithuania+Estonia, puppet Karelia and the Sami in Murmansk, and maybe more
also the czech entente borders Russia in Galicia
Is this good (late game)
no controversial/political figures please #server-rules
what if I am planning to annex the baltic sea coast, puppet Karelia and the Sami in Murmansk at the least
Why not mission type tactics if ill be running a lot of special forces? is it for the mp?
@glacial steeple wtf is up with people and 30w
Yes it is for manpower
idk looks natural ig
I'd also swap this ranger recon wiht armored recon right since i dont have rangers
do you have any experience with australia's focus tree?
Uhh if you have the ic for it then yeah
im playing aus
i probably dont have the ic
my industry is cooked
do i use normal recon then?
I would recommend putting an extra infantry in there
To make it 18w
aaight
No recon then
i mostly play new zealand if im there but a bit
Yeah
is the play just to build industry until japan declares
The play is to build civs til 38
As iirc japan declares in 42
the play is to have an army ready by war
and probably play ahist because historical gameplay isnt that fun for oceania imo
ah aight
oh
uh
but up to you
ok
yeah or really really late 41
i can go concentrated industry as aus right
since i wont really be getting bombed that much
conc is always good
😭
Those who are literally Dankus as finland
i thought as like germany you were meant to go dispersed
or something
what army focus should i startw ith as aus
im doen with all the industry ones that i can do until world tension goes up
or should i do this before army
nvm the milita training tree looks nice
do industry and air tree
those are good
air gives you engine 3 on researching basic medium airframe
oh ok
then just research improved/advanced medium and youll have decent long range planes though they trade worse in terms of factory output itll be fine against ai
i wont get that would I
since i dont have dlc for editing plane templates
ah then ignore the air tree
I want to set up a puppet Karelia and Sami state at least, which may be hampered by the Czech Entente being a democratic faction. Also, the Czech entente borders Russia through Romania. Would this help me or hurt me more?
What army doctrines? im going desperate defense for operations
but should i be using mission type tactics instead?
im not sure
no
look at the stats
its not even useful to you
ah fair
what about for the other 3 trees?
why is the sapanish civil war starting in 1938 wth
this is historical ai
Is assault infantry good
is there a way to raise facism to 30% for US beside the advisor?
i have no idea what to go for artillery and support though
i usually do field engineering, good boosts to engineer company, and almost everything will have an engineer company, but it really depends on your playstyle and planned fronts.
its the US default, ive never changed it
interwar or 1934 heavies for converting into heavy tds later on?
large unit tactics looks appealing aswell
iirc its mp meta too
is it worth switching the free doctrine in SP?
What do you mean by "forced expansion"
im playing aus i wont be fielding many divs
no mp
how do i get rid of great depresssion debuf as aus
oh nvm found it
aw hell naw its so far down
1934 heavies are typically used, but you can just use interwar if you wish
im using a 35 day focus mod for the usa lol
no depression, mid 37
but im also trying to do the global hegemony tree without imciting a civil war in non historical sp
doesnt look like it
aw man allat infra for nothing
bummer
whats the best fighter doctrine
probably airspace dominance, but i wouldnt worry about replacing what you have until you have doctrines for other equipment like tac bombers if you have them, if you only have fighters is the only way id do that first though
i had no default doctrine
ah aight
oh dang
airspace dominance but medium range escort is better if you have larger air zones
oh ok
but I myself have little idea on these air doctrines
im literally just alt tabbing to look at them myself because i dont know either
wym by "forced expansion"
Also what happend to german ai?
In the games ive played
they cant even push past minsk
like the soviet ai never comes even close to capping
even without an allied d-day
idk, mine has been on fire lately, last game japan and german split what was left of the soviets after they splintered into the russian federation
oh dang
r56?
my german ai regularly goes well past stalingrad, no vanilla
but how does ussr split into russian federation in vanilla
turn off historical focus's
do you mean after the russian civil war where the constituent states break off?
but how did the provisional russian govt flip democratic
yeah, after the civil war, the civil war happened like as the japanese shogonate and germany invaded them i think
ah
it was hilarious timing
so how did you end up with a democratic russia?
(before you ended up with no russia at all)
you mentioned a russian federation
because the civil war started after the axis decleration, it was a seperate state, idk why they didnt go after other russia too
i want to say this is it, but i cant read the bright red, it also might be a different country from another playthrough, isk
Damm 1,5 half year to build capital ship damm il first finish in 1943
high infra states might build factories slightly faster but im not sure
how do I get women in the workforce
Whats the quickest way to lower autonomy in a subject?
to offset the -3.00% recruitable population
lendlease
how do I get women in the workforce
?? Sending? Or Receiving?
recommended to send them a bunch of convoys
if you have them, of course
I Assume that more expensive things affect Autonomy more than cheap things?
I grabbed some Armored Cars to send and they're almost worthless
I mean yeah sure
Yes
Old things bad for autonomy
oh i didnt know this?
Up to date stuff good
but arent convoys optimal?
Convoys most optimal
I have none to send, lol
Because they cost dockyard output i assume
I don’t understand when to puppet when you annex I’m facist Greece just got Soviet Union a guide said to do coropetive goverment but I’m not getting enough factories or ressouces it’s not much ?
Collab governments?
Collab governments are alright
But 100% compliance is better
I just build forts everywhere
the ones after pc are optional, depends on what you really want. Tankograd is nice cuz if you follow its instructions you get 10 free mils. You also only need one of the soviet artillery, pc of mortar, or tankograd to unlock mio merging focus
what should i do from here?
36 width marines
Slap some more support companies. Field hospitals, support arty, engineers, support aa, and one of your choice
dont have those researched yet, but kinda like this?
Should I annex Soviet ?
I had built 1 time collab goverment and get 30% from puppet or should I go for annex instead?
You wont be able to garrison that as latvia
Or is it someone else playing latvia
Im Byzantine
Oh, do what you want
Is it nsb
I have Italia Turkey Greece bulges Romania as core
I just won over Soviet idk if to puppet or annex a guide said to build collab goverment so I have 30% but
Idk is annex better ?
Hows this for a design?
Not a bad design, but for Germany use Henschel for design
Alright
@neat widget Can you help me with something?
Yeah?
Thank you
It can also be an spg btw
Does anyone have a guide to playing the soviet union
is the focus tree locked behind a dlc
?
Im playing Byzantine have lot of lands with Italy , Turkey Greece and Bulgaria and yokoslavia and Romania. I just won over Soviet I had prepared a collab goverment a guide mentioned but I only made one so I have 30% compliance if puppet
Should I puppet or keep as annex ?
I’m I’m in 1942
I don’t know what’s better
Whats a good flame tank design?
Make alot of troops is the main goal behind the Soviets so you can stop the German advance
Theres also a line you should station your troops behind so they get good defence buffs
Ah aight
puppet is fine, you can annex later and still get compliance
annex when you're ready
Not annex now ?
Won’t I have to start from 1% if I annex later ?
In compliance
No, you'd get 30%
But you should fight the Finnish in 1939, around November, and puppet them, dont call them into the German war because then the Germans can invade through Norway
You can totally annex them now if that's your wish btw
Do you have all the Soviet Union btw
Most of it 30% is to Germany but I have most of it
Idk what is best first game so trying to learn 🙂
Ah aight
Il annex later then if I get 30% it’s faster no ? Then annex now and build up compliance?
How do I puppet a nation
Ive made that mistake before and its not fun, make cheep infantry units after the finnish war, and also always have alot of factories on guns. Dont make a airforce, as the Soviets its complicated if youre new, just make towed AA
After a war you get a peace deal if all major nations of that alliance you are at war with have capitulated, you then get to decide whether you annex or puppet them. Also when puppeting a country, make sure to take their resource rights and war reperations
oh aight
how is the soviet airforce any different from like germany?
The soviet airforce, and army has alot of debuffs at the start, you typically get rid of them by doing focuses in your focus tree, considering youre new though, id only focus on the industrial, diplomatic, and ground army focuses
i heard that if playing as the soviets you need to rush through the purge focus tree
how do I do that without deleting all my generals
You kinda just have to hope
are you going to war with germany? because you can feed the lands to a soviet puppet and still get 30% collaboration on there if you annex them
but yeah i'd say it depends on your manpower levels
dang 😭
You also have some times to wait on certain focuses, when waiting for those to unlock, you can do your other focuses
ok
Id say to do your industrial one as a main important one
so prioritise finishing hte purge?
Yes, focus on finishing your purge tree first
Also id say as a little tip, build civs till late 1937, to early 1938, then only mils
ok
I have 2mio man power without Soviet
Not yet maybe later
Any other questions?
Yeah then you can annex then right now
You think puppet them now for cheap trade and get my boost in free trade so I can resseach faster and catch up to the other big powers ?
should I just make a bunhca trash holding divs like this but with no recon and spam tanks? or should i make good pushing divs too
these hold very well but like they cant push at all
focus on making trash holding divs for now, after you have a decent amount of those and your lines look sturdy, you can focus on making better pushing divs
Maybe make some med tanks
Is this a good flame tank design?
What's teh best medium tank and flame tank templates
No it's horrible
Flame tanks give zero stats, they only give a fixed terrain buff so the ideal flame tank is the cheapest flame tank
can i not get rid of these??
Does anyone know if you can use recon planes for putting your navy on strike force?
I’d just put them on cities or anywhere that needs to be guarded
does anyone have a template for medium tanks
how does a spy network and intelligence agency work
ive just been ignoring them pretty much in my past playthroughs
what are the best soviet army spirits
Anyone know how you complete the secret ahievement?
grand battleplan?
why is only one task force in the region and why does it say it's inaccessible for the rest
the base port is in Wilhelmshaven
change it to something closer
how do i change it?
What are these tanks? SPGs?
top left
use these they are also in the pin
are these better?
and i cant find a design for medium tanks in the pins
maybe im just blind
what MIO traits are the best
they are under army templates
here for more easier access
i don't have that dlc so you are out of luck from me
from my knowledge grab shit that is meta like breakthrough, cheaper, light attack and range for planes
ah
aight
ive heard that its like better to make a bunch of empty chasis
then convert them?
thank you
yeah thank you to whoever told me to avoid the soviet airforce as a new player
if you are playing like you will die instantly. It's the best way but you do not even need to be that close of meta
oh ok
were you not told to make good pushing divisions?
you can have two seperate division templates
just don't chnage your template every year or your production will fail
the entire army does not need to be one template
Is 30 combat width good for tank ?
oh nono i was just asking if i actually needed pushing divs
apparently 36w is meta
ok
8/10s are good
10/8s are good
9/9s are good
?
any combination that adds up to 36w is good of tanks and mech
is this a good defensive template? im planning on just throwing out hudnreds of these to stop the germans
in my opinion remove engineers
too costly
why am i not getting civs for exports?
it depends
are you going to be pushing into the germans or holding a fallback line?
probbaly holding for the first year or something?
is this single player
i dont knwo where to hold though
in this case having engineers is good
as it builds entrenchment
Yeah
at what point do i stop purging and start working on infrastructure
you want to remove stalins political thingamajig as fast as possible
then go further into the five year plan
aight
ok
Where do I check how much manpower I need to fulfill?
@neat widget where
im loading hoi4 to give a screenshot
thanks
The rivers from riga to stalino
With Smolensk and Kiev added in
Anyone down to help me learn the game I have 1hour played and am having problems learning more
so do i still sack some major cities like minsk
aight, thanks
although extend the fallback line through Dnipropetrovsk and also hold kiev
oh ok
also hold the supply hub in the tile to the right of Bobruysk
aw man these purges hurt
so you should try to first repeal germany from that line, then to try repeal germany from the molotov borders, and then to be so strong with your ic that hitler won't even dec on you and you have to dec on hungary to start ww2
lol what
go mass mob for soviets
ok
no
you can send ultimatums to the baltics
wtf
what subdoctrines
like but do i hold them
mass assault sucks now
wrong
do not pick that focus
you lose all of lithuania
No, its the best doctrine for the soviets? Atleast in my past playthroughs its given me the best value
manually dec on them once you get the claims
you get the claims when you sign molotov
ultimatums waste you a 70 day focus and 225 pp
Youre going to be mobolising alot of men as the Soviets so you should just go for the one which correlates with the benefits for that
it gives an officer corps spirit that gives 10% health
while decing on them manually costs around 30 pp in total
man these purges REALLY hurt
are you serious? ma is a meme doctrine since ncns doctrine remake since day 1
Whats TDS ?
GrandBattle Plan or Superior Firepower as soviets is best
immediately ppl figured out that gbp and sf are the better two and mw and ma are jokes
Tank Destroyers
true
that's why you have the decisions to reduce paranoia
ok
thats fine
yes but the focus great purges hurt too
no they don't, they reduce paranoia
don't do the ones on the left and central side of stalin's path
only do the right side which is the actual purge
left and central are useless focuses
Yes they're not worth it when other focuses give you more relevant buffs
Also one of those left side focuses give you -5 stab and -5 WS which is like wtf
but this happened after i did the focus
how good is invading netherlands in 1936
yeah what do you think a purge is
you purge people
it's nice, it gives you indonesia and curacao which gives you oil and rubber
no
you know, you can search for these in game
you get rid of cowed by stalin
oh
ahh what
i thought you could only search using hte names of the focuses
oops
I saw someoen say something about puppeting indo is it better to annex it or puppet?
what do i do after doing the purge path?
Anyone know?
do i go PCDI or five year plan
you can puppet if you want exploit their manpower
just follow a beginners guide to ussr
what do you think is better overall
aight
puppeting if you need a lot of manpower
puppetting could be good since it may make it a bit easier to defend it
probably 3rd five year plan it gives nice bonuses
alright
after that i usually did millitary focuses like tankograd
it worked out really well for me
typically when people do an early netherlands invasion is there anything else or do they just play it normally
is this a good inf pushing template
where do I unlock flame tanks btw
do i have to research it
do line art
do i replace the far right inf with line art?
also is the best flame tank template just a falmethrower
with like the crappiest of everything else
which path is better
That's why you should watch a guide because it will tell you which
left
ok
Foreign experts give better production stats
While national specialists i believe somewhat improve your mios
could I just attack beligum and france in 1937 before the UK allies them (and annex em?)
Or you wing it
Nothing is stopping you
Except your skill and the resources available
when does uk ally france
38?
and pick the american decisions once you finish that focus
well I took netherlands early soo
Early 38 or late 37
if anyone tells you to take national experts then they're trolling
I honestly never see the need to do this
you think I could do well invading them
first time I tried this strat
Especially in the past when it would kill your MEFO bills
It is a good stat
Just note that you might get cut off from your rubber anyways
thats what I was thinking of
I did make it into a puppet
how do I get the resource rights
Also japan will invade you
Do you have By Blood Alone
I dont have any dlcs
Then no resource rights for you
Trade 1 civ for 80 resources
Note the UK will likely do a naval embargo and prevent your resources from reaching you
oop..
another reason for you to watch guides
yes im watching through uh
they're not optimal but they teach newbies the basics without high chance of error
while setting Reiches. is it better to use a German official or a collaborator?
Personally, I dont notice any differences
I always do German official
no
dont push with inf use tanks for that
Could anyone help teach the game to me
oh
ok
but people were telling me to make inf pushing templates
Chat
If i attack Iran as Afghanistan, they call in the allies 🥀
What do i do
wait i need to do a special project for flame tanks?
it's better not to click this
you need to build a land facility
wdym i have too
the tempalte is fine exceptthat you need to add some anti air
don't create reichkoms
why?
they are useless other than taking factory away from you
i dont wanna garrison half the world
then throw away the land
or you could have peace dealed it
if you own half of the world
rk is very very different from a normal puppet
hello should i use all Special projects and all normal techs and equipments
What are the two modules in the top right?
in clearer terms, Reichskommisariats are worse than useless, they are actively detrimental. Normal integrated puppets or collab governments are far superior
is it radio
it looks a bit diff from what i have as radio though
radio(which you don't need)
and easy maintenance
easy maintenance is very good, you get it from researching maintenance 2
or even just harsh quotaing the land
radio and easy maintenance, also convert this to a spg and remove the engine and armor upgrades
ah aight i was wondering why i couldnt find it lol
oh ok
i was following this channel's pinned guide for best medium tank
is it outdated now
the only special project that is absolutely necessary are radars and flame tanks
it's just pre-ncns
post-ncns you should build spgs for sp and tds for mp because they're better than regular tanks now
wtf
you always want to make it spg
also radio 3 and 14 engine is pretty much a waste
but it doesn't matter much
if you push with big fat infantry divs you will attrition massively
as long as you have howitzer 2 and spg role
should i add a new SP called Fleet carrier?
oh
not true btw
yes
at least it's better than artillery at pushing
do you have a spg template that i can use?
the pinned one is medium tank
in the eastern front you will its just better to have cheap defensive infantry
you wont even lose much stats anyays
wait till we can design rifles and inf becomes better at attacking than armor as we invent 50 piercing 50 breakthrough guns
I capitulated the raj and it keeps un capitulating does anyone know why?
does doing this still buff armored recon units
yeah but why would you research it
it 'buffs' them by increasing their recon stat
the useless stat
don't research that garbage
Ah aight
which support companie are worth researching?
Also does anyone have a flame tank template
i feel likei answered this to you already
oh
but for support companies maybe logistics?
not engineer?
field hospital and signal are also okay but you're locked with 5 and you usually start with engineer researched already
so usually you already have engineer support art and support aa if you don't build spaa
but like engineer + flame tank + support aa means you don't have a lot of slots to begin with
and ranger is also a really good support company so you really don't have much slots to fill usually
Is this what i would use for flame tank template
i heard that i have to make it cheap right
or something
yeah the cheapest as possible
ok
and you forgot to turn it into flame tank
tbh you can just use inter war chassis if you really want cheap
oh yeah mb
is that the best? stats dont matter on flame tanks right
same
yeah
aight
then you can improve by adding heavy machine guns and easy maintenance
do full armor click and fill it with extra ammunition
so you get breakthrough from it
i thought the tanks personal stats didnt matter though?
yes
are you trolling? getting breakthrough from flame tanks?
have you clicked on what negative buffs flame tanks get in stats?
you can have 20 armor and the breakthrough is like 10
what final support company do i add
did you change it to spgs?
assault engineers maybe
these are still tanks
ah wait not yet
first of all, do you have any divisions running already
where do i unlock asault engineers
should i make a Template full of RANGERS?
ok
for th armored recon company
i need light tanks right
does that mean i should just make cheap light tanks for the armored recon?
you really don't need recon
experimental tech for armoured support provides assualt engineers
recon is a hobby project unless we're talking about ranger recon
ah aight
also you don't have aa so you might want aa
is assualt engineers
you should still prioritize flame tanks before mil engineering vehicles
regular engineers are perfectly fine
yes sir
the problem isn't to find the perfect division
better for defence
if you're doing that you should just wait until 1945 and research everything to its perfect form
lol fair
yep just an option
the problem is you need to build the most high quality divisions by 1939/1941/whenever you are beginning the war
so you need to set priorities
and the cheapest reaserch/production
assault, field engineering and spearhead right?
depends on tank type
which is why this is my spg, i can build 120 of 36 width divisions with these cheap armor and these divisions have 900 soft attack and 360 breakthrough which is enough for sp
medium tanks currently
it might be too late to convert to spg? im not sure
its june 1940
that's why you need to start as spgs
ah yeah
but it's not too late esp if you're not using these divisions as your main division
then yeah probs spearhead
aight
I'm using them as my main tank divs
I only have one tank div template
are we meant to have multiple
yeah but are you building 120 of them?
not 120
is assault assault infantry
yes
i mean like
spg template
what to put on it
just follow this
like this whole time we've been telling you to replace tanks with spgs so you should know what the template should be like
nono i meant like
what gun to use on the spg
that type of template
well you use the guns that allow you to turn your tank to an spg
and everything else stays the same? like modules and stuff
yeah
aight thanks
it's more efficient than getting breakthrough on your tank
i mean you don't need most modules, heavy machine guns and easy maintenance are really all you need
you want to do individual excellence, self propelled support, mobile defense, and graqnd assault
2 and 3 are best for tanks clearly
and 1 and 4 are the best in general
especially grand assault
for armor subdoctrine pick the one that gives most soft attack or hard attack/piercing to spgs and tds given what armor variant you are using
pdx now shows all buffs when you hover over a subdoctrine which is a rare ui win for pdx
oh dang
how do i change my tanks into spgs
just try clicking things in the tank designer. you can't miss it
is it unlocked by default or is it a separate research?
there's a certain dropdown menu that lets you turn a tank into an artillery which makes it a spg
i mean the game is literally telling you to switch the gun to something that is artillery compatible
Somebody messed with the timeeline, why is Italy better than Germany
these are all the turrets
did i say gun or turret?
uh
you're quoting me which says switch guns and you are showing me the turret
ahh alright thanks
sorry
i thought turret was the gun
I dunno what a turret is
It's probably the three man thing a majog
anyway for flame tanks: if you switch to flame tanks you get -60% breakthrough so why are you even maxxing out breakthrough? esp when breakthrough is a useless stat once you reach a certain threshold
turret is the room where the crew sits in
ah aight
whats a good base template for Italian nation to use? I tried doing a small tank division method, while it did succeed a fair amount, I was stuck in a stalemate in Africa.
if you just want to fill the lines, 18 width inf is good enough
and all tank divisions should be big divisions, usually the best width is 35 but in reality 36 is easier to achieve
whys it say this when i have ships in the region
whats the best way to prepare to defend the german east indies (indo puppeted)
are you patrolling? if you are, then sorry, navy is bugged right now and you might need to cancel patrol mission and restart it to make it work
Hey guys...does anyone know how else I could improve this besides not attacking river?
because it also only uses 30% of the equipment
so you can just ignore breakthrough on your spg
it's optional ofc
4309???? through a river??
but just more efficient this way to have it on the support tanks
?
I am using radios 3's and howitzer 2's on mid spgs
Is it good?
radios are useless
isnt that really good
you don't need that much breakthrough
Idk
Idek what the defence and breakthrough stats do but I see them on yt so I put them on
are you just looking for a screenshot with max stats
well you should check what they do then
I am just trying to get to 5k soft
Idek if it's possible so I came to ask if it is
In vanilla with all the dlcs
Ty
Will give it a read in a bit ❤️
defense/breakthrough counters soft/hard attack so any defense/breakthrough over enemy's soft/hard attack is useless
So spgs are not even that bad?
Ong
Omg I just realised
who told you they're bad?
spgs and tds are meta now
they've been meta since day 1 of ncns
actually we knew this since the dev diaries
If I want pure stats I can put the support artillery things
Do i need normal tanks alongside those
A friend of mine who got me into the game
ncns?
what's the name of the new dlc?
you can but they're not meta
no compromise no surrender
Ohhhh
whats the best way to prepare to defend the german east indies (indo puppeted)
again, why do you need that much breakthrough? you're wasting ic and xp
If it decides it wants to work at some point, I will read the post 😄
well you need to garrison them and send your navy there to defeat japan assuming it's japan invading
just scroll upwards, i just said what defense/breakthrough does
defense is for when you're on the defense in battle and breakthrough is for when you're attacking
you don't
but it's literally free
flame tank design is also free of xp
???
it costs ic
it's ic better spent than getting breakthrough on your tank
so you can just ditch the radio
it's the most efficient way to have breakthrough simply put
unless you have 400 factories, it's much better to just build cas instead if you want free attack
not entirely how it works
that makes no sense
i agree that on a tank it matters very little
but it's basically free
ah yes because when I research flame tanks in 1939 i have max armor researched
yes, but we're explaining to people who don't even know how to convert tanks to spgs or tds
? just use whatever you have
still saying flame tanks are waste of ic and u don’t need the break is just wrong
extra ammunition is literally free also
hmmm I love missing stats for no reason
free of xp, free of cost
flame tanks are not waste of ic
Oki dokie thank you kind sir
they're very valuable but you don't need stats for them esp when you're low on other things
and the worst thing is putting fuel tank on the flame tank as per some youtubers😂
empty flame is not bad
it's just missing a little bit of free stats
but on the other hand, if you use the flame in an infantry, you would be missing tons of stats if you leave it empty
the new doctrine also works perfectly with them
oh i mean if you have 20 factories to spare then you can try it
but i don't really build inf
if you make 5 ic flame tank 1 factory would be enough
or maybe 2 if you design it a bit
but again it's the most ic efficient way of having breakthrough, so if you ever need it
if you're having 200 divisions then you need some factories for flame tanks
if those are infantry then flame tank give you valuable stat you won't get otherwise
so it's a reasonable investment
but should you really use inf for attack?
Btw are medium/large fighters worth it?
upper left, then click that little icon next to the x (not the x itself) (this screen also contains special forces cap information)
no
you can build motherships if you want to meme but it's not meta
yes
in sp almost anything can do with all the powercreep
and it's a lot more efficient than most alternatives
Sounds fun...what is that though?
if you don't know how to get it then you don't need it
Assuming like a plane version of an aircraft carrier?
stick to regular fighters
but yes motherships were a soviet experiment that was never materialized
While we're here take a look at the navy and air screens (navy is also where you find your naval invasion cap)
Oooo sounds interesting though
@queen agate take a look at this post
Awww 🙁
the only advantage of motherships is +5 range motherships pretty much cover 3/4s of the world and you really only need 500 of them so you don't need to worry about airports
but if you actually need to trade against enemy fighters you'll need real fighters
Yeah pretty much
also you'll need a lot of rubber and aluminum for motherships, it's 8 alum 3 rubber for every factory
like this is a design that requires basically zero research(outside of the tank itself) and nearly doubles the breakthrough on a 18 width
cost is like 1.5 battalion of inf
yeah but unless you're using inf to attack, you don't get these benefits
obv this depends on playstyle but usually if you can use special forces/armor to attack, you wouldn't use inf to attack
why are my units stats so cooked
i know that theres like
a terrain debuff and supply debuff
but it shouldnt go that low right
or is this expected
well you can hover over the stats to see why ou have the debuff
but generally speaking it seems like you're down in fuel and are underequipped
First thing's first, click a division to view its actual stats (it might not be fully equipped so you get no stats)
ah
here are the stats
im using this template
Btw is it just me or whenever a commander gets a trait the other traits are getting learned slower?
no no no
in the battle screen, hover over the three stat
so hover over the 71, 19, 20, 49, 19, 14
oh
Then you hover and see what combat modifiers are affecting things
Assuming it meant over the soft attack
yeah
it tells you why: you are attacking and defending at the same time (in multiple combat), your units are green, and you have low supply
if you have combat width issues you need to let units from another tile attack too
oh aight
Oh by the way don't forget to hover over those icons
that's why before war you want to train your troops so they're at least lvl 2 and preferrably lvl 3
Like the AA symbol gives some nice information you won't get anywhere else
ah aight
Yeah, there's a trick though since you'd lose a lot of tank equipment by just naively training them
Basically don't give the division equipment when you train them
i just train big inf divisions and replace them with tanks
oh what
wdym
this is an advanced trick, you need to learn how to assign equipment in division template
ah nvm then
i mean tbh it's not that hard, you just go into your division template and uncheck equipment
You convert like a 1/0 tank to your normal (in this case 10/8) and like here turn off the quipment as you see here
ah i see
when you train you lose 5% due to attrition but 5% of 0 is 0
oh
eh, they changed the rounding so that you may lose 1 or 2 equipment of the thing you actually have in the division
So since a 1/0 light tank has 60 tanks, you can start losing light tanks
just be like me and train big inf divisions
who cares if you lose 50 guns every day
I mean 50 guns every day per division is scary
don't train them in jan mayen
ok you need to do that correctly
the easier method is just train big infantry divisions
yeah
and then directly edit the infantry template to your tank template
guys help please
I have had enough
Not a single ship of mine wants to move in this area
you need to click this or ctrl + right click on greenland
so your fleets' home base is set there
the range on the fleet extends from its home base
right now it's based on wilhemshaven
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Interesting
I thought they will directly use the closest ports to start the task
you might want to follow the dev diaries since pdx is saying they will fix a lot of the bugs with the new navy system (whether they can fix it is another issue)
the button sets them on automatic
y:
tysm guys, my marines are cooking hard ❤️
Hey if i was going to go into artillery really heavily should i go with gb or sp
i am an old returning player, back from the 7/2 days and i have no idea which doctrines are meta
Superior Firepower
line artillery have been jokes ever since nsb
use spg or tds if you want artillery guns in your divisions
the best doctrine is gbp and the second best is sf, mw has always been a joke and ma has fallen off since the latest dlc
Also true
I am playing as bulgaria, I wanted to use artillery because theye get DVF. is there another strategy i should shoot for instead?
use spgs instead of line artillery
or just inf since inf have better stats than artillery
bulgaria is a sleeper favorite in my experience, so many potential crosspaths and internal politics and international politics. its really cool
Lol mountaineers mgiht be the play
no, regular inf have better stats than artillery
esp after 1939
you don't need special forces to outperform artillery
but if you remember how space marines work, just insert a medium spg into your inf division (light spg if you lack the ic)
Makes sense
what do i do
should i buy any and all future dlcs and expansions
not if you are wise. i am not wise
wdym
Its probably a waste of money but i will waste my money despite my better impulses
we can't really judge future exansions before they are out really
OH alr
any games that have dlcs and expansions whether free or paid ill always get
@fathom grove
hey guys, how to know who's faction leader?
because I finished UK, USA, Canada, Mixeco and they still fighting
my war isn't over yet 😭
I can't believe this, chile inf is defending so hard against my tanks
what do your tanks look like and where are they fighting
Can anyone teach me how to invade pls
Rule number 1: don't go without supply
@neat widget is it good?
I just focused on soft attack
You don't need welded armor on these, you can lower costs by making them riveted. Also, you're better off with assault engineers and medium flame tanks instead of armored engineers and light flame tanks
also what are your doctrines
Its not that, when i try to invade my troops go foward but the enemy takes the territory behind them
p.s. you can also move the aa to a motorized aa and reserve that support company slot for something like logistics companies
I assume you're fighting somewhere in Chile? are you doing things like naval landings or mountain fighting?
You have no people?
no, chile troops were in Mixeco
